The valentine's party didn't end up going quite the way Jim had thought it might. Though in truth, he'd thought he'd go and people watch for a little while and maybe have a few conversations before he headed home. Instead he'd ended up sharing what ended up being a pretty flirtatious dance with Alexis and they'd talked each other into going home together before suddenly she disappeared. He'd thought maybe he'd misread the situation, or - well he wasn't sure. Maybe the mist had come for her the way it did for so many people. But in the end it seemed things were just a little bit more complicated for Alexis than he could have guessed.
They'd figured things out though, deciding to try dinner rather than simply going home together. And while Jim wasn't totally sure about dating here, at least not seriously, he didn't have to jump to any conclusions about dinner. So he'd gotten himself pulled together and made his way out to meet Alexis at the little restaurant he'd found over the weekend, sending her the details the day before. If he was here for much longer he ought to consider getting a vehicle or something, maybe a motorcycle. But for now he was just fine walking where he needed to get to.
Jim arrived early, not obscenely so, but just enough that he was waiting outside the restaurant when Alexis arrived, greeting her with a warm smile. "Thanks for giving me a second chance," He said after they'd found their table. "I swear I'm not too awful at this sort of thing."
