Who: Masami and Tom

Masami had been worried about Tom's... foolhardiness for quite a while now, and ever since going into Renju's area of Paradise, she'd been particularly bothered by it. She had taken him back to his room in the dorms just after the battle with Renju's shadow, but hadn't brought up the issue then; he was obviously exhausted and sick, and she didn't want to keep him from sleeping. In fact, she'd even stayed at his dorm until she was certain that he was going straight to bed, since she really wouldn't put it past Tom to find something else that he thought needed checking out, and pushing himself to stay up even longer despite his illness and tiredness.

However, hopefully a day of rest had helped Tom on both accounts, and so today she was going to hopefully get him to curb his foolhardy tendencies. With that thought in mind, she knocked on the door to his room. "It's Masami. Are you there, Sagaki-senpai?"

Tom was there, and he was asleep. He had in fact been asleep since Masami walked him back. He'd stayed awake long enough to strip off his damaged and wet clothes, and climbed into bed.

Now Max licking his face to let him know that someone was at the door was the only reason he was even roused. He climbed out of bed, and yanked the blanket off of it to wrap around his shoulders.

Max followed him, quickly hopping down and slipping under the bed as Tom had taught him. Tom stumbled to the door. He hadn't been together enough to set up his booby traps the night before so didn't need to remove them. He was also not together enough to realize the danger he had put himself in. He cracked the door and blinked at Masami.

"Sakur... mmmsami... Hi.." He coughed quickly, and then shook his head. "... is someone else Paradised?"

	"Eh? No... nobody else is in Paradise..." Masami answered. She noticed Tom's apparent grogginess and bowed. "Umm... I'm sorry. Were you still sleeping? ...Should I come back later?" (Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)

Tom blinked at her again. He reached up and ran his fingers through his already mussy hair.

"No... is fine. I should be up..."

He had to stop and sneeze.

"... should be up already."

He waved her inside, and stepped away from the door, leaving it ajar for her. He walked up to his desk and grabbed a tissue, then blew his nose from the recent sneeze. Doing so, and keeping a hold on the blanket was hard, but not impossible.
He began rummaging through the box by the desk on covered wiht food until he found a mug, and a bottle of water. Then proceeded to pour the water into the mug before finally turning toward Masami.

"So what's up?"

As soon as Masami closed the door Max was out from under the bed. The puppy ran up to her, tail wagging. When she didn't immediately pay attention to him, he turned and ran for the bed, trotting up the books stacked on the side to be closer to her level. Belly rubs were required.

Tom meanwhile dropped into the desk chair and took a sip from the water. He had to get through another coughing fit before he looked over at her.

"Alright then... uh... what's up?"

Noticing Max, Masami went over and gave the dog a belly rub as she addressed Tom. "Well... umm... first of all, are you feeling any better? If you're sick you really should just rest."

"Also... well, Sagaki-senpai... you really need to stop rushing into things so fast. Look what happened to Ito-san... he nearly died, and the same thing or worse could have happened to you. What were you thinking, going into Sonozaki-san's area on your own like that...?"

	Tom tried to respond though a coughing fit prevented that for a moment. He took a sip of water, and tightened the blanket around himself. "Ito... Ito-san nearly died. He would have died if we'd waited. I couldn't ask anyone to go in unprepared, but I couldn't wait. Not when..." Tom looked away. "I couldn't lose anyone else." (Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)

"And because there was a rush to save him, and me. Isn't it a much better outcome to have both Ito and I in bad shape and still alive, rather then him gone and me in full health? The worst outcome of me running in alone was I ended up sick, even though I already was."

Tom looked at Masami. He blinked and was fully awake. It seemed like he was about to say something, but a coughing fit interrupted him.

"Sagaki-senpai... we would have been rushing to save Ito-san regardless of whether you ran in or not, I think. And... well, you need to take better care of yourself. Look at the state you're in, even Ito-san's recovered, but you're... probably not even fit to be out of bed, with that cough..."

Masami stopped and looked up at Tom, waiting for his coughing fit to subside. "...I'm... well I'm worried about you..."

"Worried in general or do you know of something specific?"

Tom took the moment to a sip of water.

"Like I said I was bad off before we went in, so it doesn't really impact things. And I guess..."

He frowned.

"I've never really had someone tell me to take care of myself before. I always thought I was... or I didn't need to..."

He shrugged and leaned back int he chair, to take a sip of water.

Tom shook his head. He shifted some and adjusted the blanket, he felt like the air outside of the fabric was oddly cold.

"I get myself hurt all the time. My injuries heal on their own, either that or personas can be used to deal with it. Though I am kind of confused as to why people keep telling me to rest. I take care of myself enough to be able to fight don't I? I know we all rely on each other in Paradise, but even if I'm in bad shape I won't let you guys down."

	"Sagaki-senpai... I'm not saying it because I think you'll be a burden if you're in bad shape... I'm saying it because..." Masami let out a long sigh before looking Tom straight in the eyes. Tom blinked at her. It wasn't the first time someone had said that to him. It was the first time someone had said it, and Tom didn't assume it was a flat out lie. His grip on the blanket went slack and it slipped from one of his shoulders, leaving it less wrapped around him, and more bundled around him from just under his midsection down to his knees.
He continued to look at her face, trying to read her expression. No doubt the one on his face was one of complete shock and confusion.

Finally he could only blurt out one word.

"...Why?"

	Masami still wasn't sure why she had said what she did, and the look on her own face was one to mirror Tom's(though with an added blush at seeing Tom shirtless again). A long moment of silence passed after Tom's one word sentence. At last, Masami regained her composure. "Because... you're my friend, senpai." (Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)

Masami's face flushed when Tom put his hand on hers, but it was short-lived as Tom broke out into another coughing fit. "See why you have to take better care of yourself?" she quipped, though the expression on her face was one of concern.

"Can I get you anything? I could run back to my room and make you some ginger tea... that's pretty good for coughs..." she suggested.

	Tom shook his head, and reached out, taking a sip of water. He drank deeply and then went to adjust the blanket. It took him a few minutes to figure out how to cover himself back up without... revealing more first, but he eventually managed. "I have some tea of my own I can make, but thank you Sakuraba-san.
