Who: Wesker and HUNK
What: Wesker receives an invitation and makes a phone call to Ada. She doesn't answer, but instead, he gets an unexpected call.
Where: Wesker's secret hideout? ...and HUNK is already on location in at the sunny Coralon Complex Resort and Spa.
The room was nearly dark, a single lamp illuminated the room, poised over a lush armchair. In it sat Albert Wesker, a curious item in his hand. A piece of parchment with a flowing script and a seal he had never imagined to see again.
A letter, no, an invitation.
His eyes narrowed as he scanned the page, taking in the words and analyzing them carefully for any clues. It was, he decided, not a forgery. He knew the handwriting, the seal, merely a formality to accent the signature of a self-important man who had nothing left but said self-importance.
Wesker pulled a cellular phone from his pocket, pressed in a code to unlock it, and dialed a number at which he knew he could reach one Ada Wong.
Several short, impatient rings, strangely hyphenated from their standard, and then, nothing. No voicemail, no automated telephone company voice, just silence. Wesker snapped the phone shut with a loud, somewhat angry click. Ada had always been reliable before this. Dependable, if not loyal. Like a dog that the owner has suspicions will one day turn on him, but has chosen to be comforting and mostly obedient for the time being.
This was one of the first warning signs to Wesker that perhaps the dog should be put down.
Just as the thought crossed his mind, the mobile came to life in his hand, vibrating impatiently. The screen lit up, and he raised an eyebrow. "At least she ret--" he stopped short, as he eyed the number flashing on the small screen before he opened the phone.
If this was Ada, she wasn't returning Wesker's call from any number he had on file.
