What: Post-Paradise drinking.
When: Evening-ish?
Where: Bar, sneaking in is fun!
Why: Because shock requires alcohol.

Seiko sat at a table in a bar clinging to a drink and resting her chin on her hand. This had been one of the craziest days she had ever had. She had been thrown into a room, given a headache so bad she had wanted to die, oh and discovered she could summon some kind of Goddess with her phone. Totally normal, plus it turned out some of her class mates also had this power and were some kind of Superheros. At least she knew a few of them, and it was kind of Kanaye to come out to drink with her. She wasn't a binge drinker anymore of course, but some events made old habits come back temporarily...

"Didn't your parents notice at all?" she asked grabbing another drink and laughing just a little.

"Ah you don't want to go near drugs Kanaye-kun, they melt your brain." she pointed to her head.

"I mean it is harder for me to study because of what they've done, its not much of a picnic. The drinking though...pah that still has some fun..."

She thought for a moment. "How come Maeko-san doesn't mind you coming out drinking with me?"

Kanaye smirked. "A couple of years later, and by then I was far too gone. I tried quitting a few times, but it's never stuck."

Kanaye smiled. "I don't know, I don't think my brain can get any worse. It looks like fun, anyway. And I never study anyway. It doesn't seem to be a problem."

He blinked, and looked at Seiko oddly. "Why would she have a problem with it?" he asked earnestly.

"Everyone's brain can get worse, besides you aren't stupid...just a bit unmotivated. Pah I kind of need to study, now Dad isn't really working as a super high flying business man I'll have to make my own way in the world..." She waved her hand emphatically to make her point then sipped her drink.

"Well most girls I know get crazy when their boyfriend is anywhere with another girl, especially a girl who has my previous associations." she pointed out not very subtly.

Kanaye shrugged and drank. "I don't know, I'd say I'm rather stupid AND unmotivated. I'm like a two-for-one deal in horrible personness. Studying is overrated, really."

Kanaye laughed. "Nah, Maeko-chan knows I would never cheat on her. I mean, if she was fine with it, then I'd totally do it, but I don't really think of asking her. It's probably no, anyway. We haven't really done much ourselves."

"Nah not stupid, just..." she gestured with her drink. "You don't try to think, so you believe you can't sometimes. Ha it is okay for you to say, some of us need it to make a living..."

She took a mouthful and raised an eyebrow. "I don't think Maeko is the kind to be 'fine with it' besides even when you are with her you'd be okay with being with someone else?" she grinned.

"Man you and the old me...very similar." she lent back in her chair. "So you are waiting for her?" she asked thoughtfully.

Kanaye blinked. Then nodded. "Thinking is ALSO overrated. I mean, all the bad people in the world? They think about things. And the mean people, and the sad people! So not thinking makes you happy!"

Kanaye drank another shot. "You have a point. Oh, I didn't mean romantically. She's the only one for me romantically. I meant, in a physical sense, if she was fine with it."

Kanaye shrugged. "Yeah. If she wants to do it, she wants to do it. If she doesn't, she doesn't. I won't pressure her."

"Well I do understand that, I mean, I never let myself get miserable, or worried or anything, because it is just overthinking pointless things! Why even bother with it after all?!"

She nodded along as Kanaye spoke. "I've come to the view that that kind of stuff should only be done romantically." she shrugged. "I mean, its something special."

She took another sip of drink. "Ah aren't you just a Knight? Most guys don't think like that at all...mind you I didn't either for a while..."

Kanaye nodded happily. "Exactly! Over thinking leads leads to being sad. Being sad is never fun. Everyone should lay back, get a couple of beers, and have fun! It'd certainly help with this world." Kanaye, satisfied with his lecture, proceeded to finish off his drink and ask for another.

Kanaye laughed. "Uh huh, right. I'm sure it's more special with someone you love, but you need practice, right? I don't want to disappoint Maeko-chan. I don't think she's had sex either, but still."

Kanaye bowed. "Well, I have a gift."

