So it's official. We're halfway there because twins are considered full term earlier than singletons. It's scary as hell, but exciting at the same time. Fetal anatomy scans soon. Before long we'll know whether we're having mermaids or dragons, and I'm super excited to find out.

P.S. I will literally pay someone to deliver me a large hot chocolate from Java Chip. (It's not coffee, Nina!) And a giant banana blueberry muffin. And jalapeno poppers from Grandma's. There's an extra tip in it for you if you don't judge me.

How has it gone by so quickly?

I'm not sure. It seems impossible. I think the holidays helped to make things feel like they're speeding along.

Probably. The holidays always seem to go by in a blur.

I've already been sketching ideas for something I want to paint for them, speaking of the mermaids vs dragons thing.

Yeah, and then January is sort of hanging on after the rush of the holidays, dragging everyone along into the new year.

Ohhh, can I know about the thing? Or is it a surprise thing? I'm giving you super fair warning that whenever this painting is finished, I'm going to cry. I'm fairly certain my emotions know no bounds. I popped a button off of an old shirt this morning and it was apparently a tragedy, despite the fact that I do - in fact - know how to reattach buttons.

You can know about the thing. Well, I might not show you what I settle on, but I can show you my ideas. Honestly, I'm going to cry too. There are teardrops scattered over the sketches as it is. Despite the fact that you'll probably be able to wear the old shirt again one day? You weren't kidding.

I think that just goes to show that we Grants have a great capacity for putting our hearts into everything we do. Yes, despite that. The worst part is that once it gets going, I have a hard time stopping. Thankfully it's not a daily occurrence. I can just about guarantee that I'll cry about things that would normally tug on my heartstrings a little, though. The irrational times are just harder to predict. Hormones are weird.

I'll keep these videos of cute puppies to myself.

Now I want a hot chocolate from Java Chip. What have you done?

I'm just sharing my cravings in hopes that if I'm suffering from this insatiable appetite, others will join me. Although, to be totally fair, I usually just stuff myself on fresh fruit and veggies. If I was craving something like pizza, I might actually gain that other pound you told me I should strive for. Today I'm feeling the sweet and spicy all at once, though.

Perhaps what you need is a good veggie pizza?

I tend to put full faith in your suggestions. I mean, at this point I'm kind of considering a veggie pizza as doctor's orders. Maybe that will be dinner.

Bless you, Eve Ritter. It's not even than I'm incapable of leaving the house. It's just that I'm in a very comfortable pile of blankets. If you want to join me for snacks in aforementioned blanket pile, you're welcome to!

That sounds like a terrible combination, pretty girl. But I'm hoping for unicorns, myself.

Be glad I'm not eating pickle chips mixed in chocolate ice cream. Yet. I can't fault you for that. Unicorns are really majestic.

Is morning sickness contagious? Because that made me a little nauseous...

They are. Asco may be jealous, though, now that I think about it.

It's not contagious, but you might be experiencing "sympathy" symptoms. #sorrynotsorry

We can't have that. His feelings are very fragile.

Why do I feel like I need to go apologize to him right this minute?

Should I only tell you about my "normal" cravings?

I'm 100% sure it has absolutely nothing to do with the fact that the probability of me turning him into a unicorn in the future has exponentially increased.

I would consider the fruit and veggies to be fairly normal whereas dipping chips in pudding was not.

I'm just going to let you anticipate this. It could happen tomorrow or a decade from now.
