Who: Guy and Christine
What: They run into one another
When: Sunday, April 22, morning
Where: Guy's room

Guy had been woken early that morning by another bird, this one perched on the lower bunk squawking things into his ear. That one had been dealt with, as well, but he'd been unable to go back to sleep. And so, he'd propped the door to the hall open so he could all the more easily shoo any further pests out and had gone into the bathroom, rubbing the scruff on his face with a grimace. He needed a shave badly; being messy had never really appealed to Guy at all. Softly singing the same tune he'd sung to Maryanne, he began to lather his cheeks.

Christine had dared to venture out of her room. To stretch her legs, as it was growing rather silly to sit in her room and... wait for the Wasps and Birds to go away. The way others were talking it would be another week, at least.

So armed with a platter, she'd gathered from the kitchen on her last visit, she ventured through the cars. Only... While she was still in one of the sleeper cars, the most delightful voice reached her ears.

The door was propped open. Was it another bird? Pressing her hand to the door she eased it open. She knew that song. And it didn't seem to be a bird, unless they had begun to take up residence in the lavatories. Catching the tune she hummed until he reached a point that she could come in as well.

Another voice joined his and Guy started at that. Luckily he'd been rinsing the razor at the time, else he could have nicked his face. As it was, his voice trailed off, the razor slipped from his grasp into the sink and he turned, stepping into the doorway to see who was joining the song.

He was bare-chested, half his face still lathered up, and his eyebrows rose as he saw the young woman in his room. "...Good morning."

Her cheeks flushed brightly. "Good Morning, monsieur. I'm sorry for intruding I just... Heard you and..." She trailed off a little bashfully. Making an attempt not to look at his glorious bare chest.

The thought, which came rather unbidden, caused Christine's cheeks to flair more so than the simple intrusion.

She was embarrassed, that much was clear, more than likely by his nakedness. And she was French, apparently.

"Mademoiselle." His head inclined slightly, as he reached for one of the button-down shirts Marian had given him in the Night Watchman bundles. Slipping it on, he shook his head.

"I didn't think I was singing that loudly."

"Oh you were not," She offered a bit of a smile, once he was covered, not that she was normally bashful around semi dressed men. She'd been exposed to enough in the Opera House. But none were quite as... pretty.

"You do have a lovely voice." Christine complemented. "And I was walking by, I though perhaps one of the birds were trying to fool me again." Even if it had been rather unfamiliar. "I was gong to shoo it out the window." She nodded toward the opening.

"That's why the window is open," he returned, with a soft smile. "The birds have been hanging around a bit too much for my taste."

He gestured for her to enter. "Would you mind if I finished shaving first, though?" It would be a quick shave, but he couldn't just leave half his face shaggy.

"Of course." Though she could continue on her way if she was being a bother... But if she was, would he have gestured for her to enter.

"Somethings cannot be helped, monsieur, when coupled with a song I know, I could hardly keep myself from joining in." She added with a bit of a chuckle, by way of explanation.

He smiled at that, stepping back into the bathroom. "You certainly have the voice for it," he complimented her in return. "I thought you were a songbird at first."

"Thank you." While he could not see it, there was little doubt of the smile in her tone.

"I am Christine Daae." She felt, since she had invaded his room, she should at least introduce herself.

It took him a few moments to shave the other side of his face; not quite as neatly as the first half, but it would do. Wiping the excess bits of lather away with a towel, Guy reappeared, bowing.

"Sir Guy of Gisborne. Enchanté, mademoiselle." He still remembered enough French from his time in that country to get by. "Are you new to the train?"

Christine would be lying if she denied being delighted to meet someone else who spoke a little French. "Enchanté, monsieur." So she parroted his greeting back to him, with a little bit of a curtsy. Even if her make shift dancing costume was a little odd, a long loud t-shirt-it reached mid thigh- the collar stretched and white leggings beneath, and the white toe slippers she'd come in. But the clothes in the baggage car were a little slim on the choices.

"A little. I've been here almost a week, or right at." Christine confessed.

"Welcome to the train, then," he inclined his head in greeting. "I've been here a bit longer then that. I will say this: at least the voyage is never boring."

Though boring would be nice every once in awhile.

Christine chuckled a little. "Thank you, but I think that may be an understatement, thus far I have managed to avoid an oddly large wasp's sting, and chased out a number of speaking birds that were trying to convince me that they were someone else." As if she were dull witted. Perhaps if they had been somewhere else other than her room, and she had not followed the sound with her eyes first.

She might have launched her shoe at one or two, as well.

"I've run into those both as well," Guy agreed with a nod. "And that's only the beginning, perhaps unfortunately." Traveling underwater or having strange dreams or any other number of things that had happened since his arrival.

"You must let me know if you require assistance." That seemed to be the role he had fallen into: keeping an eye on Marian, giving swordplay lessons...

"Only the beginning?" She had to question, was there more in store for them? Were the birds and wasps not odd enough? She did not hide her surprise in her tone.

"I do wield a shoe quite viciously." Christine offered with a teasing smile. "But I will be sure to inquire."

"Not everything is so bad," he answered, trying to be reassuring. He did not want to have a hysterical woman on his hands.

"And please do. I'm sure your skills with a shoe are fearsome, indeed, but I am here if they do not quite suffice."

Christine was hardly the sort to go to pieces, though he didn't know that.

"I did meet a young woman that was going to teach me how to fight, but everything went south after that. The birds and wasps showed up." She was hardly the damsel in distress.

He hadn't meant to infer that she was entirely a damsel in distress. He was merely trying to be polite and extend her some courtesy.

"Until you can procure lessons in self defense, please allow me to make myself useful." He hated being anything less than. Hated feeling like he was doing nothing.

"I could hardly deny such a polite request, Monsieur." Christine blushed faintly.

Squaring her shoulders she decided being a little forward would not hurt anyone. "Would you care to escort me to retrieve something to drink? In case I need to be defended?" She hoped she would not have the need. As she would not wish to see this good man stung, or tormented.

"It would be my honor, ma'amselle," he returned, inclining his head in return. The shirt he'd slipped on was finally buttoned up, though left un-tucked, and he offered her his arm.

"My lady."

Placing her hand at the crook of his elbow she allowed him to lead her out the door. "I do hope you don't mind if I make inquiries, as we stroll along. I'm afraid I have only made a few acquaintances. A man from another planet, a young woman from very far into the future, a fellow from one hundred and thirty hears into the future, or my future, and another young woman, I don't believe I caught her name."

"I've come to expect questions," Guy answered, almost resigned to the fact by now. He was a private man by nature, but it seemed that he could not indulge himself here.

"What do you wish to know, m'lady?"

"I will keep them... careful. I promise." She wasn't sure what the proper word was. As she meant that she would not delve into private matters if he did not wish it. At least for the time being. If he wished to know her better, them perhaps they could share more.

"Where, and when, which seems rather odd to ask, are you from? I am afraid I have never heard of Gisborne." She said apologetically.

It wasn't surprising. "It was a small bit of land in England," Guy answered. "She doesn't exist any longer." Had been absorbed into Locksley.

"That's where I'm from. England, 1192, in the year of our Lord. And you, my lady?" Gaze drifted over to her. "When are you from?" He knew the where. France.

"I am from 1870. Logan had said there were a few people from the twelfth century." Christine chuckled softly. "I must say I wasn't quite sure he was serious until now." Though there was Morgana, and she was from Camelot.

"I am sorry about Gisborne though. What county had it been located in?" She did know a little bit of England, from when her father had been asked to play in London.
