[A sigh, and she sounds like she's trying not to get upset.] It was. We tried to get back here so many times, but we just couldn't. So we fought for years and years, and we thought we could save these people but they died anyway. [Rubbing her eyes. Thickly.] I made a lot of mistakes, and I fucked up just as often as I did something good, and I almost died. And then I almost lost Eddie, too.
