Who: Kazuya and Tomako
When: Early afternoon after Exams
Where: Some part of one of the parks near the campus
What: Tomako wants to learn to be a stronger person and is too scared to ask Reizo
Why: Because Tomako doesn't want to be picked on.

Tomako looked over the book on boxing that he'd taken out of the library and tried the motions again. He was frustrated. After hearing that he was not getting as good a grade as he could have in gym he was determined to at least try to bring that up by learning to be more athletic. But the only thing he could think of, to keep himself safe from some of the thicker boys in his class, was to read up on boxing.

His brother had offered to show him a few things, but Hikaru's schedule kept getting in the way resulting in Tomako having to look for an outside source. He'd found that in an old boxing book at the library, but...it wasn't turning out to be a well worth read.

"Two steps forward and punch...what the hell does that do?" he sighed and tried it again. With no on there to hit he felt that it was becoming useless and soon closed the book in annoyance. "This thing doesn't teach you anything. I mean at least have some damn pictures in it so that I know I'm doing it right."

He took a long breath and looked around. If only someone could teach me how to fight. Seriously, then I wouldn't have to look like an idiot in front of those boys in class again.

Strike the air? What did he mean by that? Tomako gave him a perplexed look, but there was no teasing, and no mocking, so he was serious about it. Rubbing his shoulder some Tomako shook his head.

"No, not at all Sempai. I was...well," he got down to pick up the book. "I was working on punching. It's so that I can get stronger for gym class. You know how we have to do all that wrestling. Well I hate winding up losing to the guys that were bigger then me, and it's rather annoying."

He didn't want to mention the teasing he got for it and showed him the book. "They explain how to punch, but there's no pictures and I can't do this at my home, so I thought I would try to learn here. But no punching bag means punching the air."

He was learning on how to punch to beat the larger students of his gym class? Off a book? Kazuya might have laughed, but Tomako would've probably given him an odd look at that. Instead, he settled for a disapproving glance.

"There's no use in trying to learn how to fight off a book. A book can guide you through it mechanically.. But there's no personality or essence to it. No style or assistance. Learning to fight is something no book can teach you fully. I'm guessing you want to learn just how to wrestle?"

While Kazuya didn't personally approve of such.. regulation techniques, he could at least pass on a few tips that Shirai had given him.

Tomako paused at the glance and sighed, "I knew it...and it's not just wrestling it's...A lot of guys seem to enjoy using me as punching bag. From Kendo I know how to block and such, but that doesn't help when there are four or five coming at me. So I really need to learn how to defend myself."

He rubbed his neck, "I just want them to back off and stop bothering me. That's all. I'm tried of being the one that gets picked on."

Ah. Well, that made some.. sense. The individual in front of him did seem a tad diminutive.. The fact that he was trying to learn how to fight was an ambitious thing. It might have just helped for him to pay off a few stronger individuals to beat it into the others. But Kazuya strongly doubted that the youth would be persuaded by such a method.

"Well, for one.. They have numbers on you. So, learning to fight is a step, but there are things that you need to learn to take that step and turn it into the whole way. What do you know about knives?"

A kind of odd, halfways smile crept across Kazuya's lips. One that was not entirely happy so much as perversely amused. Perhaps he was playing a joke on Tomako, or perhaps he was being completely serious. It was a gamble.

"Knives? Well not a lot, but I know about swords. I'm in the Kendo club, junior level." He explained and blinked cautiously at the smile. "Why do you ask?"

It was a creepy question but Tomako wasn't about to show any fear. If this boy could teach him to fight then all the better. He would take any lesson he could, and work as hard as he could to keep them off his back.

"Then there's a lot to learn." Kazuya strode past him, almost as if he were walking through a set of grand doors just behind the youth. And, by doing so, he had been given witness to a wonderous array of things both magnificent and awe striking.

"You see, there's a way to beat people without really having to fight them the way they fight you. In war, you can't break a man like you break a dog, or a horse. The harder you beat a man, the taller he stands, or so the philosophy would go. To break a man's will, to break his spirit, you have to break his mind. People have this idea that we can fight with dignity, that there's a proper way to fight, to kill someone. It's absurd, it's inaesthetic. We needed to endure the bloody horror of murder. You must destroy that idea, show them what a messy, terrible thing it is to kill a man. And then show them that you *relish* in it. Shoot the wound, and then execute the wounded. Burn them. Engage them in close combat. Destroy the preconceptions of what a man is, and you become their personal monster. When they fear you, you become stronger, you become *better.*" He took a breath, almost as if he were indeed enjoying the moment's monologue, "But let's never forget: it's a display, it's a posture, like a lion's roar or a gorilla thumping at its chest. If you lose yourself to the display, if you succumb to the horror, then you become the monster. You become reduced. Not more than a man, but less.. And it can be fatal."

With the final word, Kazuya whirled upon Tomako. "But, you're not going to kill anyone. Not unless you want an arrest. If you want to win, if you want to stop yourself becoming a punching bag for the rest of your life, you have to show that you are stronger. That you are their nightmare. I personally put faith in knives, but swords work just as well. You know the basics of wielding a sword, right?"

Tomako watched as Kazuya monologed and though, Whoa he's good at this. Wonder if he practices saying those at home or something. Although it would be odd for someone to pratice saying that on the whim of finding some middle schooler who wants to learn to be tougher.

