Who: Wes & Scorpius (OPEN to professors!)
What: Doing a whole lotta nothin'
Where: Out on the grounds
When: Friday afternoon
Rating: Warning: Contents could be explosive.
Author's Note: I can be a complete flake, so expect slow-ass replies sometimes.

Wes was smoking, but it was just a cigarette. He actually wasn't in the mood to get high for once. Not to mention that it was actually impossible to get near the greenhouses, what with all the preparation for the Herbology exam coming up.
Exams, exams, exams. It was all anyone was talking about outside of the murders, and quite frankly Wes Longbottom was bored of it!
He sighed and laid back into the long grass, closing his eyes to enjoy the unseasonably warm Spring they were having, and how nice and quiet it was on the grounds, despite being a Friday afternoon. It wouldn't have been to hard for him to fall asleep where he was laying....

Scorpius allowed for one side of his mouth to tug up into something like a smile. "Well, who doesn't end up worse for your company?" he snorted, he returned the increased pressure as Wes tried to push forward, but though he did not fall back he didn't gain much ground either.

"The bright side of this whole murder thing was that it was a chance for dear Claire and myself to regain our former closeness," He heaved an exaggerated sigh, making a show of bringing a hand to rest over his heart. "Sharing an experience like that, well, it really bonds people."

Wes tried not to let that get to him, he really did. Claire was his, she'd made that clear. After everything, she was still willing to accept him and be with him, he knew that. But the thought of her being with Scorpius... Anyone else would've been fine!
"Yeah right," Wes growled, "Do a lot of wishful thinking do you? I know for a fact Claire likes men with balls Malfoy, something I'm pretty sure you should probably try to accio."

It was becoming a competition of pressure, both of them slowly increasing how much stretch they were using. But Wes was on the bad side of this match, using both arms to hold himself up, he couldn't reach for his wand without slipping and letting Scorpius pin him. Not to mention the increasing discomfort of having the sole of Scorpius' shoe digging into his chest... Wes started to hurriedly toss up his options.

Scorpius made a thoughtful humming noise, trying as best he could to push reawakened memories of the murder to the back of his mind and focus exclusively on the present.

Slowly, he drew his wand from in the inside of his robes and passed it back and forth between his hands. "Huh, I wonder what would happen if I did try to accio them...right at this moment." He trained the wand directly ad Wes and allowed a grin to take over his face.

Wes' eyes widened slightly as Scorpius retrieved his wand, thereby getting yet another bit of ground above Wes. He froze as the wand was pointed down at him.
"No point in trying," He said, his eyes flicking from the wand back to Scorpius' face, "Mine're too big for a little boy like you-"
Without warning he reached down to grab his wand from his pocket, letting himself fall backwards under Scoripus' foot in the meantime, hoping that the shift in balance might throw him slightly. Laying with his back against the ground Wes pointed his wand up, quickly pulling through his inner inventory of spells that would be most effective in this situation.

"Bugger, fuck!" Scorpius exclaimed as he found his weight abruptly shifting forward. He had seen Wes go for his wand, but the sudden jerk forward prevented him from being able to react quickly enough.

His weight came down hard on Wes' chest, but only for a moment, as Scorpius took a long step forward in order to keep himself upright.

Wes made a pained noise as scorpius fell onto him, winding him slightly. He tried to push Scorpius away with one hand, the other waving his wand. He gasped for breath and choked out a cry of "Ex-Expelliarm-mus." not even sure if the spell would cast with such a stuttering pronunciation.

Despite the poorly worded spell Scorpius' wand did jump out of his hand. it did not, however, go very far. The Ash Wood landed in the grass just a few feet away and Scorpius scooped as rapidly as he could to grab it back.

Pivoting on his heel, Scorpius whirled "Everte Statum!" Without the element of surprise, Scorpius knew his spell could be easily blocked and so before it even hit he was already flipping through his brain for another attack.

