Mod update! Death rolls & carry over damage! Ability update for Knights! AC requirements!
• We wanted to touch base regarding some potential confusion surrounding what qualifies AC meeting threads vs what doesn’t qualify at this time. We made a post back in December (here! I’m a link!) outlining some revisions regarding what will be acceptable. We let some things go in the month of February regarding this due to potential confusion new players may have had previously as they wouldn’t have been around to see a post made in December, and we - the mods - have both had some personal life issues that have come up, and hadn’t been able to fully update all mod/game docs appropriately. In short: Stand alone threads can be related to plot events, but can not happen during plot events. What this means is if a battle happens, anything that happens in response to, or after the battle event (clinic visits, helping clean up the city, talking about the battle, etc) can be counted up to 1 month ago as long as it’s posted in the month AC is due for. We’ll use the March battle event as an example here! If you have a battle thread that isn’t finished from the March battle event, that you post to the battle event this week, as it is something that happened in March, and will not help your character’s visibility for the month of April it can not be used for April AC. However, if your character gets into a conversation about the battle event, or is in a clinic, etc, and that stand alone thread is posted in April, and is backdated to March, it can be used for AC for April. If you want to have an interaction during an event, please post it to the actual event. If for some reason you can’t stand posting it the event, you’re welcome to post it otherwise, but please note that if the event did not occur in the month AC is due for, it will not be able to be used for AC. (AKA, an event happens in March, it can be used for March AC, but not for April AC.) • We have a few details to go over before the next upcoming event! During this two day scheduled battle event, we will be planning to include the possibility for Death Rolls. What this means for you: You can kill your characters via the battle event! We have already determined randomized rolls for all characters, and several have death rolls. We will be emailing every player who has a character with a potential death roll at this time. Additionally, if you want to kill your character during this event, please feel free to email in and let us know what character you want to kill, and we’d be more than happy to adjust their rolls, or work with the player to rack up additional damage to make it up to, or past a damage of 10. • Also, as this event is scheduled to last two days in game, we would ask that everyone weigh in below as to their preference on, as we have similarly done in past events, normal damage rolls extending between the days for those characters planning to participate. Our current thoughts are that there could be a 25% damage carry over between day 1 and day 2 damage rolls. This means that the 25% of the max damage gained on day one (regardless of healing) would be carried over to day 2. Example: If Aspel gains a 8 points of damge on day 1, (regardless of any healing she gets) she’ll carry over 2 points of damage between day 1 onto day 2. The 2 points of damage will be added to Aspel’s day 2 damage roll (let’s say she has a 5) for a max total of 7 points of damage before any other modifiers are added or subtracted. We are not set on these plans, but these are the things we’re toying around with for something a bit more realistic since recovery time will be little to none, and we’ve established ICly that not all damage can be cured instantly. Note: Obviously if a character is healed down to zero there would be no damage carry over. This would mostly impact characters with high damage rolls as they would have severe wounds, cracked/broken bones, etc, that would normally take days to heal. • Retconning Knight Abilities: It was brought to the attention of the mods that there were several Ivalice based game Knight abilities that were not previously listed while other players were making characters in the past. At this time, we would like to allow all characters who are playing a Knight class character - who have been a Knight for 5 years or more - to retcon in the following abilities to their ability lists: Parry (here! I’m a link!) , Magic Break (here! I’m a link!) , Mind Break (here! I’m a link!), and Speed Break (here! I’m a link!) .. Now you may be wondering about the following abilities: Head Break, Shield Break and Weapon break. These abilities are being clumped under either Armor Break or Power break as a catch all categories. Armor Break is for anything armor related (Head and Shield break talk about breaking armor as well) as, or Power break (Weapon break is lumped under this) is about lowering attack power as a whole. &bulll; Any other questions regarding this information, please ask below! Poll #7421 Death rolls and damage carry over! Open to: Friends, results viewable to: Friends Do you want damage to carry over? Yes No If you feel damage is reasonable to carry over, how much damage do you feel is reasonable to carry over between days? All of it! Half of it! A quarter of it! None of it! If you feel we shouldn't carry damage over between days, please let us know why so we can take this into consideration at this time! |
