[As Spock]

Begin transmission. First officer Spock aboard the USS Enterprise (NCC-1701). Status: all senior officers and command-level junior officers other than Captain James Kirk and myself are presumed missing. In the event that this transmission is relayed to any or all missing crew members, report to the command deck immediately for processing.

[He pauses, with Nyota's name on his lips.]

It appears that further irregularities in time and space have resulted in the transportation of my consciousness into the mind of one who inhabits a primitive Earth, specifically Las Vegas, Nevada (36.1208° N, 115.1722° W). No scientific explanation has been recovered as of this transmission, although this officer has several incomplete theories. Further information is required before a report may be compiled and submitted to the Captain. It also appears that a prolonged presence aboard the USS Enterprise will result in my abrupt and unwilling transportation through the door which has led me here.

I find this most unsettling.

Even more curious are the incoherent transmissions of ancient Earth inhabitants which appear on this device with an alarming frequency. I find them both tedious and difficult to comprehend, and would greatly appreciate the assistance of any linguistic specialists who are able to assist in my efforts at translation.

[Again, he cannot help but think of her.]

Reports to follow as I learn more. End transmission.

Less science and more sociology, Spock. [Very slight pause.] You should talk to that girl, Val. She'll tell you everything you want to know.