Wes rolled onto all fours as quickly as he could, only for Scorpius' spell to his him dead-on, sending him rolling across the grass.
"Fuck-" He cursed, landing heavily on his back once again. He scrambled to his feet, mentally noting that somewhere on his body he was going to end up with a bruise the next morning, and quickly leapt into a duelling stance, "Avis oppugno!"
A flock of sparrows burst from his wand, chirping angrily, heading straight for Scorpius.

Scorpius' eyes got wide- sure they were small birds, but he absolutely did not want them anywhere near his face. He tried to act quickly, jabbing his wand into the air and knocking down several of the birds with "Immobulus!" but it had to be done one by one, and Scorpius didn't get it in time to prevent their beginning to peck and scratch at his head.

Gritting his teeth hard, Scorpius made a wide sweeping gesture; "Finite Incantatem!" and, as the birds disappeared he turned a look of fury to Wes.

"My face!" He cried, advancing with clenched fists. "Those disgusting birds were trying to ruin my face! Carpe Retractum!" he cried, trying to draw Longbottom closer to him- though he was unsure of his exact plan of attack.

"I don't blame them!" Wes laughed cockily, until Scorpius caught him with his spell. Suddenly, it felt as if some kind of rope were tied around his waist, dragging him towards Scorpius. It surprised him for a moment, since the last place he'd imagine Scorpius would want him would be closer to him, within punching distance. Unless...

Wes instantly remembered how painful it had been when Scorpius had grabbed him by the hair, and had no intention for a repeat of that! He tried to dig his heels into the soil, but continued to move, dragged by the spell, leaving scores in the earth behind him.

"Relashio!" He cried to no effect, considering the 'rope' wasn't physical, "Ventus!" Wes tried instead, waving a wide arch, sending a blast of wind straight for Scorpius who was far too close for his liking.

Scorpius felt his eyes water as the sudden wind whipped at them. For a moment he lost his focus, and a moment was all it took to break the hold of the spell. "Dammit!"

Ducking his head down against the wind, Scorpius shot out a Pilargorio spell, hoping that it would cause Wes' eyebrows to grow over his face rapidly enough to prevent him from aiming another spell. Unfortunately, he didn't really now was quickly acting the spell was.

Wes let out a triumphant "HA!" as the spell on him broke, only to be hit with one a second later. Much to his mortification, his eyebrows burst outwards, descending over his face with terrific speed.
"FUCK!" He exclaimed, quickly turning his wand on his face, "Finite Incantatem!"

He couldn't see, that much was obvious, and it scared him, because Scorpius had the upper hand once again!
"Explico!" He cast quickly. Wes' eyebrows quickly began to shrink back to their normal size. He looked around quickly, hoping Scorpius hadn't had a chance to do anything terrible, but he was already bracing himself for another spell, "Protego!"

Scorpius did not immediately act upon his sudden advantage because, seeing Wes' face overtaken by thick hair pulled a loud peal of laughter from him. And so, when he did finally shout, "Expelliarmus!" it shattered harmlessly against the other boy's sheild.

Instinctively dodging backward a step of two, Scorpius spat a rapid leg-locked while moving, just in case Wes had already begun an offensive spell.

Wes dodged the spell, regaining himself with his advantage of Scorpius pausing before trying to disarm him. He flicked his wand angrily, indignantly embarrassed at being caught by the eyebrow jinx.

"Levicorpus!" He exclaimed, deciding that if he could catch Scorpius up in the air by his ankle, he would have the chance to do all sorts of horrible disfiguring things to his face.

The spell caught him up rapidly, and Scorpius lurched forward but could not break it's hold. His body began to twist of it's own accord, turning him almost entirely upside down by his ankles. His first thought was, Thank Merlin I'm wearing trousers today! as his robes began to gather, but his next was furious revenge.

"Incendio!" He all but hissed, aiming to light the hem of Wes' robes on fire- hoping the time it took to extinguish the flames would give him to chance to get back on the ground.

