What did you and your girlfriend do about people disapproving of your relationship together?

Aggressively make out.

What's the whole story? Are you the one causing the disapproval? Oh, hoh.

My brothers vehemently disapprove of the guy I've been seeing. As in, I'm making a huge mistake and they're to save me from it, or he will hurt me and then I'll know how horrible he was.

And I don't know what to do.

He's the brother of someone who's caused issues on the other side of the door. But he's really sweet to me, and he makes me feel really good. He's charming, he enjoys buying me presents, and he makes me laugh. A lot.

Well, there's a good chance he's a creep. I mean, if I heard Stephanie was shacking up with the Riddler, I'd assume he was being a creep.

Does he take you away from your family?

No, he doesn't. He doesn't say anything about my family, at all.

I'm extremely self aware. I used to run around with biker sluts. Creep material.

He's not curious about them?

That doesn't make you a creep.

He knows them. Our families have known one another for a long while, so he doesn't need to ask after them. My brothers, on the other hand, seem so obsessed with their family, with how horrible they think they are. And I'm conflicted. I feel like I'm going to lose my brothers if I'm with Alexander.

How about when I was broke I used to crash at Stephanie's dad's house? Just me, a fold out couch and my two biker sluts. I am pretty sure I went a full month just hanging out in a bathrobe, mooching off her dad whilst making him think he was going to get a fair share of whatever heist I was going to plan next.

Honestly, you shouldn't take the risk unless you care about this guy. There's plenty of people who can make you feel good for a whole lot less stress. [...] Though, I got to be honest I'm kind of curious why your families don't like each other. I watch a lot of British period dramas.

Okay, the biker sluts make it a little creepy, but... I don't know. I don't judge. You seem like a good guy beneath it all.

That's the thing. I do care about him. And that's what makes it so hard. I haven't cared about anyone quite like this since my late-husband. [...] My brother, Neil, used to date his sister, Chloe. And Chloe wants him back, I guess. I try to stay out of it, honestly. Well, Neil's girlfriend, my friend, Sam, got shot the other day. She's in the hospital, and Neil and my brothers think Alexander's family was behind it.

I don't know if they were or weren't. But I like to believe they weren't until something comes up to show that's different. I don't like to assume.

There's a lot of bad stuff to get through before you get to anything good. Or at least, that's how it was. I'm much easier to get along with than I used to be. Which isn't saying m

Oh [Blink.] Assuming is half the fun of being a person. You don't really think her sister shot that girl, right?

That seems like a bad idea.

Well, if I were you I'd get to knowing. It's one thing to reserve judgement until you have facts available, it's another to sit back and wait for someone else to do it for you.

It hasn't led me wrong very often.

Our families are already enough at odds with one another without me poking my nose around. I wouldn't even know where to start. I'm not known for my investigative abilities.

Well, look. You may not know this guy very well and you've got a good heart which, while you may not want to admit it, is a point against finding out if he's a creep or not. But, even if he turns out to be alright, your family may never really accept him. I don't expect Christmas cards from Stephanie's family, you know what I'm saying?

It doesn't matter as much to me that they accept him as that they at least respect my choice and don't try to make me feel like the most horrible person around for being involved with someone they don't like. I shouldn't have to chose between him and my family.

If you belong to a family that has a rivalry with another and all your siblings are pretty sure they had something to do with a recent murder attempt, wouldn't be in your best interest to wait a little while? See what shakes out?

Not the answer I wanted to hear, but probably the one that's correct.

I got a room on my own. I don't even know if they'll call me when they hear anything about Sam at this point.

Nothing I can't handle. Things aren't great with the bats and it's hurting Stephanie. Which makes me worry about her even though I've grown to generally not care for her brood.
