Entry tags:tom

Who: Tom and the Iburi police department
What: Tom is sneeeeaking
Where: Police station
When: shortly after that dude got arrested
Why: Cause there is more going on then we realized

Tom was prepared as he walked into the police station. He was armed with... a letter. The fake letter he'd gotten from the "killer" so long ago. He'd long since come up with a theory on who wrote the letter, but he could use it to justify why he was there.

The truth of why he was there though would be obvious to anyone who knew him. He was looking for information. He slipped past police offers, and moved through the hallways. The key was to look like you knew where you were going, and to slip by without drawing much attention to yourself. And so Tom began what was perhaps the stupidest infultration of his life.

Man, this gig is such a drag. Even the coffee machine's busted now.

No use bitching about it when it's your own fault it's broken. Kicking machinery never solves problems.

Actually, kicking machinery always solves problems. It worked on the polygraph and the lounge TV last week!

...you kicked the POLYGRAPH? No wonder you never get promoted. You'll always just be a beat cop.

Fine with me. More time for donuts and coffee. So, did any of you guys get information out of that punk kid? I heard he caused some trouble here.

Not really. We grilled the kid for over two hours. He spent most of it rambling about how cool he was. Those delinquent groups are getting more annoying by the minute.

Do I ALWAYS have to be the one who talks about matters of substance around here? You guys act like you're just here for the free coffee.

And the free donuts. Can't forget them.

ANYWAY, when we took the kid in, we confiscated his knife. It had blood on it, but only on the blade. Looked like he slashed at someone, but didn't stab them with it.

Wait, so he slashed the other kid with the knife? We've got an assault case on our hands. We just need to figure out who the kid he attacked is. Anyone come forward yet?

No, and I don't think anyone will. Kid's a member of a gang. Probably doesn't want to get the gang's ire by coming forward.

I'll have people check the hospitals just in case, but the amount of blood on the knife leads me to believe it's not serious.

If we have blood on the knife, why don't we just run the DNA?

We know it's a Nanakamado student. The old lady witness said she saw the other kid wearing the summer uniform. Tall, thin kid. We've got a profile, at least. We could go to the school and ask.

...hey, you don't think it's related to the death of that other student and the gym teacher, do you?

Probably not. This is a punk kid from a gang working alone. He told us he just wanted to take the other kid's wallet. But there's a lot about this story that doesn't make any sense at all.

What do you mean? It was an assault and attempted robbery. Nice and simple. Easy motive.

Yeah, but something that kid said bothered me. I'm taking a drive down to the crime scene to scope it out for myself and check out his story. I'll be back later, but something makes me think something fishy is going on here.

Have fun with that. I'll be here with the donuts. I hear Moondollars delivers coffee nowadays. I'll get us a Sack O Sumatran for when you get back.