Wes had stepped forwards the moment Scorpius' feet lifted off the ground, a smug smile on his face as he was sure he was about to get some excellent revenge. It faded instantly as Scorpius' spell caught the bottom of his robes and they instantly burst into flames.
"FUCK!" He cried, leaping back, trying to pat out the flames before quickly casting aguamenti, extinguishing the fire whilst simultaneously soaking his shoes, "Oh fuck you Malfoy!"

Scorpius took the opportunity to cast a rapid counter-spell, which caused him to drop rather hard to the ground- it hurt a bit, but he was still grinning wickedly when he got to his feet.

"Fuck you, Longbottom." He crowed back. He blamed the fact that blood was still rushing to his head from his inversion for not being able to come up with anything more clever than that. "But, let me help you with that spell there- Aguamenti!"

"Sonovva-" He managed before the jet hit him square on the chest. He stumbled back, a sudden flash of deja vu. Coughing and now completely drenched, Wes was angry. Very angry!
"Glacius!" He called over the stream, the blue sparks from his wand catching the jet of water surging from Scorpius' wand, freezing it in a great icy arch. Eyes flashing with anger, he pushed his wet hair out of his eyes and flicked his wand towards the ground just in front of where scorpius was standing.
"EXPULSO!" He roared, hopig the explosion would send Scorpius flying.

"Protego!" Scorpius screamed, feeling his throat go raw as he tried to put as much force as possible into the protective spell, pushing it past the ice that had overcome the tip of his wand.

The groud just in front of him went up in peices, but Scorpius remained unscathed behind his sheild. His blood was boiling at this point, and it would not have surprised Scorpius if his grey eyes turned red with rage.

"Incarcerous!" He countered, this time sending real robes that would bind Wes, rather than simple pulling him forward. If he could tie the bastard's hand down then Scorpius would have time to think of a horriblee enough spell to use.

Students. Rowdy, idiotic students. Professor Rakow had heard the clamoring of spells from his open window as he was attempting to focus on the decipherment of an old parchment. Turning around sharply, he saw the two boys, hurling birds and ice cubes at one another. he groaned to himself and shook his head, his blood boiling in his face. Always one to end an amateur duel between students, Professor Rakow grabbed his wand, locked his office door, and swiftly made his way down.

It seemed he had got there in time. The Longbottom boy had been bound by ropes and the Malfoy boy looked about ready to finish him off.

"ENOUGH." He called in his enhanced, bellowing voice. "OFF WITH IT, RIGHT NOW." His face was red as he walked toward them now that they were in his line of sight. Never one to be light on punishment, Professor Rakow was annoyed with the fact that he had to get out of his office to deal with this mess and he quite wanted these boys to clearly understand this fact.

Ropes! Shit! Wes was wrapped up before he could stop them, too busy blocking the odd bits of debris from the explosion. He panicked as he was wrapped, and opened his mouth to shout a long stream of obscenities at Scorpius when another voice filled the air. He turned, arms pinned to his sides by the rope, to see Professor Rakow heading towards them.
"Shit-" He murmured, taking a few steps back, "This isn't what it looks like!"
What it looked like, he was sure, was himself and Scorpius Malfoy trying to kill each other. He wasn't sure there was much of an excuse that would cover it. DADA practice maybe?
"He started it!" He blurted before he could stop himself, no matter how childish it was.

Scorpius dropped his arms immediately to his sides and froze in his steps, trying to carry it off as though he had not just been advancing with murderous intent on the now bound Wes.

All new spells died on his lips but, with one glance of the professors livid face, he murmured a quick "finite Incantium" as watched as the robes unwound themselves from the Gryffindor and disappear.

At Wes' accusation, Scorpius show him a harsh glare, but he decided to wait a moment before speaking himself.

"I don't care who started it," the professor advanced with a dangerous sneer in his face. "All I see is two gape jawed idiots who find their jollies hurling boyish spells at each other!" As he stood over them, he gave both boys a well aimed clock on the back of their heads.

"Longbottom. Malfoy. Follow me. Now." He spat at them before turning. Rakow wasn't interested in apologies or explainations.

