Honestly, the whole exchange had read like Misaki trying to come up with an excuse when called out of unnacceptable behaviour but Maeko was willing to take that risk if it meant potentially defusing a shadow situation.

So she found herself back in the dorms, outside Kanaye and Toru's dorm room, knocking sharply on the door.

"Senpai, you in there?"

	"That's..." Maeko trailed off, aware tyhat she'd said 'stupid' about 60 times in the last minute or so. Then brief, awkward silence as she tried to come up with an answer to that. 	"No there isn't." Maeko said, just being contrary now. She had to think hard to remember how the conversation had even reached this point. "I...I'm really glad you're not over there. 	"...Of course, Maeko-chan." Kanaye didn't bother to ask why. He knew he wouldn't get an answer. Instead, he leaned over, hugging Maeko, and kissed her forehead. At the very least, she'd reject him. 	Maeko didn't react for a second, having to process that. Whne she did react she pulled herself away and stood up, taking a step back and trying to say 'what the hell', 'cut it out' and 'why are you-' all at the same time. (Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)

	That had not, Maeko decided once the shock wore off, been an appropriate reaction. "...I- I'm sorry. I still didn't..." Maeko said afer a few moments of silence, touching her fingertips against her forehead gingerly. "I'm glad you're safe. Sorry I bothered you. I should go. I'll talk to you later."
