Moving Day....
Who: Misaki, Maeko, and anyone that finds them moving
What: The duo heading to the dorms to move into their new place
When: Afternoon after school
Where: Streets of Iburi
Why: Because they both want out of their home situations

Misaki held ont her one suitcase and the backpack as she glanced over at Maeko who was walking with her. She could still hear her mother's comments as they were gathering the last of her things.

"Be sure that you don't do anything stupid Misaki. I don't want you to hurt Maeko-san's reputation, and embarrass her. You're lucky you have someone like her willing to stay with you. Please remember you're representing this family in there, I don't need to hear from my co-workers that my daughter was making a mess of things and being ignorant," her mother had said. Though she had, surprisingly given her a small hug before she left. It was strange seeing her house at such a distance and not coming back to it.

I wonder how Maeko-chan feels about all this. I mean she's leaving her family too... Misaki thought as they walked then out of habit reached over and squeezed Maeko's hand and smiled.

"Maeko-chan, did I tell you that I'm glad your my friend? I don't know how I could have done this if I didn't know you were going to be there with me." Letting go of Maeko's hand she reached into the small bag she had with her and pulled out a small container. "I created a new anpan. Try it out would you when we get the dorm. I was thinking of maybe trying to sell it at the coffee shop."

Maeko flinched quietly when she overhear what Misaki's nother had to say. She really wished they got along better. Still, it couldn't be helped.

"This is everything, right? We can go back again later but you've got everything that matters immediately?"

All her belongings had been taken to the dorms already, she'd had a lot less than Misaki. It wasn't particularly odd, Misaki also needed to bring the materials and patterns she used.

"Heh." She replied, grinning. "It's no problem, I'll be happy to be somewhere where I can talk. I'll try it for sure."

She continued for a while and then looked back. "Hey, let me carry something, okay?"

"Yeah it's everything. I'm sorry theres so much. I was worried that Horoko would make my anime and manga books vanish if I left them behind," Misaki blushed. The case which she was carrying was filled with the anime, while the one that Maeko was taking was the ones filled with the patterns. "And I"m fine. Just realizing that I'm not going to be in my own room anymore. It's a bit daunting that's all. But I'll be fine. I have you there, and I know some of the people living in the dorm."

Misaki grinned happily at hearing the cheer in Maeko's voice, "We can have a talking party to celebrate, and do the things that you didn't get to do at home Maeko-chan."

"No it's okay, I've got it," Misaki told her. "You're doing so much for me already. I want to get stronger so I can be able to be there for you when you need me the most. Like you were there for me this week."

"It's fine. Better safe than sorry, after all" Maeko said, shrugging. "You'd probably be leaving home in a few years anyway if you were wanting to do fashion. Iburi doesn't support the arts as well as a lot of other places. Best to try it now and make any mistakes while you're still in the same city so it's it's relatively safe and you can go home if you need to."

She laughed sheepishly. "A...talking party? Isn't that just a conversation? I don't really have much to say anyway, it's just the principle of the thing."

"Well, if you're sure... tell me if it gets too heavy, okay?"

"Okay I will, and you're right, I might have to move to Tokyo or something. It'll be fun, but scary. You know I never had anyone actually think my fashion was good. I mean Kozue-chan wore my dress to Kiriko's party but I bet everyone thought she just bought it somewhere." Misaki chuckled. "Maybe someday some one will be impressed with it. Oh Maeko-chan can I make an outfit for you. Please!"

She turned and clasped her hands together after setting down the case, "Please please!"

Maeko shrugged. "If they thought she bought it then that should speak for itself. You're as good as what's in the stores right now and you're only in first year."

Maeko wasn't entirely sure about this and she was quite sure she'd feel entirely overdressed in anything Misaki made. But she grinned and nodded anyway.

"Of course! I'd love that."

Misaki threw her arms around Maeko and hugged her tightly. "Thank you so much Maeko-chan! I'll make you something really pretty! And nothing to fancy okay. Hummm maybe something with green in it, that color really suits you. A nice pair of gaucho pants I think and a matching top, something you can wear either to a party or just to hang out. You can dress it up, I'm sure I have the right pattern in there."

Steping back she blushed some, "I"m sorry if I seem so excited. It's just...Nami's the only one that lets me make her outfits because she's little. And well, it'll be nice having someone I can talk to without feeling like I'm being looked down upon because I'm not scientifically minded."

Maeko understood the word 'green' and that was about it. She smiled and nodded and pretended to know what Misaki was talking about.

"It's fine." She said, nodding. "I'm glad you're so happy."

Misaki paused a moment and blushed, "Sorry I was going on and on again wasn't I?"