Seiko nodded too. "You don't need the beer necissarily to be cheerful, people just have to stop being such tight asses." she rolled her eyes. "Everything is about balance, people who never have fun are unbalanced and dull."

She shrugged. "I'm only assuming, one problem when you are a...slut, is that you don't really have anyone special, they are all just a bit...well I have forgotten the names of a few." she said delicately.

She pretended to hit Kanaye at the back of his head. "Such arrogance in one so young." she teased cheerfully.

	Kanaye shrugged. "Lies. Damned Lies. Statistics. Beer is one of the few things that makes me happy, right below "Maeko, Toru, and Kozue" I really do need it to be happy." He yawned. "Pah, but beer can be so...boring, if you get a nice sake its so much nicer! or really anything else..." she pulled a face taking another drink.

"Its pretty interesting, I guess I win against you there right Kanaye-kun?. I guess I still hold the playboy crown here.." she gave him a kind smile. "Don't worry about it too much it may even be better than have done it already. I mean it really is something to do with someone special I think."

Kanaye retched. "I hate sake. It's just...not, I don't know. I just don't like it. I prefer gaijin drinks." He said the word like it was a curse.

Kanaye sighed sadly. "Yeah, you do. Most people do. I'm pretty damn sure REIZO has slept with more people then me..." He looked at Seiko and sighed. "Doubt it. Sure, "someone special" is good, but I've had lots of those. They all broke up with me. How can I know for sure? Why not just have lots of sex? Seems more time-efficient."

Seiko blinked. "Hey whats with that tone of voice? There isn't anything wrong with that you know, its just your tastes.." she gave him a cheesy thumbs up.

Seiko fiddled with her hair thinking it over. "I mean when I was in that space, yeah I did enjoy it, but the thing is, its pretty...personal. And if you sleep around it stops being that, it just becomes another high, like a drink or a drug. I mean I always used to get told it is an expression of love not...someone to give away." she shook her head. "Big lot of help that advice was."

Kanaye just twitched. "I just HATE that word. HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE!" Kanaye shouted angrily before downing the rest of his drink and glaring at the bartender for another.

Kanaye smiled. "Well, better another high then nothing at all. You have to have your fun somewhere. The value of "expressions of love" has kind of decreased. I mean, marriage is about love, but Kiriko was forced into an arraigned marriage she didn't want. That makes no sense."

Seiko raised an eyebrow and continued sipping her drink, whilst she was a little more than tipsy she managed to keep it together fairly well when drinking.

"I'm not talking about marriage, marriage is just a contract. My mother has been married twice, doesn't really mean anything in that sense. However! I think...well too many highs are just unhealthy."

She lent back in her chair comfortably, she did understand Kanaye's way of thinking, of course she had done worse back then, because she hadn't had a Maeko to keep her on the straight and narrow like that. Well until she had really hit rock bottom, she smiled slightly, at least she had learnt from how she had been.

"I understand it Kanaye-kun, I just haven't seen it work yet." she replied with a grin. "I mean my Mum said she loved my Dad, them whoosh-" she waved her hand above her head. "She left him in a shot when he wasn't pretty anymore."

She lent back taking a mouthful of drink and closed her eyes a second. "Because everything that gives you a high is bad for you in excess." she sighed. "Alcohol kills your liver, drugs rot your brain and about everything else..."

Kanaye blinked. "If by "interesting", you mean "bitchy" then you are correct. I have women like that. They don't want to work, so they rely on their husbands or children. That's why I love Maeko-chan, she works hard for what she gets. Much more then I do."

Kanaye shrugged. "Live fast, die young, don't have to deal with this shithole. I don't see what the problem is. I mean, there's racism everywhere. You probably have to deal with the same shit I do, right?"

"Che careful Kanaye-kun she may be insane but she is my mother after all." she teased. "Its why I am working so hard now, to be able to get a job, and be able to live my own life."

She tipped up her drink to finish it off. "Racism? She blinked, I just bleach this, its black naturally." she shrugged. "Sometimes people think I'm a half sure, but race really isn't important."
