Who: Ayumu and Tom (with a brief appearance of the Jealous Boyfriends)
What: Some boys like to take their jealousy out on the little brother.
When: After school on a Tuesday
Where: Behind the gym. It's always behind the gym.
Why: Every king needs a knight! Every hero needs a sidekick!
Ayumu was sitting on the low wall behind the gym, turning the card over and over again in his hands. How old school. Things like this only happened in manga. Using a card to say "Hey meet you behind the gym because we're gonna kick your ass PUNK". They even used the wrong kanji for a few words! Delinquents. They must be the part of an awesome school experience. And who better to have the complete awesome school experience than himself? He chuckled to himself at the thought. Wait until he told Mihari.
He glanced down at his cell phone, pausing for a moment to check his mail, when he could hear the sound of the group of boys rounding the corner of the gym. "Oooh so they finally did decide to show up! Make this quick--one of my shows is having a special on today and I have to get back in time to watch it." He glanced up with a confident grin and slid the phone back into his bag.
"Don't be so smart, Murata!" one of the guys returned. "You're trying to steal our girlfriends, aren't you?"
"I told you, it's not my fault everyone is obsessed with Hideki-nii. Take your problems up with him." Ayumu made a show of inspecting his nails. "I'm sure he'd be very amused a bunch of middle schoolers want to pick on a grown man because he's popular and they're not."
The guys clustered closer, grumbles proving how not amused they were. "You're the one conveying the gifts and autographs back and forth. So obviously you're the one we have a problem with."
Ayumu rolled his eyes and stood up. He didn't exactly tower over the other boys--at his worst one came up to the tips of his ears--so he had to look up to give the leader a bored look. "Can't you just complain to your girlfriends?"
"Or," one replied, cracking his knuckles, "We can just beat up the messenger and then the others will learn not to deal with you or your brother."
Holding up his hands with a rather uneasy laugh, Ayumu took a step back. "Now now, no need to be so childish..." Right, getting picked on is a part of an 'awesome' high school life. Note the sarcasm, self. /Awesome/.
