WHO: Keiichi & Shiori
WHAT: Excursion to Noodle Alley
WHERE: Meeting outside school, then (duh) Noodle Alley
WHEN: Thursday, after school.
WHY: Funs?

Sitting on one of the benches lining the walkway leading up to the school's front door was Keiichi, swinging his legs absent-mindedly. He was, honestly, quite bored.

And when bored, Keiichi enjoyed sampling the flavors of Noodle Alley. One minor problem: he had no one to go with. Keiichi could, of course, just go and pull up a seat at the counter, but where was the fun in that?

No, he needed company. The fairer gender would be preferred, but really, anyone would do. At least that way there would be conversation.

Eyes widening, Shiori put a hand to her stomach.

"Oh, beef sukiyaki sounds really good too..." Shiori groaned. Dropping the dramatics, she blinked at her classmate. "It's probably something really weird, like... I dunno, coconut flakes or something. Have you tried making it before?"

It was almost strange to imagine that Ito-san cooked outside of school, though of course he must have to. He couldn't possibly make enough food at the cooking club to have lunch every day. She supposed that she must just imagine that as soon as she got back home, everyone else ceased to exist - she usually didn't think of her classmates outside of class. With the personas, though, she supposed she must have to start.

"Booth it is!" Shiori exclaimed when Ito-san said it would be best, making her way to it after checking that Ito-san was still behind her. Sliding onto the seat and smoothing her skirt down, she put her bag in between herself and the wall. Shiori watched as Ito-san sat down, and blinked in surprise at the serious look he gave her.

And then he asked her if she was okay, and she let out a nervous giggle.

"Aoi-san asked me the same thing," Shiori said. "My hand's been hurting because I drew so much when I got home, but other than that I'm fine. Did... did someone get hurt there?" And then, hesitantly. "Are you okay?"

"A couple of times," he admitted. "It's usually good, but doesn't taste quite the same. I usually end up cooking in the dorms or at home to practice."

Keiichi grinned at her from across the table. "Maybe I should cook for you sometime..."

Matching meals to people was always a fun task. He liked to think that his bentos were matched pretty well to his personality: vibrant and lively.

"You like to draw a lot, don't you," he asked. From what he remembered, most of the teachers tended to keep her in detention due to her propensity for drawing in class.

He made a mental note to soften his expression. Being serious wasn't something people expected from him, after all. "I'm fine, Wakanata-san. Confused, and wondering what's going to happen next, but physically fine. I appreciate the concern, though. You're the first person to really ask..."

Even as the waiter approached, he still found himself looking at her. Pretty, he decided. Definitely pretty. A bit spacey, maybe, but Hell. So was he.

"That'd be amazing, Ito-san!" Shiori exclaimed, leaning forward slightly before blushing. "When you let me have some of your lunch, it's always really good so... um, I sometimes lie about not having one just so I can have some of your food."

She laughed nervously, adding a quick, "I'm sorry for lying to you and stealing your lunch. But your food is so good!"

Her smile turned into a frown when he said no one had asked how he was. It seemed weird to her that Ito-san, who had so many more friends than her, wouldn't have been asked how he was doing. But Shiori, who didn't really have any friends, would be asked by two different people. It was sad...

"I think we're all confused. Like, what were those things? And why a bunch of high schoolers instead of, I dunno, an adult?" she mused. Ignoring the waiter, who had come to their table, for a moment, she added, "If things do change - like, if you aren't fine anymore, you can tell me. I'll do my best to help you out, Ito-san!"

Still blushing, she turned and beamed at the waiter. "I'll have miso with spicy bean paste, please!"

Keiichi chuckled a bit. "Please...call me Keiichi. I hate formalities." He really did. Being called san and senpai always made him feel...old.

"And you should have asked earlier. I would have made more for you. I like cooking for people." Cute girls in particular, but still. "Thank you, though. I like when people enjoy my cooking."

He watched the waiter approach, hoping she would cut off her line of questioning before he got there. They could talk about the creatures once people weren't so close.

"Beef sukiyaki ramen for me," Keiichi said. Once the waiter left, he leaned across the table, and patted her hand. "Thank you, Shiori," Keiichi murmured, forgetting to be formal. "That means a lot to me."

"Alright," Shiori agreed easily, pleased with the whole thing. If he really didn't like her, he wouldn't have asked her to call him by his first name. But he had, so Shiori must have done something right.

Jeez, she must look so crazy though - she could hardly keep the grin off her face!

"Maybe next time we could do that!" Shiori said excitedly. "Just cook at the school or something, I mean. That would be really fun, I bet."

As Keiichi placed his order and the waiter walked away, Shiori blushed once again when he placed his hand on hers. This was the first time someone had touched her hand on purpose since she was a very young girl. It was weird, and yet... it felt nice.

She hoped she could use the heat as an excuse for why her face was so red.

"I'm glad," she nodded, adding hesitantly. "Er, you can call me Shiori too without worrying about the formalities and that. It'd only be right, since you're letting me call you Keiichi."

"You can come to the Cooking Club meetings," Keiichi said, practically beaming. "I'm sure Aoi-san would be happy, too."

At this point, anything resembling competence would make them happy, let alone someone who'd actually probably be able to cook with proper practice.

She was blushing, seemingly. He grinned; she couldn't blame it on her spicy ramen since it wasn't here yet. Not like he'd call her on it, though.

"Shiori it is," Keiichi replied, agreeably. "It's much better like this. Especially since we'll probably be working together a lot more now, with the whole expedition and everything."

And ideally Cooking Club, but he wasn't going to force that issue.

The cooking class would be fun, but Keiichi would probably be too busy helping out other people. Aoi-san had said he was a really good cook and teacher - she had been practically pushing Shiori to get lessons from him instead of letting Shiori take the easy way out and have Aoi-san help her. Maybe she would go though. But not because she wanted to spend more time with Keiichi or anything, even if he was nicer and cooler than she had originally though. She was just going to spend time with Aoi-san.

Right.

"Yeah," Shiori agreed. "I wonder if someone's going to organize a big get-together so we can all become friends or something. Probably Aoi-san, huh? She seems like she'd be the type to do that." She smiled fondly; though she hadn't known the first year for very long, she liked the younger girl already.

"We could beat everyone to the punch though!" Shiori said excitedly, brightening. Linking her fingers together, she placed her elbows on the table and her head on her hands. "So, tell me about yourself Keiichi~"

"She might," Keiichi admitted. "She's really nice and bubbly and everything. She's also one of the only people in the club who actually wants to cook."

Ito-san offered a shrug. The idea hadn't actually crossed his mind. "We're just...a very different group, best I can tell. Different classes and personalities and everything.

He was caught slightly off guard when she asked him to talk about himself. Keiichi wasn't used to it.

"Um...we live an hour or so away, I think I said that already," he managed. "Dad's a pro wrestler, so he's away from home a lot, so it's me and mom when I'm home for a Sunday or holidays."

She seemed interested, though, she he continued to rack his brain for things to tell her. "I like writing, too. Not just cooking. Poems and things." Keiichi felt a little embarrassed, but she did ask, after all. "What about you?"
