Who: Members and interested parties.
What: Anti-Bullying Club.
Where: Empty classroom?
When: Monday lunchtime.
Why: It's a club!

Nanakamado's Anti-Bullying Club was in session. The door opened silently and hung slightly ajar.

Kouchisei was outside. His warm palm cusped the metal door handle; he began turning it the wrong way. He stopped - what was he doing? Children were testing a silly rumour all over the school. He found such childish thoughts insulting. He dropped the handle and cast left and right. An empty corridor: good.

And that club. People told him to take it easy. It wasn't advice that worked. He didn't want to feel any worse.

So what was he to do here?

"Uh..." Toshimi wasn't sure what she'd walked into. Was the anti-bullying club just a euphemism, and what really happened there was straight-up bullying? She'd have to warn Kaori about that next time they spoke. Either way, she didn't know what she'd done to earn the large first-year's scornful glare. "I-if there's something going on here that I shouldn't be interrupting, I can go look for Yamada-san somewhere else," she said uncomfortably. But the glare continued. Toshimi averted her eyes.

She thought that she should probably have said something like, That's awfully rude language to use with your senpai, or When you ask for someone's name, you're supposed to give your own name first, and without realizing it she gave Reizo a resentful stare for a second as she thought this. But she didn't belong in this room and she didn't want to rock the boat. Looking away again, she mumbled, "I'm Class 2-B's Nawanaka Toshimi."

The look he was giving her grew harsher when she responded in kind, lips pressed into a hard, terse line. He folded his arms to keep himself from slamming a fist down onto the desk, and his expression broke into a smirk when the girl finally looked away. He glanced around the room and while the girl with the longer hair hadn’t sufficiently been cowed, it seemed the other two had-- well, they had in his opinion.

Sighing, he pushed off the desk and stood once more, seemingly unable to figure out what the hell he wanted to do with his body.

“No,” he started, wide grin overtaking his face. That stupid niggling doubt that ONE comment from the four-eyes was fading, and the boy was starting to feel better again, demonstrated well in the grin that displayed too many teeth. “Nothin’ is going on here, just a little disagreement.” The threatening tone he’d adapted melted away from his voice, leaving something once again light and airy.

“I’m Class 1-B’s Shirai Reizo.”

He paused for a second, the grin dissolving into an easy smirk.

“And you’ll be seeing a lot more of me if you join the club. Lucky you.”

Rather than watch her classmates eat, Shiori decided to wander the school. It was her own fault she had no lunch today; she had forgotten to grab her own, and it seemed like such a waste of time to stand in line for food. The school day was almost over, and she figured she could make it until the end of the day.

And then totally go home and gorge herself. Oh, man, she was drooling already!

Though Shiori could still hear voices filtering from the classrooms, she slowed to a stop in front of one room. The number seemed familiar - was there a club here or something? It wasn't band, but...

Oh! The anti-bullying club! Right!

Opening the door, Shiori took a step inside, already asking, "Hey, is the club still open? I-"

She stopped, seeing two familiar faces and one that was vaguely familiar.

"Ah, Nawanaka-san! Oubai-san! So this is where you hide at lunch!" she exclaimed, taking a step further into the room.

To the other boy, she squinted at him for a moment before widening her eyes.

"Oh! I think I've had detention with you before!" she said, smiling brightly.

"Huh?"

Kouchisei wasn't sure who he was talking to. Had Reizo really lost interest in him and focused it on another? He gritted his teeth at the emptiness in his stomach. Shiori-chan wasn't right in that he hid to eat. But what if he took his lunch and Reizo wanted it? He'd have to be more careful the next time they spoke.

He couldn't respect Reizo as he was, being a thug and a bully. Reizo was childish, aggressive and arrogant, but it was what backed up his arrogance that made him dangerous. But he couldn't erase who he was so easily.

"Yes, well, only till Reizo-san had an insane idea that will never work," he said brusqly.

Reizo snorted and rolled his eyes as Shiori meandered in. He recognized her almost instantly, who wouldn’t given the way she stood out? Was this eyesore also part of this damned club? Maybe it was just an odd day and everyone had problems crop up all at once. Seeing her reminded him vaguely of detention-- did he have it today? Probably. He didn’t go most of the time and none of the teachers bothered him for it.. He supposed just giving him detention might be harrowing enough. The thought almost made his chest puff out.

He tore his attention away from the girl and back to Kouchisei at the remark, cocking an eyebrow and giving the older boy an incredulous look. He didn’t look so ready to break something now, maybe the -san bit had done the trick.

“Whaddaya mean crazy idea? My ideas are all fantastic.”

"You're a man without, and I mean this helpfully, the patience to be in this club. Believe me on this, your energy would be better spent on baseball."

He was speaking in a polite tone he could never have imagined using. Reizo made it necessary. Thinking of him made him appear mildly irritated - hadn't he strutted around enough today? The anger made him scowl and his glasses slid down.

Kou pushed them back up. "Wakanata-san. Is there something you need? We're busy."

The unbelieving look on his face only grew, then something seemed to click and the boy started laughing. It was an .. odd sight, to see the large boy hugging his stomach in laughter.

“You think I was going to join this stupid club? I thought you glasses guys were supposed to be smart.”

He actually slapped his knee at that, laughing a little harder.

Blinking at the abrupt mood shift from her classmate, Shiori rose her hands in an attempt to placate him. Her eyes flickered over to her detention mate before going back to Oubai. Something had obviously gone between them; she didn't need to have witnessed what she did to know that.

"Whoa, sorry!" she exclaimed. "I thought I heard this was an open club, but I'm probably mistaking this for something else."

Or not. If she went back to the room now, she'd probably settle down to draw so she could take her mind off of lunch... or her lack of one. By the time Oubai and Nawanaka came back, Shiori would probably be absorbed with the paper. As she usually was when in class.

Taking a step back towards the door, she smiled brightly. "I'll see you guys in class then! And you in detention-" she nodded to the boy with the dyed hair.

Though she smiled, inwardly she was frowning. Was this another incident where she could have sworn she heard something right, but turned out to be wrong about it? Shiori could have waved it off as an honest mistake if it didn't seem to happen so much.

Then again, maybe she was just slower than most. Her grades certainly reflected that.
