Who: Everyone
What: Something very unfortunate
Where: Second Year Classroom, Nanakamado
When: Friday morning.
Why: I'm sure everyone wants to know.

The english teacher looked like she'd seen a ghost. Two more teachers had showed up when she'd screamed, the first of them leading the trembling woman away from the classroom. The second stood in the doorway, instucting the students to keep back.

Behind him in the classroom, slumped over the desk that had previously been his, was the body of Sato Kei.

"Call an ambulance while you're there!" He shouted down the hall to his workmates. "The cops, too!"

A crowd of students was starting to develop outside. Some of them were second years trying to get into thier classroom. Others had been drawn by the scream, the shouting or the crowd. The teacher in the doorway shook his head.

"Back to your classrooms. All of you."

“Real tearjerker,” the banchou replied, rolling his eyes and muttering something about the suicide rate in an amazing display of compassion. Had that callous disregard for death been bred into him, or had he assimilated it after watching a couple of movies and doing his best to emulate his pops? It didn’t matter where it came from, it was something he’d already had to put to use. Death was no stranger to his extended family.

Reizo turned away from the classroom and picked out a few faces he recognized in the crowd; Ikeda was the only one whose full name he could recall, but there was also the boy who’d he’d just spoken to -- time to make acquaintances.

“Oi, dead folk that interesting, senpai?” The word was spat out at the end of his sentence as if it were something foul and poisonous as he found himself staring over the shorter(?) boy’s shoulder again.

[Yeah, he's shorter than Reizo, no worries!]

For a moment, Yuu tried to think of a way to respond to that remark that wasn't insulting or rude; nothing came to mind, so he simply let it slide. Still, who in the world would say something like that?

That time, he managed to get a better look inside, recognizing the boy, although the name did not come immediately to mind. Then Reizo abruptly addressed him. "What?" He turned away from the room, looking up towards him. "It isn't just that he's dead, I kind of know him. He was in music club, I think. He played the cello." Poorly, he thought, but kept that to himself.

He had half a mind to ask him if he found it that fascinating too, given that he was still hovering over the place, snarling out questions and remarks, but he placed some value in his health.

“Fascinating,” he answered nonplussed, amusement draining from his face until his eyes dropped to the case the other boy was carrying. A grin split his face in half, turning it into something altogether wolfish and threatening; it was full of hateful promise and malicious daring.

“So you’re in band, senpai?” That word again in the same exact tone. Like he was spitting it into Yuu’s face. “You better be careful with that thing. Looks like it means something to you.” His tone was light and amiable, but the way he was staring at it lent his words a whole other meaning. “If anyone messes with it or you, don’t be afraid to tell your kohai. I live to serve.”

He patted the other boy on the shoulder, a little harder than necessary and walked away, moseying through the path in the crowd that appeared in front of him with his hands stuck deep in his pockets. Whispers about the encounter threaded through the crowd, but were quickly replaced with the previous topic: the dead boy.

Reizo paused and waved at Yuu over his shoulder then disappeared down the steps to the first year’s floor.

At the thinly-veiled threat, Yuu tensed unconsciously, drawing his violin case closer to his body; but he resolved himself not to show fear or anger. "Thank you for your concern, Shirai-san," he answered back, knowing Reizo would probably lash out if he were referred to by anything that would imply a lower status. "I'll bear that in mind."

He nodded to the wave, waiting until he was just out of sight to relax. Before he could speak, however, the intercom crackled to life as one of the staff spoke a brief message. Once it finished, he headed for Science Lab 1, now that his curiosity had been satisfied.

It was a terrible thing, after all. Such a terrible thing.
