public.
[as Peggy C.; the handwriting is feminine but sharp and to the point.]

It seems as though I've been misplaced. To whom am I reporting to now?

[Peggy C is pretty average as far as name-initial combinations go, but the incident with Pym makes him reply to this, even though he knows it's not her. As Steve R.]

I'm afraid there's no reporting structure to speak of here, Ma'am.

[Steve R. is also pretty common, but that doesn't stop her heart from skipping a beat. A slight pause.] There must be a reporting structure. There always is.

Not for civilians. They don't like reporting structures very much.

Reporting structures, mostly. Civilians can't help not knowing better.

[He still isn't sure it isn't another of Pym's trick. Peggy, twice in one week? Too coincidental.] Things here aren't exactly normal, General Carter. That Steve you knew, was he a good dancer?

I gather that this is your rank and title.

I'm General Mustang, though it seems we're from either different times, places, or both. I imagine it cannot be easy finding yourself here, and the young man above is certainly not seeming to help matters.

As a military woman, I imagine you've seen quite a number of difficult men. I applaud the women who can tolerate us. My own personal assistant, First Lieutenant Riza Hawkeye, is irreplaceable.
