So, one of the passengers is going to provide a layer of ice to shore up the observation car. I'm worried about all the windows, of course, but this is the only car that's ... entirely a window. If a small window breaks, it will be bad, but if that entire car breaks, I can't see anything good coming of it.

If anyone's interested in volunteering, I thought we could take turns reinforcing it with strengthening charms, or stasis charms to keep the ice from melting. If you've any other ideas, I'd be open to hearing them.

I did think about trying to turn the glass to stone, but I thought that might be counter productive in the end.

Just let me know, and we'll see what we can work out.

I've done some smaller scale strengthening charms in mine and Matt's room to help the windows. Otherwise we're teaming up to keep things dry (and I'm trying to think of more options for other windows).

That's good. I imagine every bit helps. I can't be the only one freaked out ab

I can also take a shift with strengthening charms as needed too.

Lovely. I imagine we'll work up some sort of schedule once everyone's had a chance to sign up.

I'm willing to assist applying charms.

Thank you, love.

If there's a time you'd prefer ... we wouldn't all need to be out there at the same time.

I can cover some obscure hour that no one else would want.

I'd say 'when it's dark' but it's not as though you can tell now.

An excellent solution, well done for quick thinking Lily. I'm willing to help keep it in place. Maybe some sort of rota could be arranged?

I was wondering if Colloportus might be useful. It's useless it terms of reinforcing things of course, but it might help with sealing around windows?

It's the pressure I'm worried about

I think anything we could do would be helpful at this juncture. It couldn't hurt. Then no one could accidentally open a window.

I wonder if we could possibly transfigure the glass into a thicker, more durable material? Or even transfigure windows into portholes? A little more pressure friendly.

I wouldn't trust myself at that. Transfiguration was never my strength. Sirius and James might be good at it though, and ... perhaps some of the ... well, I don't want to call them children when they're my own age, but the ones from our distant future.

See what they think? If its possible?

I know. It's strange. They're our age but uh I still feel sort of responsible- in around about way? I'm not sure how else to put it.

I'm sure they'll see this, and chime in.

No, I agree. Harry may be my age, but he's still ... my child. Or will be, and that's close enough.
