Who: Maeko, Gendou. Kanaye may be hanging around somewhere?
What: OI
Where: Skypark
When: Early evening.
Why: EXCUSE ME COULD YOU STOP LYING.

Maeko wanted Gendou to be responsible for this. Because if he was it meant she hadn't beem quite as gulliable in trusting Misaki ever. It still seemed unlikely, Misaki's blaming him seemed like a stunt to avoid the blame herself, but right now he was the only person who was blameable.

So, dammit, he was being blamed.

She'd told him she needed to talk to him about council business and waited at the skypark. The fact that she could see her appartment block from here was why she'd chosen this meeting place and it was a sign of agression, though not one that was likely to be read. This was her territory. Not the school, where Gendou was boss. She could see her house from here and in Maeko's mind that meant she was in charge.

She sat quietly on a bench, checking through her messages, and waited for Gendou to show up.

Kanaye smiled. "Well, you can always have hope, right? It's not like it'll make things worse!"

"Something wrong, Maeko-chan?" he asked, worriedly.

"It might. He'll retaliate and then I'll retailiate again and so on." She sighed.

"I'm- I'm fine. I just promised myself that I wouldn't do stuff like that anymore. And I just did. And then I'm yelling again. Ito was right, I really am a psychopath." The slow, choked sound that was slowly seeping into her voice and the slowly increasing speed of her speech was somewhat at odds with the 'fine' claim.

Kanaye sighed. "Well, just don't retaliate! Be the better person! That usually works! It'll just leave him to simmer."

...Oh dear. Kanaye really had no idea what to do, so he leaned down and hugged Maeko. It'd make him feel better, at least. "It's alright, Maeko-chan. You're not a psychopath. You're just headstrong, that's all. Psychopath is way too strong. Don't think you're a psychopath, Maeko-chan!"

"I can't just accept it and let him-"

...and hug. And temporary complete inability to think.

"...Headstrong's still bad. Girls shouldn't be stubborn. It's against some kind of rule or something." She managed weakly. And then, as if trying to be contrary and send horribly mixed messages...

"...don't touch me." She mumbled, returning the hug in a way that was more clutching and possessive than affectionate. As if that would make everything that had been said about Kozue go away or at least make it so she had any right at all to care.

"It's a stupid rule then! You should just be yourself, Maeko-chan. No one else."

He was rather surprised when she returned the hug. It was rather...clutching, in all, but quite frankly, Kanaye would take anything he could get. "It's alright, Maeko-chan..."

"But I don't want to be-" And Maeko became impossible to enderstand there, mumbling something about 'stupid. stupid. stupid.'.

She wasn't quite willing to let go. Not becuase this whole thing wasn't awkward (because it was really, really awkward) but because of a sudden fear that the second she did Kozue would come along and god, Gendou had managed to make her paranoid about this. She maintained her vice grip.

Kanaye just hugged her more. Quite frankly, he was enjoying this. "It's ok, Maeko-chan. It's alright. Don't worry. I'm here for you..." He squeezed to show his support.

Maeko finally ceased her incomprehensable mumbling. Had she said anything of importance? The world would never know (and it was unlikely, given her current frame of mind.)

Gingerly, she started to loosen her grip. It was, she finally seemed to remember, kind of a public place. She didn't quite let go, though, not feeling safe to.

"What he said about Kondo-san. That was all stupid, right? I know you're friends but..."

Kanaye sighed. "Is that what you're worried about, Maeko-chan?" He shook his head. "We're friends. Nothing more. Nothing less. She has a boyfriend, anyway. You're the only one for me...if you want me back, of course." He backpedaled, though he wondered why Maeko would bother to ask if she didn't want him back.

"You ok?" he asked, wanting to make sure.

Maeko almost seemed relieved and felt secure enough to let go.

"I've been worse." She said, smiling a little too easily. "I-I guess I'm just out of prctice with dealing with him. It'd be easier trying to get answers out of a brick or something."

Kanaye let go as well and stood up. "Seriously. Well, if he gives you any trouble at all, and you don't think you can handle it, or you just want to complain to someone...I'll be here. Alright?" He smiled.

Maeko shook her head. "I'll be fine, I don't need your help. But thank you anyway."

"Sorry I dragged you into all this." She sighed. "Knowing Retsu it's not impossible that there'll be more stories about you popping up again."

"If you insist, Maeko-chan. I think you can handle it, but I just wanna be sure!"

"Oh, no worries. You get used to it." He shrugged. "There's nothing he could do that could hurt me."

"I'll be fine." Maeko repeated, shrugging. "Retsu's the only person I ever won a fight against."

"You sure? Okay then." She smiled. "I'll try to shut people up if I hear anything weird."
