Previous Entry  Add to memories!  Tell a Friend!  Next Entry
Have sympathy for the werewolf, somebody like you and me...
Who: Wes and Caiden (possibly Gemma?)// CLOSED
What: Wes' time of the month and Caiden keeping him company
Where: The Shrieking Shack
When: Sunday 8th Feb/ night
Rating/Warnings: PG13?
Status: in progress

Wes stopped before the Whomping Willow and glanced around, making the coast was clear. Well sort of, he couldn't really be bothered to check properly. If someone saw him they probably wouldn't get past the tree anyway. He slipped his wand from his pocket and pointed it at a large stone on the ground as the tree swayed threateningly.
"Wingadium leviosa," He muttered, with a nice swish-and-flick of his wand, levitating the stone up before sending it to thwack against the knot in the tree that momentarily paralysed the Willow. He crept forwards and slipped down into the tunnel, having to duck awkwardly because he was really too tall for this shit!

He hadn't waited for Caiden. He never waited for Caiden, because he never wanted to put that kind of pressure on him. To make it seem like he expected him to come along every month. It was a big commitment and all that and he didn't want Caiden to feel obliged. Wes probably wouldn't admit it, but if Caiden stopped coming he'd be heartbroken. He'd gotten to the point where it felt like Caiden kept him sane during these three nights. He wasn't sure what he would do without him. But still, proud as he was, Wes would always act like he could do it alone.
He pushed open the hatch and stepped into the shack, still as dirty and creaky as when he'd left it last, though his and Caiden's foot (and paw) prints covered in a new layer of dust. He made his way through to the livingroom and sighed before taking off his shirt, throwing it onto the broken sofa that sat sadly in the middle of the dark room, looking quite sorry for itself. Wes paused to run his fingers over some of the stuffing poking out of the side, the material ripped by what was quite clearly a set of powerful, sharp, teeth.

She had found out almost a year and a half ago. She had been talking with Ellie when the other girl off handedly mentioned that Caiden often snuck out of Ravenclaw only to return the next morning. Gemma really did try, honest, not to poke her nose into her older brother’s business but she was never much good with self restraint. So, for a solid three weeks she watched the entrance to Ravenclaw past curfew – looking back it’s a sheer miracle she had never been caught by Filch – until the fateful night her brother appeared near midnight. She followed him out onto the grounds and when he started heading toward the Whomping Willow, Gemma got a sinking feeling in the pit of her stomach…

See, Jamie had the tendency to spill quite a few Marauder secrets when he’s pissed off cheap rum. It back when they were still messing about being snog mates that he enraptured her with a story that featured the famous Remus Lupin, a fullmoon, the Shrieking Shack, and the Whomping Willow.

Gritting her teeth, Gemma silently tagged along behind her brother as he froze the ancient tree and slipped through a tunnel. Once she found herself into on the lowest floor of the shack, she scared the piss out of Caiden and a half nude Wes. For only a moment she wondered if she had stumbled upon something else entirely.

Now, she joined the two of them for most full moons. She often joked with Wes that it was nice to know that not just birds had a time of the month. She travelled along to make sure nothing went wrong and to keep Caiden sane as he listened to his best friend transform in the other room.

Tonight she was later than usual because she had to wait for the rest of her dorm to fall asleep before she could slip away. Gemma found her brother huddled in corner outside of the lounge with a distressed look upon his face. He didn’t even notice she was there until she spoke.

“I brought a fat load of chocolate,” she said as she removed a Honeydukes bag from her rudsack. “I know Wes will really crave meat, but the chocolate will at least make him feel bit better. The chocolate was easy to nick. I figured it’d be a bit suspicious if I tried to smuggle out half a steak.”

Caiden jumped when Gemma spoke, looking up at her with rather damp eyes. He looked around towards the door, sighing softly. There was no sound in there. "Thank you for coming-" He thanked Gemma every time. Every time it just made it easier for him. It made it easy to have someone he could turn to and hug when he needed it, even though they joked about it.

He stood and pushed the door open slowly, peering around and spying the wolf curled up on the floor. "Wes?" he whispered a little apprehensively, stepping fully into the room and then padding slowly over to his friend. "Wes? Are you...feeling ok? Gemma is here-" Wes would be able to smell Gemma already, but it was still polite, Caiden supposed, to let him in on it.

Caiden stooped down, stoking his hand gently over the warm, furry belly of the wolf. "I brought you a whole load of things tonight. Keep you entertained. Gem brought you chocolate-"

Looking over his shoulder, he offered his little sister a smile.

Wes' ears perked up slightly as Caiden entered the lounge, but he didn't move, his big golden eyes watching Caiden's careful movements, flicking to Gemma and then back to Caiden as Wes tried to gather his thoughts into something a little more human. He growled as Cai knelt beside him before he caught himself. Caiden. He knew Caiden....
As the other boy's fingers moved through his fur, suddenly Wes seemed to forget about just how much pain he had been in a few moments earlier. He whimpered again and shifted, unable to stop himself rolling onto his back, his large bushy tail, sweeping across the floor, betraying how much he enjoyed that touch (if him presenting his stomach didn't do that enough).

Caiden smiled, making himself comfortable on the floor and running his fingers slowly over Wes's belly. His hair was so long and dark, like Wes' hair when he was human. "Is that nice? Do you feel ok? Here-" He reached into his bag and pulled out a little plastic container he'd charmed so that the smell of meat didn't get out. He'd taken a few sausages from the dinner table. Not bleeding everywhere, but they were good and meaty. He continued to pet Wes's belly and offered him a sausage. It was difficult not to say 'good boy' to Wes, but he knew the boy wouldn't appreciate it, neither as a wolf nor when he changed back.
