Party Time!
Who: Everyone who heard, basically.
What: Kiriko's Party
Where: Event hall by the dorms
When: 8pm Saturday
Why: Birthday celebrations!

The party's turnout was roughly as expected, and the presence of such a lively crowd was enough to make anyone (but especially Kiriko) thankful for the fact that the event hall had air conditioning. Tables were scattered about, some of them holding food for the guests and all of them clear of the dance floor. A school-aged boy with a nervous look to him was at the head of the dancefloor acting as DJ and doing a reasonably good job at keeping everyone pleased, mostly by way of immediately playing any song requested that had not been previously blacklisted by Kiriko. A karaoke system and open mic were set up, but no one had gotten quite drunk enough to approach the stage yet. The much-fretted over decorations had gone up last minute and the sparkling blue butterflies dangling from the ceiling or stuck to walls here and there caught and reflected the dim light.

Kiriko sat at the head table with a gaggle of girls, several from 1-A, and was chatting and laughing easily with them. She was keeping a sharp eye out for anybody who looked like they might break something or cause other kinds of trouble, occasionally turning from the conversation to crane her head and look out over the partygoers, but seemed quite pleased and relaxed nonetheless.

A smile to Misaki, a nod and a quick "Hello, Yuukun!" to Yuuto, and a bow and a flourishing gift reveal (a purple dress in a clothing box) to Kiriko. It was all back in control. Comparatively, at least. "Well, Kirichan, happy birthday again! I would LOVE~ to, but this is your party, after all!" he said with a chuckle.

Listening to Toru and Kiriko's conversation with barely disguised amusement at Toru's inability to talk to people normally, he just had to but in. "I don't see why you are so afraid about it, Torukun. Yeah, your Shadow was a ridiculous pervert, but if I had one, mine would be one as well!" he said laughing, oblivious to the ominous foreshadowing. "Indeed." he nodded seriously. "Speaking of which..." he said as he drew out a bottle of Denbies wine from his cape that he totally has now, something he stole from his family's alcohol cabinet. "Anyone want any?" he asked, looking around for a glass. "I'm not gonna have to finish this myself, am I?"

The cape should not have surprised her - with Kanaye, it was all a performance. Still, he was reminding her of a stage magician and she had to supress the urge to ask if he knew any card tricks (if he did, he'd probably have showed them off by now).

At the production of the wine bottle, one of the first year girls practically leapt from the table, a glass in hand for herself and for Kanaye. Kiriko chuckled rather knowingly at this, pushing her hair back behind her ear.

"I'll probably have some a little later, but our other guests appreciate it. Thanks."

Toru had been about to tell Kiriko that he supposed participating in party games wasn't such a bad idea when Kanaye re-involved himself in conversation. It startled him a bit, as he didn't even notice his flashy sempai until he started talking.

"I don't doubt that your Shadow would be a pervert... heh, unless you're actually repressing the fact that you're asexual. Knowing you, you'd hide that, huh. A-a-and i-is that...?" He trailed off when Kanaye produced the wine from his cape. It wasn't that Toru hadn't expected alcohol at the event; it was that his teammate had brought it, and was so obviously flaunting it.

Smiling his smile at the first year girl who brought the glasses (he didn't know her name), Kanaye grabbed one, opened the bottle, and poured some of the wine into it. Smirking, he raised it up, shouted "Cheers!" and took a sip. Nodding to himself, he said, somewhat softer, "Quite nice. You sure you don't want some now, Kirichan? It might be gone later~" he said in a sing-song voice.

Pondering a bit, Kanaye shuddered. "You have a point. I don't WANT to see what my shadow is now..." he said, ignoring Toru's suggestion of what his shadow might actually be. "Any yes, Torukun, this is wine."

It was vaguely disappointing to Toru. Some part of him looked up to his sempai, and that part's opinion of him had just dropped when it realized that perhaps this was regular behavior for Kanaye. Still yet, another part of him was excited by this. He was one of those kids who'd never even been offered a sip of wine by his parents, after all.

Quietly, he said: "M-maybe I could... try a bit, sempai?"

"I'm fine, thanks," she answered with a smile, but turned to Toru just after. "You should, don't be shy. I think I see more people hanging around, I'm going to go speak with them -- Thanks for coming, guys, enjoy yourself."

She waved over her shoulder as she crossed the dance floor to approach the persona-users who had decided to cluster about the walls. She didn't think of herself as a particularly hands-on host, but figured it was best if she try to handle anybody's discomfort right off the bat.

Kanaye chuckled at Toru's nervousness. "If you want some, just ask!" he announced as he took the other wine glass from the girl (who looked rather sad), filled it up, and handed it to Toru. Taking another sip, he smiled and waved at Kiriko's retreating back.
