Gotham Zoo, in person: Bruce/Selina

[Getting to the zoo with the girls had been a little tiring, and she was hoping Dr. Banner would come through with a place to stay after, maybe some painkillers and something to take the edge off. But that was a concern for later. Just then, she was sitting atop the lion keeper's house, wondering what the zoo really looked like. She saw well-fed animals, and she saw grass that was so green it brightened up the Gotham night. The animals, slumbering in their enclosures, were healthy and hale. She wondered if that, too, was a lie. She was dressed in red and black, her cape lined with bright yellow (or so she thought), goggles atop her head and a whip low against her hips. And she wondered, not for the first time, if this was a very bad idea.]

[Bruce was under no delusions as to just how bad of an idea this was. He knew, but he was doing it anyway. He really did believe he might not have this chance again and while it wouldn't help matters, well, he decided just this once he could be a little selfish. Surely he was at least owed that.

Better the trio was at the zoo than elsewhere, and despite just how badly ties between the Batfamily currently were he did have faith that, for this, they would work together. Afterward was an entirely different story. Later, though He could deal with that later. As for the zoo, it was somewhere between absolute ruin and the perfect vision Selina saw. Public places usually were better kept; money went to that which was seen, and that which fed into the economy, and a popular place like the zoo couldn't afford to be left to fall apart. The grass wasn't quite so bright, and the animals, while not emaciated and sick, were only decently cared for. It was a place meant to keep them captive, after all. Sometimes Bruce felt sorry for them, trapped in their enclosures, but it was a fleeting thing, there one second and gone the next.

Finding her wasn't difficult. He watched her for a few seconds before stepping out of the shadows between cages, head tipped back to look up at her.] Selina.

[Even feeling a badly as she did, she heard him approach. Maybe that was something learned in that Gotham she didn't remember? But she didn't move. She let him watch, and she knew he was watching. When he finally moved out of the shadows, she smiled, and it was very much the same fond smile that had graced her lips since this madness with the "perfect Gotham" had begun. Sadder, perhaps, still fevered a little, but fond.] I was wondering how long you were going to stay out of sight.

	[Of course she knew he was there. He shouldn't have expected anything different. Her smile, still fond, was a tiny pinpoint of brightness in the dark, and while his expression was (intentionally) difficult to read in the cowl his voice held the hint of a smile when he spoke.] One day I'll manage to sneak up on you.
