Previous Entry  Add to memories!  Tell a Friend!  Next Entry
Entry tags:parents

Who: Parents (No kids)
What: Parent's Evening!
Where: Nanakamado
When: Evening
Why: So the parents can RUIN LIVES SOME MORE/BE EMBARASSING/WHATEVER.
Note: I don't intend to play the teachers very much. I doubt this is a surprise.

The amount of students at Nanakamado meant that it was almost impossible to book slots with all the necisarry teachers within the same time block. As a result, parents were forced to wait for a long time between each appointment.

The school had clearly foreseen this problem, the assembly hall had been prepared with seats and refreshments to keep perents who they didn't want to enrage from becoming too frustrated with the wait.

Daisuke, in his haste, nearly ran into the refreshment table that Mikaru and Katashi were at. He managed to stop himself in time, noticed the two men, and decided that it was less likely that Katsuo would kill him if he looked like he was actually talking. "Oh, hello, fancy seeing you two here!" he remarked, still somewhat shaken. "Pardon my intrusion, but I just wanted to say hello! I always want to meet other parents. My name is Satou Daisuke of Satou Motors. You two are...?" he asked quickly.

Younger brother? Pfffft. Katashi gave a wide grin and shrugged dismissively. And then another approached. Yet another man who needed to shave, but Katashi found himself amused by the certain 'cool dude' air about him. Satou Motors? Successful enough business, but he didn't particularly care. "Hayashi Katashi," he said to the two of them. He was always almost embarrassed by the rhyme even though he never showed it. "My daughter goes to the middle school."

He didn't follow up with any sort of business name of his own. His wife was the bread winner after all. He himself had managed to sell off his own family's business after marriage, so he doubted they'd recognize his own surname right off the bat unless they liked old furniture. Oh, to be a happy lazy house-husband.

Mikaru almost jumped out of his skin when Satou ran over. He held onto his drink tightly and sweatdropped some. "Ah...Aoi Mikaru, Pleased to meet you, Satou-san. I sometimes hear your comericals on my radio when I work."

When Katashi spoke Mikaru looked over, "Hayashi...Oh didn't your family used to run some sort of antiquities group. I..I am sorry I tend to be rather forgetful about things." He rubbed his neck. "Your daughter is in the year behind my son Tomako right?"

Daisuke nodded. These were clearly relatively sane people with absolutely no connections to the yakuza at all. He breathed a sigh of relief. He was safe for the time being. "Hello Aoi-san, Hayashi-san. Aoi...Aoi..." he paused, tapping on his chin. "You, do you have a daughter named Misaki? I hear Kanaye is a friend of hers." he finishes, smiling.

"Ah yes, that would be my daughter. I hope things are okay. I hear your son is dating her best friend Akuba Maeko?" He smiled pleasently. He seemed like a nice person, though most people seemed nice to Mikaru, Akiko was usually the one to shoo off snakes.

Daisuke laughed. He liked this guy. Kind of plain, but he's still a nice enough guy. "So far as I can tell, yeah. He's been spending most of his time in him room getting lovestruck." and drinking heavily, but they didn't need to know that, right? "How's your daughter taking all this?" he asked, making polite conversation.

Oho, so someone did remember. Antiques though? Well, they were styled that way. They may as well have been called that. "Well, you are old, aren't you," he said in a joking tone, though he was being serious. "He might be. It's her first year in middle school."

Katashi thought to himself for a moment to try and remember if Emi had mentioned anything about an Aoi. He did remember something about a Tomako... The more he thought about it, he remember her briefly mentioning a Misaki as well. He couldn't think of any Kanaye's, but if he remembered correctly Emi never had anything good to say about the two he did recall. If Satou's son was a friend of Misaki then it must've said something about him, too.

He smirked at the thought, and took another sip of his drink as the two conversed between each other.

"Well I'm only thirty eight to be honest," Mikaru said shyly but smiled still. "Is your daughter Emi-chan by chance? She and Tomako are rivals, academically speaking that is..."

"Ah...well, not so well. I haven't had a chance to see her, but according to her brother she had a very big fight with her friend Akuba Maeko. Though I'm sure that Misaki's very happy that her friend has someone that cares as much for Maeko-chan as she does."

Daisuke ignored Katashi. It was something that he was very well versed in doing. If the other man (Aoi, was it?) had to have two conversations at the same time, so be it. He nodded to Mikaru. "Well, that sort of thing happens. Besides, once they become friends again they'll have an even stronger bond, right?" he asked, smiling.

"Yes I do believe so. How is your son doing anyway. Misaki tells me he's the captain of the soccer club here? He seems like a very smart and generous young man." Mikaru smiled.

"Yeah, but I don't know why. I mean, it's nice that he's in a sport, and being a captain is definitely going to look good, but he focuses on that much more then his studies..." Daisuke said, trying to look serious while suppressing a chuckle. Kanaye was generous, yeah, but smart? Not even a father's love could make him believe that. "He's been doing fine, though things have been rather stressful for him lately. There's that anti-bullying club, which is taking up even more time away from his studies. His grades are slipping, badly. Though his relationship with Akuba-san seems to be helping him a bit. How's Misaki?"

"She could be doing better. She's haveing the same problem with the club. Grades have been getting worse, her brother thinks she's been skipping classes for some reason." Mikaru sighed some. "She used to be a good student but things changed after she was eight or so, she just started to act differently."

Rubbing his neck he wondered if it was because of the school or something but he couldn't think what it could be. "She's alright, I haven't had a chance to talk to her. She's been spending more time at her brother's shop."
