Nanakamado's Anti-Bullying Club was in session. The door opened silently and hung slightly ajar.

Kouchisei was outside. His warm palm cusped the metal door handle; he began turning it the wrong way. He stopped - what was he doing? Children were testing a silly rumour all over the school. He found such childish thoughts insulting. He dropped the handle and cast left and right. An empty corridor: good.

And that club. People told him to take it easy. It wasn't advice that worked. He didn't want to feel any worse.

So what was he to do here?

"My mistake," said Toshimi. She supposed that Yamada had asked her to come with her so that she wouldn't have to face new people alone. Apparently it hadn't occurred to Yamada that if she didn't show up, then Toshimi would be in the same position. Still, if Toshimi left and she showed up later...then Yamada would think that Toshimi would be the one standing her up. And then there was the issue of getting out of this situation politely...

The easiest solution was just to stay there. She wouldn't necessarily have to participate, right? "She told me she was going to be here today, so is it all right if I wait here for here?" She stepped into the room and sat down. "If you'll excuse the interruption."