Still he slowly nodded and smirked just a little, pride taking over his face, "I should. I've been training since grammer school with them." Loosing the smirk he said, "So you'll teach me this right? You'll show me how to deal with people that way?"

"That's right. If you do what I say, you'll deal with them. Now, you're going to need a few things. First off, it'd do you some good to find some ratty clothing you don't care about. Secondly, get a balaclava, or any type of mask you can use to avoid immediate identification. Then you'll need some gloves, cheap gloves. And finally, you're gonna need a shinai, or a real blade that's disposable. Do you think you can get all of that?"

While he was highly doubtful that the adolescent would really deal with this tactfully, this was the most direct method of solving the problem. He'd watched countless situations handled in difficult, roundabout methods. This tended to end things abruptly and.. relatively quietly. Whether the youth would actually listen to him on the manner, and act upon it was something altogether different.

"Um...I can get all of those but what...what am I going to need them for? I have that all at my house. But do I need to get them now? Won't it be really rather hard to learn to do anything wearing all that? And I actually have both, but the blade isn't disposable so I don't think that would work. But what is the point of all of it? If I'm going to fight these guys I'm not going to have time to put that all on if they attack me in the locker room or something." Tomako pointed out simply.

He sighed some, this was going to take work and nodded his head, "Do you want me to get them now? I can go home and come back with them if you'd wait here?"

He sighed lightly. "No, no. We're not acting on the spurr of the moment or the casual occurance. You're going to ambush them. One by one. Together, they can overpower you.. But alone, and with a weapon. Well.. you have the advantage, don't you? Ask them to fight you at a specific location, draw them in, put them under a sense of false guard and confidence. And then when the moment is right, you need to strike. If you give me the names, I'll be able to provide you with an opportunity. I would suggest breaking their legs first so that they could not attempt to flee in a speedy manner. After wards, of course, you would need to burn your clothes and the shinai. And then you simply rinse and repeat. Do so until you have incapacitated each specific person. Of course, they might begin to suspect you for your kendo training, and the repeated incidents.. But I can assist with that part, if you'd like."

Extending his gloved hand, he offered it to shake. "Do we have a deal?" Frankly, he was doing this more for the amusement than anything else. He didn't once pause to think if it was somehow a little twisted for someone to take amusement from the idea of orchestrating incidents of pain. But that didn't seem to really matter, right now.

Tomako paused and listened, "Ambush them, more like how a ninja would strike out on it's enemy then say a samurai. Then again, these guys like to gang up because they can throw their weight around more. Before I shake there's a few things I need to know from you."

He held a steady gaze at Kazuya as he spoke, "One how would you assist me? Two, would you back out if things got too hot? Three, how do I know that you're not working for them in turn, or won't turn on me?

Tomako held his hand above Kazuya's if he got the answers he wanted he would shake, "I only shake hands with people I know won't turn on me. I won't hesitate to turn on you if you stab me in the back."

It was easy enough. Three questions that he could've answered at any point. However, it was somewhat remarkable in how the otherwise polite youth had turned into such an agreeable mind to violence. He supposed that the adolescent had been provoked quite a bit by the people that were harassing him. But the length of desensitization to the subject of death, harm, pain, and breaking limbs.. He hadn't flinched at all.

"Firstly, I could set up a number of these little endeavors for you. I might also be able to help you should you be personally confronted, but we'll try to avoid that for as long as we can. Secondly, as long as you don't kill anyone and arouse police suspicion, I believe we'll be quite alright. And finally, suggesting that I'm working on them is ridiculous. I'm not so elaborate as to attempt to draw you out for them. You're enough of a target by day, it seems. Plus, I have no reason to betray you. You may take my word as a promise."

His gloved hand hadn't moved.

Tomako looked at him for a bit. He was studying his face. The reason he had not flinched when there came the suggestions of death, harm and pain was from the fact that he'd grown up with his mother talking about the dissection of animals. Unlike Misaki Tomako had never really felt any dislike of taking apart an animal for science. Death was something he simply saw as a biological thing, a means to an end, and harm and pain, he'd been in enough of it from being in kendo. There were times when the attacks could break limbs, he knew about that sort of pain. They tried to not do that in the club, but there were accidents that did happen.

Taking in everything that Kazuya said Tomako gave a nod and smiled some shaking his hand, with a firm grip. "A deal is a deal. May I ask something though. Why are you wearing gloves?"

The hand retracted from Tomako's after the deal was sealed, although he cast him a curious glance at the question. He'd never been asked why he wore anything, before. Although, he had detailed talk about wearing gloves in the conspiracy, so it only seemed fair for the other youth to suspect.

"Because my hands are cold. That is the purpose of gloves, after all." His expression relayed the slightest hint of amusement, before he continued. "Do what you need to do, and contact me when you're ready. The sooner you can get me the names, the sooner you won't have to worry about being bothered. That is what you want, correct? Freedom to your own designs."

"Huh so you can be amused," Tomako said in a curious tone. He reached down and picked up the book. "I'll need your number to call you. Will you be here in less then an hour?"

"I want to know how to defend myself against them. Even if we get the drop on them they still have a habit of being able to attack faster then I can. So even knocking them down..." Tomako said seriously and clenched his fist. "I want to be able to punch them in the face and bust their nose in the event they attack me when you're not there. I need to know how to fight back without my shinai."

"Alright." He conceded simply enough. There was enough sense in that, and if he could learn to throw a few punches and handle himself, Tomako might be able to avoid further circumstances.

"I'll remain here. I have a book to read, anyway."