She pushed her hair back behind her ear some, "Well lets put it this way, I'll make you a nice pair of loose pants and a shirt to go with it that will really look cute on you Maeko-chan. I'll bet I can even get Kanaye-sempai to be shocked enough that he couldn't talk back to you."

Kanaye, channeling Bettle Juice and the Devil, decided to take that moment to pop up. He had just been walking around town after getting in another fight with his parents again over whether or not t-shirts and jeans were acceptable wear for meeting possible sponsors. Noticing Maeko, he walked over, cursing under his breath when he noticed Misaki. Were they ever apart from one another? He shrugged.
"Misaki-san, Maeko-chan." he said, nodding. Was the chan too familiar? Would she notice? Oh god oh man oh god oh man oh god... "You two moving? Either of you need any help?"

Misaki turned and blinked, then got flustered, "Ah...Kanaye-sempai! Ah...sorry, um..." Did he just call her san? Well she supposed she deserved the distance.

"Ah...well, not really but, um...if you want to help you can."

Misaki suddenly bowed low to him, "Kanaye-sempai I'm so so sorry for what I said to you! I didn't mean to hurt your feelings when I was panicing. I'm so sorry if I hurt you, can you please forgive me."

Kanaye chuckled. "Hello, Misaki-san." he said, taking a bag. "I always want to help! If you need anything, just ask." Going on too strong? Does she like an independent guy? Most women do, but then again she does hang out with Misaki. But showing weakness is never good, she won't depend on his then....
Love is confusing, Kanaye concluded.

He just smiled. "Yes, I kind of figured that. Don't worry Misaki-san. NONE of us are sane. You get used to it."

Misaki looked down, there it was again, san. She sucked it in though. Better that then having him hate her.

"I don't think we're insane though," she blinked at him and shrugged. "I mean since what we've been through do you honestly think that we've all lost our minds?"

Kanaye just ignored her movements. It's to be expected with a sudden change in honorifics.

"No, I've think we never had our minds to begin with. I mean, you are a pollyanna, I need attention, Tom is a crazy bastard, etc. etc. I could give a list if you want."

"A...a pollyanna? I'm not...I'm not like her," Misaki started to say then took a breath. "Just because I think that people should get along doesn't mean it's a bad thing Kanaye-sempai. If we could just get along then maybe things could be better and we could deal with the shadows better. I don't want to see someone get hurt or worse! Maybe you don't care like Sagaki-san doesn't, but I do. And I for one don't want to see Maeko-chan, or Kirko-chan, or even you, to be hurt or worse, end up like our sensei and Sato-kun."

"You believe in the kindness of everyone. You believe that everything is going to be ok. You don't think that it's possible for everyone to be truly evil. Sounds like a pollyanna to me." Kanaye said deadpan. "I am aware of that, Misaki-san, but you don't realize the ramifications of your actions. You think that everything will turn out ok with enough practice. I don't want people to be hurt or killed either, Misaki-san, but that doesn't mean I go onto loudspeakers and tell everyone's faults of the intercom in order to make everyone happy. Hell, if we're going like that, why didn't you include yourself? I know you're smarter then this, Misaki-san. Why do you get so defensive? I merely brought it up and you start yelling at me. Because that's gonna make people get along. Your ideas are excellent. You are just horrible at putting them into practice." he turned to Maeko and bowed. "I apologize for having a discussion on morality on such when you're both moving out of what I assume are shitty, horrible, abusive homes. Because those seem to be in the majority. If you want me to leave, Maeko-chan, go ahead."

Maeko wasn't quite sure what to say. On the one hand, she was very, very glad that Misaki was finally argueing back about this. It might mean she'd finally got it through her head that (if a lot of things, most notably a very bad idea) it wasn't the end of the world. She shook her head.

"There's nothing frong with the place I'm leaving. I just thought since there are members of our group in the dorms we might be faster to know if anything happens to anyone. That kind of head start might end up making the difference between being able to save someone and failing." She paused, turning to Misaki and trying to judge her expression but finding herself unable to. "As long as Misa-chan's okay with it, it's fine. But I'd prefer you kept from bringing that incident up. It's too late to undo it and Misa-chan's been working hard to fix what damage was done. She's well aware now that it wasn't the best idea."

"Being a pollyanna isn't the worst thing in the world Kanaye. And I wasn't trying to go on to tell off people's faults, if you were actually listening instead of thinking about yourself then maybe you would have heard that I said you were a brave person, and that the others all have their qualities." Misaki stated and stared at him hard. "If you want me to list my faults, fine, I will. I'm a cry baby, I worry to much, I think about how others feel about things above whatever I'm feeling. I try to make friends even with people that others think are horrible just because I know what it's like to be seen as a useless person. I can be an airhead at times, and I tend to not think things through figuring that, if I think too much I'll be like my mother who thinks more then she should about everything and makes it seem like no one gives a damn about anything in this world save how fast you can climb up the academic Ladder and how far you can throw your intellegence just to prove your better then everyone else."

