RP: Unexpected Consequences
When: 15 February 2004
Who: Alicia Spinnet, Oliver Wood, Alecto Carrow, Rabastan Lestrange
Where: Upper Slaughter
Private/Public: Private
Rating: Adult
Warning: Torture and death
Summary: Oliver and Alicia are on a weekend away to sort things out when they run into some wards that are not supposed to be there.

Alicia wrapped her coat tighter around herself to keep the chill air out. A small getaway for Valentine’s Day, that wasn’t too far from home, and yet still was far enough away to ensure them a bit of needed privacy, but still? It was bloody cold, and she really needed to look into those warming spells Richard had told her about.

She looked up at the man walking next to her, before she reached out her hand and laced her fingers with his. They were warm, like always, and it made her smile, although what made her feel warm and the cold around them disappear, was the smile that Oliver sent back at her. When he draped his arm around her shoulder and pulled her closer, she happily snuggled closer to him, despite the fact that it made it much more difficult for them to walk.

So much had happened since that horrible evening after the funeral, which had ended with Alicia moving her things out from Oliver’s flat. The next couple of days, she had spent holed up in her old room in her parents’ house, refusing to talk or deal with anybody, but Aidan, and even he was often sent downstairs to be with her mum, so she could just be alone. The pile of crumbled up parchment had kept growing, as she had tried to find the words to write down an apology for Oliver, but no matter what, they had ended up sounding hollow and ringing false even to herself. That was when the Owl from the Ministry had arrived, with the new birth certificate for Aidan. It had only been a few days before the fight that they had sent off the papers to put Oliver’s name down as the boy’s father, and now the papers had returned; the man who had just asked her to leave his life for good, was now officially the father of her son.

The irony of that had shaken her enough to clean and sober up, before she had gone to see him in person. This wasn’t something she could keep from him, and if she had forgotten, then chances were that he had too, and the man should at least have a copy of this document.

At first it had been painful to see him again, and getting a simple conversation going had been even harder, though finally she had managed to get an apology and an almost-explanation as for why she was here stuttered out, and slowly – immensely slowly – they had started talking again. She hated herself for having hurt him like that, though she had never once done it to step out on their relationship, but just the fact that he had been as hurt as he had, was enough for her to realize that she wasn’t the only one who had been this deeply into this.

The talk had continued and before either of them had realized it, the sun was rising outside the windows of Oliver’s living room. That was when Alicia had returned home to her parents’ house, though in the evening, she was back in London, on Oliver’s invitation, although she didn’t stay the night this time either, and now, nearly two weeks later, here they were, walking down the streets of Upper Slaughter, on a romantic getaway, which… it was, and Alicia had no doubt that they were on the right track. No, she hadn’t moved back in with him, but that was a mutual decision. Everything had happened so fast the first time around, and they had decided to go slower now. Of course, that meant that their time together was even more precious, especially since both Angus and Aidan demanded their fair share of it, which was why this weekend away worked well for the both of them.

“So…” Alicia said as they sat down on a bench and she snuggled closer under Oliver’s arm to keep warm, “are you going to show me what this ‘I’ve got something to show you’ is?” she asked him with a quirked eyebrow, “or am I going to have to guess?”

Oliver’s all too bright smile and the waggle of his eyebrows had her nudge him playfully in the side, before he tapped her nose and told her to have patience and something about good things coming to those who waits, and that’s when Alicia lost her patience and pulled his head down to kiss him, shutting him up effectively, and hopefully distracting him enough to just bloody well show her what it was he had brought her out here to see.

She felt him shift under the kiss, and when he eased out of the kiss, she first sent him a smile, before she looked down at what he had just retrieved from inside his coat. And that’s when she had stopped breathing. Her head was spinning and she felt as if she had just had a bucket of cold water tossed in her face, which oddly enough felt as if it was on fire like the rest of her body.

There was no way she could tear her eyes off the blue mask Oliver was holding in his hand right now.

How many times hadn’t she seen that mask in her dreams? Dreams that had woken her up gasping as she had just reached her climax on that one incredibly night a couple of years ago.

“But…” she stammered still trying to breathe. “But how did…” she stopped and shook her head. This couldn’t be. All she had told Oliver about the mask was that it was blue, and yet, here he was, holding a blue mask, with an intricate pattern of thin, gold stripes woven into the silky fabric, details she remembered vividly, yet had never been able to describe to him.

“I found it when I was packing for the weekend,” he said quietly, then he snorted. “Can’t believe I forgot it… that I didn’t recognize you…” He was chewing on his lip, and Alicia desperately wanted to ask him for more details, just to get that confirmation that this really was what she was thinking it was, but she couldn’t get out the words. Oliver did that for her, when he continued. “Your mask was purple?” it was more a statement than a question, and Alicia drew in a sharp breath when he touched a warm fingertip to her cheekbone, “with a row of golden stars right here…”

Still not able to fully construct words or even a full sentence Alicia just nodded before she looked up and stared openly into his face. How the hell had she missed that for so long? The wide blue eyes and the way they closed up whenever he smiled? The set of his lips and even the blond curls?

