Maeko, small box of ice-cream mochi in her arms, arrived at the dorm room she'd used to share with Misa exactly half an hour after she'd sent the last message. She tested the door, it was indeed unlocked.

"You okay in here?" She asked, poking her head through the door before entering.

"I can't relly answer those questions, not being him and all. It'll probably be better once you get back out into the world, but you don't have to just yet."

Maeko stood slowly and picked up the box of mochi from what had been her desk.

"I got strawberry and melon flavours. You're okay with those, right?" She said, sitting back down with an open box and holding it out to Misaki.

	Misaki nodded slowly and sighed, "I hope so. I'm going to have to really not think about like, who he's hanging around with." She nodded and took a melon from the box and smiled sadly at Maeko, "And here I thought that maybe going back to my real hair and stuff would...I don't know...I thought he would like it better." 	Maeko's expression hardenned. Not enough to be fierce or unwelcoming but the rare warmth she'd been expressing into now definitely cooled considerably. "You didn't do all that just for him, did you? You have to make choices like that for yourself." (Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)

"Huh? No, I wanted to do it, I just thought that he might like me better like this in a way. I thought getting it done might make me look more mature, and I thought that maybe he might have liked my hair like that. Or at least I had hoped he would have." Misaki blushed some and sighed.

"But he...he said it was better when we were friends. I don't know, maybe. I screwed up, and I know it. I just wish he would have given me a chance to prove that I could be a better girlfriend to him." She shook her head.

Misaki nodded, "It wasn't. Do you think it looks good? I mean I like it, but I don't want people to think it's too weird you know."

"That's true. Guess it's something I have to remember. Life isn't always like a video game, you don't get restarts and you can't save things, and there are no second chances against bosses. But like," she unwrapped the melon mochi, "I think that if that did happen we wouldn't learn right?"

Misaki nodded and took a bite of the mochi, gave a quick squeek seeing it was cold then let it melt in her mouth before swallowing.

"It feels strange, but..." she pulled up a lock of hair, "I kind of like it. Shows both sides of me, rather then just the one I guess."

Laughing Misaki nodded, "Yeah, I always thought it really was the worst thing in the world to like mess up. I mean, I know it's not good to keep doing it. I've learned that. But like, I always thought that I shouldn't mess up at all. Like it was never okay to make a mistake."

	"I'm glad you're happy with it, then." Maeko said, nodding. "That's one true at all. It's pretty normal to screw up, you just have to be able to recognise the difference between sucess and failure so you know what to fix next time." (Reply to this) (Parent)