Wes winced as his was hit, and rubbed the back of his head gently, his expression not doing much to cover the obvious cogs turning in his head, searching for a way to wriggle out of being punished. He'd done it a thousand times before, but most of those times he hadn't been caught in the act.
Reluctantly, knowing the alternative would've been a lot worse, Wes followed Rakow, throwing a dirty look at Scorpius as he did so. His day had been looking quite up until he'd showed his face.

Rubbing his head at the blow Scorpius sneer back when Wes caught his eye, but fell into step behind the professor. What bad luck, he couldn't help thinking to himself, that Rakow hadn't come just a minute later then he did-- Scorpius could have really put Longbottom in his place once and for all.

Professor Rakow led the two boys back into the East Tower, where his office lay. However, instead of walking up the stairs to the third floor where he usually resided when he wasn't teaching classes, he walked downstairs, into the basement of the Tower. As the descended the steps, they passed floor after floor until natural sunlight pierced the steps only in bare, weak shafts. Eventually, torches appeared and illuminated their path.

"Move quickly and with confidence," he warned. "If you even make a single misstep on these stairs, you will no doubt descend into a darkness where not even your mothers would dare to call out your shameful names."

At the very bottom of the steps, they reached a set of large, old wooden doors. With a tap of his wand, the doors creaked open, revealing a leaky dungeon illuminated by a single green torch, filled top to bottom with grimy flasks of all shapes and sizes.

Rakow turned to the two teenagers behind him. "Boys. Wands." He said, his face looking rather severe in the green light.

Wes silently followed, trying to avoid falling into step with Scorpius. He was secretly already plotting his revenge for Scoripus getting him another detention under his belt. It'd be something sticky, he decided. He was barely looking where he was going until Rakow warned them. It was then that he realised they were in a part of the school he'd never been in before. He didn't make a point of going to the dungeons at the best of times.
"What's this?" He asked as he pulled his wand out of his pocket, his tone a little more rebellous than he intended, but hell, it was a nice day and he was apparently going to be locked in a dungeon or something! Well, he'd complain to his dad later on, that was for sure!
"Professor we were just practising-" He tried.

Scorpius did not even try to hind his revulsion as the descended into this dank part of the castle. what the fuck? The professor couldn't possibly expect them to stay down here for any length of time. Sure, as a Slytherin Scorpius spent more than enough time in the school dungeons, but this was hardly the same thing at all!

Scorpius handed over his wand, reluctantly but not seeing any other option at the moment. "Professor," He began, completely ignoring Wes' attempt, "Longbottom accused me of killing Lysander, not just finding him...I haven't gotten over it, and I reacted a little violently, but.."

Since discovering the two in the heat of a duel earlier, Professor Rakow's patience had hardly grown. He cut them short of their explanations. There was no excuse that would bring upon either of them his mercy.

"Tut! Not another word out of you two! I don't care if he attempted to kill your mother!" He said as he grabbed their wands, turning around to walk past the threshold. "Do you know where we are?" He didn't wait for their answers. "This is a volatile potions cabinet. Some of these vials, they are centuries old, brewed once in a millennia and never more."

The Professor walked up to a creaky looking green shelf, filled top to bottom with similar looking vials. "These are old transfiguratory potions. I want you to take all of these vials and put them into that box," he pointed to a nearby box with a few vials in them; clearly a job he tried to start. "When you are finished, I want you to bring them back into my office. The stairs will know when you've finished the job correctly and bring you up without dropping the box."

"Don't you dare try to steal one of these vials because I have each and every one of them cataloged in my mind. And I would avoid breaking them too," The Professor plucked one of the vials from the very top and dipped the boys' wands into the it. In a puff of grey smoke, the two wands turned into tiny black rats. He stuffed them into his pocket. He took an hourglass out in its place.

"I'll keep these for now. You have until the hourglass is through to finish this job. If not, I'm shutting the doors and you get to spend the rest of the night on these moldy floors. Understood?"
