RP: I don't do cheap pick up lines
When: 2 February 2004
Who: Pansy Parkinson, Kenneth Towler
Where: the Cask and Cauldron in Diagon Alley
Private/Public: Private
Rating: Adult with NWS icons
Summary: Pansy is doing a little research and runs into a handsome man that she's been meaning to chat up....er...look up.

Pansy stepped into the Cask and Cauldron and took a moment to look around. She had been visiting various inns and bars along Diagon Alley, getting a feel for what was available. She had the idea that she might establish a business relationship of sorts with the places that met her standards...once the hotel was up and running, of course. And if she happened to get an idea that she could use in her hotel, all the better.

Mostly, she was getting ideas of what she absolutely would not tolerate. But that was good because she did intend to have a small bar in the hotel.

This place ranked up there with the Leaky Cauldron, Pansy decided with a slight curl to her lip. Maybe the word cauldron in the name was a sign. She would not be using it in any of the places in her hotel.

She was tempted to just leave, but in the interests of being thorough, she would stay for a bit. She moved to the bar to order a drink. She wondered if they could manage a Turquoise Blue. She'd be lucky if they had anything but beer and more beer.

Pansy looked at him thoughtfully. That didn't sound good, she mused, but she didn't pry. He'd just be more careful of what he said if she did. 'I'm sorry,' she told him softly. 'But I doubt you could manage a sub-par performance,' she added, her smile teasing. 'You could just lie there looking so delectably handsome and you'd have already passed sub-par...'

'The Gryffindors of my year were annoying twats, some of them.' She shrugged. 'Patil and Brown weren't so bad. You could talk to them and they weren't so full of their own importance. But Potter and the wannabes?' she sneered.

Shaking her head, she gave him a smile. 'I've always been gorgeous,' she told him confidently. 'And charming to the right people.'

"So glad I don't have to make the effort right now," he said with a small chuckle, stroking a hand down her back. "We should probably get to your bedroom before I drown in your jacuzzi. Merlin only knows what the Prophet would make of it."

He laughed at that. "Trust me, I'm not a huge fan of Potter and the Weasleys myself. The only one - seemingly - with any sense is Percy and he didn't associate with them for a while if the rumours are correct," he replied.

"I hope you stay charming to me," he said with a grin. "Now come on, where's that bedroom of yours?"

Pansy laughed. She'd make sure he wasn't found in her jacuzzi in the first place, in fact, but it wouldn't be right to share that with a member of the MLE. 'I'm not going to let you drown in the jacuzzi,' she assured him. She summoned a few towels from the pool house. She could do a drying spell without her wand, but some people liked the comfort of the towel, too.

'A bit excessive with the rule following,' Pansy remembered. He hadn't made the best impression on her when he was Head Boy at school.

She handed him a towel. 'Come on, darling,' she told him, leading him out of the tub.
