Who: Guy and Christine
What: They run into one another
When: Sunday, April 22, morning
Where: Guy's room

Guy had been woken early that morning by another bird, this one perched on the lower bunk squawking things into his ear. That one had been dealt with, as well, but he'd been unable to go back to sleep. And so, he'd propped the door to the hall open so he could all the more easily shoo any further pests out and had gone into the bathroom, rubbing the scruff on his face with a grimace. He needed a shave badly; being messy had never really appealed to Guy at all. Softly singing the same tune he'd sung to Maryanne, he began to lather his cheeks.

A shake of his head. "Nothing comes to mind." Not right off the top of his head, at least. "But if you have some songs in mind, that would be lovely."

"I do wonder how you would do with the part of Hannibal." Christine confessed, almost teasingly, as she eased up onto one of the stools at the counter. Or how he would do with any opera like music.

He chuckled at that. "Hannibal? As in the general?" So whatever this opera was, there were songs about murderous ancients?

Christine nodded briefly. "Yes. The opera house was preforming it just before I was brought here." Though she did not confess she had the part of the lead soprano. There was no reason to brag.

"Then perhaps you can acquaint me with it," he suggested. "Once you are prepared to do so."

"We may have to be in a more modern place for me to find the music. I can only really sing the songs I sang." Rather than the other parts. Sure she knew the backup, the choreography for both parts... But she didn't have the security to know the men's parts. To teach them to someone else.

"Of course," Guy allowed, with a nod. "As I said, whenever you are ready." He was in no hurry. But at the least, they would have another meeting. She seemed rather keen on his voice, and it was nice to have a woman show interest in him.

She was quite keen on another meeting too. But Christine was not bold enough to let on that she was. "Would you like something to drink?" She figured she would offer. After all she did need to get up again.

"Please," Guy nodded. "Whatever you're having." She was a bit shy, but Guy found that it was a pleasure speaking to a woman who was not putting on a show of modesty to keep distance between them.

Moving behind the counter she retrieved one of the cans she'd experimented with earlier. Dropping a few cubes of ice in each cup she poured the dark liquid over it, as it fizzled and foamed. Setting it both glasses on the counter she moved around again, and took her seat.

The proximity of his glass to her own, she hoped, encourage him to take a seat beside her. "Tell me about yourself Sir Guy." She requested just before she took a sip of her drink.

He did feel encouraged to take the seat next to her, folding his lanky form onto the next stool over. Eyeing the liquid, he took a sip, surprised at the carbonation, though it was otherwise alright....if a bit sweet.

"What would you like to know?" Guy questioned. He'd always been a bit reserved and there was no use telling Christine more than necessary about his past. Especially if she were only interested in a few details.

"Well, all I do know, is your name is Guy, and you are from England. Tragedy struck, and the lands no longer bare the Gisborne name. You have a very lovely singing voice, and you are from the twelfth century." She paused and took a sip of the carbonated drink.

"Surely there is more to you than that."

"There isn't very much more," he answered, with a shake of his head. "I am Master at Arms, I am unmarried..." He didn't truly wish to bring up Marian to a woman he had just met. "I lived in France for several years after my parents died."

They were all vague statements, but he truly did not have very much to share about himself. "And yourself? I know your name is Christine and you sing with the opera..." She could share some details if she wished.

"We have something in common then. I too lived in France for several years after my parents died. Before that I lived in Sweden, though, we did not stay there long. We often traveled to different countries as he was invited to come and play. He was a famous violinist." Christine chewed her lower lip as she thought of things to tell him about.

"I am not that exiting I fear. I lived in the ballet dormatories after my parents died. And my father passed when I was seven."

"I am sorry for your loss." Even if it had been many years, he knew that time did not heal all wounds.

"So you studied opera and ballet, then? How...exciting." He assumed they were both related in some way. "I'm afraid I am not interesting as you may have thought." Rather dull, really. "I just try to do my duty and build a life."

Christine nodded briefly, leaning toward him enough to place her hand against his upper arm. "And I yours." She knew the pain the loss of parents caused. And she still missed her Father desperately.

"Yes, ballet first, then... My tutor found me, and he helped me find my voice." Christine confessed. She wasn't quite sure that she couldn't have a more interesting life than he. "But surely you have exciting days preforming your duties."

From the way Christine had discussed the Robin Hood legends, Guy wasn't sure he wished to discuss his work with her. It might just serve to scare her off.

"I wouldn't particularly call it exciting," he shook his head. "My lord is very demanding. And not easily pleased."

"My Master was equally as demanding. He had rules that I had to follow or he..." She shook her head, it wasn't important. She wouldn't dare mention that her master was the Angel of Music. She had seen how Logan looked at her when she had mentioned him.

"The first bit of excitement I had was shortly before I was brought here, I am afraid." Christine confessed. "Perhaps we will make for a more exciting time here on the train?" It took her a moment before she realized what she had proposed, or what it sounded like she proposed, and she blushed madly. Shocked at her own boldness.

He knew she hadn't meant what she was implying. Any fool could see that Christine was a complete innocent in the ways of the world.

"It's certainly never dull on the train," he answered, perhaps deliberately misunderstanding her. "Since it has a mind of its own, there are all kinds of excitement."

"I would have to agree." She smiled a little, glad that he had misunderstood her. "I have only been here a week and already there are larger than average wasps that cause all sorts of distress, and birds that sound like people you know." People who weren't on the train.

"And Tortuga is next. I understand that is a large pirate port." Or it was.

"From what I understand," he agreed. Though he did not much like the thought of stopping in a pirate town. They were outlaws of the sea, but without Hood's scruples.

"Please let me know if you will need anyone to accompany you." He would not turn an innocent like her loose in a town of pirates.

"I would like that actually. I don't know how well I would fair in a pirate town on my own." Christine was completely honest with herself and with him. She knew nothing about defending herself.

"The only good I would do alone would be to... distract them perhaps."

"And we couldn't have that," Guy returned. No, he would make certain that Christine Daae returned unscathed from her venture to this pirate port. It was one of the things he was actually capable of doing well. And he had a feeling that Maryanne would not need his help since she had claws.