With a sigh she shook her head before she laughed softly and put her head on his shoulder. “I should have known with those blue eyes, shouldn’t I?” she asked, though squealed when strong fingers poked her side making her shoot up from the bench, her eyes on Oliver’s as his smile turned feral.

Before she knew it, she was running down the hill, with Oliver at her heels, feeling more carefree than she had in years. When his arms wrapped around her waist, they tumbled to the ground, and it was then that the feeling of a strong ward hit them, making both of them instantly look up and around, aware that this was by far not a favourable situation for them to be in.

Alecto was sitting comfortably in front of the roaring fire with a glass of port, talking with Rabastan about the latest things she'd heard and read in the Prophet. She had barely put the glass to her lips when she felt the tingling sound under her skin as the wards were breached. She put down her glass sharply as her eyes met Rabastan's.

"The wards," she hissed as she pulled out her wand and proceeded to the door, sure that he was on her heels.

Rab's eyes narrowed. "And more than a bird. Best we go check that one out." He stood, then held out a hand. "Hopefully it will turn out to be nothing."

If they were unlucky, it would end up being a few Aurors or hit wizards who had stumbled across their hiding place. And that would lead to a mess.

Alecto made her way out onto the grounds, her eyes taking in everything as she and Rabastan walked together, wands drawn. She spotted the couple on the ground, trying to stay still. She was surprised that they had made it this far from the hostels and inns in Upper Slaughter.

"I wouldn't move if I were you," she hissed, her wand trained on them as they neared. "Well, well, we meet again, lovely. Oliver Wood, isn't it?"

Oliver stood, his immediate reaction to protect Alicia as he stood in front of her.

"Wood?" He seemed to recall the name. He had been in the Prophet once or twice, hadn't he? Some sort of Quidditch Star? This would be interesting.

He circled round behind them, then cast a binding spell around them to keep their captives from running.

The way Alecto was looking at Wood, this was obviously personal. Still, that meant this could be quite fun. "I think you found yourself in the wrong place at the wrong time," he purred at them.

The girl looked frightened, looking between Wood and Alecto, then back over her shoulder at Rab. He wondered if she were the shrieking sort.

Alecto smirked, lowering her wand after Rabastan's binding spell had taken effect.

"I think they're in exactly the right place at the right time," she grinned, running her finger over Oliver's cheek, watching his jaw muscles flex in rage. "No need to get angry, precious. You'll be together. At least in the same room until I tire of you. And I'm sure blondie here can tell me if you're any good or not, can't you?"

Alecto's fingers brushed Alicia's lips. "So soft," she purred. "What do you say to adding these two to the collection we have going? No need to let such beautiful flesh go to waste by just killing them outright."

"Are they pure?" he asked her as though they could not even hear.

The girl made an indignant sound at the question, but stifled herself when Rab raised an eyebrow at her. "I'll take it that means no? I doubt Ro would be interested."

He had a fleeting thought of his new captive. "Unless they have particular talents aside from brooms and balls?" he asked with a smirk.

"Such a shame," Alecto said, brushing her fingers through Oliver's hair. "I might have spared your woman if you'd have had the good enough sense to be seen with a Pureblood. Ah, well. We can play at least."

Alecto's lips curved into a sensual smirk as she cast a silencing charm on them - they wouldn't need to speak now, at least not until they were screaming in pain.

Rab moved to her side. "So which do you want to play with first? You could torture her while he watched. I'm sure his reactions would be fascinating..."

"Or I could do it the other way around," she mused, watching Oliver's eyes widen. "Do you think she'd scream for me to stop while he took it all in stony silence? Should we see if he's acquired a stiff upper lip or if he's a soft Scot at heart?"

Smirking, Rab bowed to her. "They're all yours, my dear. Just let me know how I can help. Should I hold him for you? Would you like to borrow my dagger?"

Wood's eyes went round at the mention of the dagger. He shook his head, and Rab laughed. "I wasn't asking you."

"It's a pity I left all my things elsewhere," she smirked, brushing her fingernail down Oliver's face. "So I may have to take you up on that, darling."

"Oh don't worry, love," she whispered in Oliver's ear. "Your girlfriend will have her turn too."

Rab reached into his robe, pulling out the dagger, then handed the bare blade to her, handle first. "Just be sure to clean it after. We wouldn't want impurities to ruin it... I'll just go hold the girl, shall I?"

Alecto took the dagger, running her finger across the blade to test its sharpness. She pulled out her wand, casting a warming charm over herself. Best to do it outside and not get blood on everything.

"Of course, darling," she grinned, licking her bottom lip at the thought of what she was going to do.