Misaki was shaking, "I...I don't want to be like that. But excuse me, you clearly came here to see Maeko-chan, don't let this pollyanna get in your way, Satou-himi!"

With that she turned and hastened a quick step a head of them. Stupid, Stupid...how can I be so dumb to...to even trust him. How could I have even thought I liked him...stupid Misaki you are an idiot.

Kanaye nodded and smiled to Maeko-chan. "I don't really believe that, but you do have a point." he said, his expression turning sour. "I know she feels sorry for it but that doesn't change the fact that she called Yoshimi boy...never mind. I'll just drop i..." he was trying to say before Misaki went off on her little rant.

He just looked at her in disbelief. "I never said that it was, Misaki-san. I'm just stating that...never mind. You do a good job in insulting people whenever you get into an argument with them, yaknow that? That's ad hominem, you know. I know that you also said that I'm brave and Reizo's a nice person beneath his rough exterior (pff) but the point remains that we seem to be idiots. That's not what I meat, but ok. I don't think people think other people are horrible because they're useless, and you're not useless. Also, himi? Really Misaki-san?" he continued on, completely monotone.
He once again turned to Maeko. "Obviously I'm not wanted here." he said, setting the bag down. "Does she take everything this personally? I want her to know I didn't mean to insult her this badly, but she doesn't seem to listen to me, so..."

Prvious gladness about Misaki argueing gone, mainly because her wording made it abundantly clear that she was going to be very upset once this was done with, Maeko just shook her head.

"Nothing will change that fact. She realizes it was not the correct thing to do and is trying to fix it. Continuing to bring it up won't somehow mean it didn't happen." She replied as Misaki shouted her own piece over her. She sighed and waited for the shouting to stop.

"She's still sensitive about that incient. She knows she hurt Tachibana-san then and she's trying to make up for it but reminding her of it is only going to upset her more." She shook her head again, picking up the bag. "Sorry. I'll probably see you at school tomorrow, senpai."

With that she hurried to catch up with Misaki.

Kanaye just watched her go away. He waved goodbye, turned around, turned a corner into an alley, and fell into a crying heap. Some people, including the homeless guy who lived into that alley, just started looking at him weirdly. The homeless guy couldn't figure out if he should console the strange blond man that just entered his home or try to get some money from him. He opted for option C: ignore him, maybe he'll leave.

Misaki walked along waiting for Maeko to catch up. So what if she was acting up, so what if she was being a brat. She was listening. She just didn't need Kanaye to act like...really did it matter. She just...why was it that she was doing this?

Stopping she glanced back at Maeko and sighed, "I just...He just upsets me! I don't...I don't want to work with him I just...Maeko-chan what's the matter with me. I'm not supposed to be like this...I'm not!"

"Nothing's the matter with you." Maeko said, forcing a smile and shaking her head. "It's just stress. School, your family, that other world...it's inevitable it'll all catch up to you eventually. But it's fine. You don't need to worry about your family's approval anymore, at least. With that out of the way everything'll calm down again, I'm sure."

"No, Maeko-chan, something is really wrong with me. I'm treating Kanaye-sempai horribly. I've been acting strange. It's not just stress. I'm sure of it. I'm scared, really really scared," Misaki trembled. "I...I have to make it up to him. That was horrible of me. Just horrible of me to say that to him. He...He was just trying to help Maeko-chan..."

She looked at her softly, "Maeko-chan, please, don't smile like that. If you're upset at me, tell me please. it's not right for you to smile when I've been acting so weird and cruel. I should have stayed silent. Maybe...Maybe we can catch up to him and I can appologize. I should! I need to do that or...Or he's going to hate me."

Maeko shook hear head again. "I'd never be upset with you, Misa-chan. I'm glad that you're able to argue for your own sake, you'd have never had the courage to do that a few years ago. Now you just need to work out when it's not a good idea to argue, right?"

She smiled again, less forced this time, and turned back. "If you want to apologise now we can always head back. He can't have gone too far."

Misaki nodded and grabbed Maeko by the hand, "Come on...I...I've just been a really bad person. I think it's because I...Maeko-chan...I'm scared...I don't know what to think anymore."

She sighed some, "I normally don't think about people like I have been, but it's like...I got upset when Keiichi-sempai kissed Kozue-chan in the other world, and then I started to have weird feeling in my tummy for Toru-kun and Shirai-san...And then I...I just did some silly things trying to figure out what's in my head and my heart, and I still don't know. Then Kiriko-chan got taken and I felt like something important got lost..."

She looked at her, "Maeko-chan...how do you know if you love some one?"
