in person - UMC: neil/sam
[The nurses were big on staying calm, which Neil admittedly hadn't managed very well since he'd woken up raving about Chloe and how he wanted her arrested. But he was being a good boy now. For the most part, at least. He'd been warned after hanging up with Sam that added stress in his condition was a risk and, well, he got the message.
As promised, he wasn't moving. The machines beeped quietly and he was still hooked up to all those lovely IVs, and okay, maybe he didn't look the best. Tired and pale, not his usual self, but at least he wasn't on death's doorstep. The suddenness of Sam's arrival surprised him, and his head jerked up in surprise; nobody just barged into his room like that.
After a few seconds and a lingering once-over that made him frown, he managed a weak smile.] Hey. See? I'm not dying.
