Who: Everyone (all currently apped characters are the unfortunate locked in people who were gathering equipment WHAT A BIZZARE COINCIDENCE)
What: Paradise/Sports Day
Where: Locked Gymnasium/Paradise
When: Morning, Friday, Just after exams
Why: Butts

The weather couldn't be better for sports day. It hadn't rained all week and so the ground was firm. The sun beat down through a cloudless sky.

The janitor walked through the school, locking the classroom doors so that people couldn't sneak in to get to thier classmate's possessions. Not that Nanakamado's students were thieves.

The gymnasium door was meant to be left open, students were gathering equipment from the store room there still, but he forgot and went through his normal routine of locking every door in the school.

“Alright, which one of you geniuses locked the damned door?” Reizo snarled, balancing a large container precariously in one arm as he fiddled with the door knob with the other. Yeah, it was definitely locked. Jackasses.

The container clattered to the floor, lid popping off and the various balls inside strewing out, some bouncing, others rolling, when the boy dropped it to try and power the lock open. He was damned strong, that much was evident, but the stupid door handle did not want to budge.

He snorted and let go of the handle, opting instead of wander off to the side and lean against a wall, taking the classic COOL pose with his arms crossed at the chest and one foot lifted up to rest against the wall. He glared coldly at Kiriko, the stupid girl who’d somehow managed to trick him into bothering to help in the first place. He’d already got her promise for free vending machine food, why’d he have to get greedy and opt to do her share of the set up as well?

He mentally kicked himself.

Misaki was carring a box with the sashes in it. Her teacher had asked her to get them so that the first year classes would have a way of identifying each class. She carefully walked out onto the gym floor, making sure not to leave marks with her sneakers and thought about how much fun it was going to be. She really didn't like sports all that much, she had never been good at it, but her younger brotehers and sister had come to watch, so she was going to try her best out there for them.

"Huh?" Misaki had been in a small day dream about winning an award for being the fastest on the short sprint, when she saw a ball come rolling towards her. "Ball?"

Picking it up carefully, she examined it before spotting another and another, soon she was carrying three...four...five balls. She followed the trail back to where it had come from and spotted Reizo standing by a wall in a pose that seemed like something out of a drama. He was acting all cool and sure of himself.

She smiled brightly as she came over, "I think you dropped your balls Shirai-san! I picked most of them up for you. Um...why are you standing out here?"

He regarded the girl cooly, dark eyes skating up and down her before finally settling on her face. Still too damned cheerful. And her hair. People always bitched (well away from him) about his being dyed, but a sweet girl dyes her’s pink and no one gives a hoot! .. Maybe she didn’t dye it. He frowned and looked harder at the girl, or her hair anyway.

“Nothing, Rabbit. Someone locked the door.”

He tilted his head back to look up at the windows. Way too high to reach by normal means, and he didn’t a damned ladder anywhere. Maybe he could throw someone light up and the could grab the ledge.. Naw, that wouldn’t work, but it might be damned funny to see.

"Rabbit?" She gave him a quizzical look not sure what it ment but rolled with it. She was always being called meaner names then that, so rabbit was something that she took with stride and smiled.

"Well, does anyone have a cellphone? Maybe we can call someone to unlock the door?" She said calmly and put the balls into the box. "Shirai-san you should be more careful though dropping these, someone could have tripped, or you could have dropped it on your foot."

"Lies." Kanaye, not believing Reizo, walked over to the door and tried to open it. Then he tried to open it again. He started contemplating ramming the door when he realized that someone has given him a gift. He never was very devout, but he'd have to give his next paycheck to the local shrine. Locked in a room with lots of women in high school PE uniforms. Obviously, the gods have smiled on him today.
Trying to suppress his grin, he turned to Reizo, and made an apologetic face.
"Looks like I owe you an apology. It really is locked." Kanaye made dramatic show of sighing, and made one last dramatic pull of the door. No luck.

Misaki bent over some to look at the handle after they had tried it and poked at it some. "Well if it's locked, maybe we can try moving it differnt ways? I know at my house when the doors get locked if you jiggle the handle some and twist it a lot, the lock will un pop, and aren't these older locks?"

She looked at Kanaye, "Or maybe someone can pick it or something?"

Toshimi loved Sports Day. It was a bigger deal at her old school than it seemed to be at Nanakamado, but she was still having fun anyway. Exams were over, she was signed up for a few events that she felt confident about, and she'd finally been able to stop picturing a certain scene whenever she opened doors. Eager to get Sports Day started, she'd volunteered to move necessary supplies from the gym.

She carried a box over to the door. "The door's locked?" she asked. "That's weird, it was fine a few minutes ago." She looked around. Her old gym had a few entrances. "Is there another door, then?"

If the look he’d given the pink-haired girl in his own class had been chilly, the one he shot towards the upperclassman, an overdramatic blonde, was hypothermia inducing. He hadn’t actually spoken to this bozo yet, but he almost instantly disliked him-- he had just called him a liar, too.

“I just said that, senpai. You ain’t callin’ me a liar, are you?” The timbre was a few notes above a growl.

“Oh, you too!” he added when Toshimi moseyed over.

"Pick the lock?" Hiroshi asked, pushing up his glasses as they were beginning to slip. "Who would know how to do something so...unsavoury?" There were few reasons to learn how to pick locks, and none of them were particularly good. "I'm sure if we just bang on the door loud enough, someone will hear and come in and get us. There's no need to worry."

"Well it's not that unsavory if it helps us right? And a lock smith has to learn to pick locks. So that's not a bad thing, and um...a police officer needs to in some cases, oh and someone who's a spy like in those dramas on TV they need to know how to pick locks." Misaki smiled at Hiroshi.

"Akiyama-senpai, I don't know if that's a good idea. Isn't everyone outside right now? Who would hear us?" Misaki asked in all seriousness. "My brother knows how to pick a lock, oh if only I had my phone, but it's in the classroom."

"Geez, this sucks..." Maeko said, joining the small crowd of people by the door. She pulled the bag of baseball bats further onto her shoulder to stop it sliding down.

"Hey, Misa-Chan" She added. "I heard someone saying the other day that the doors in this school are weird and they'll open if you turn the handle backward. Think that'd work?"

It didn't sound too plausiable but it wasn't like there was anything else they could do.

Yuu stepped forward, glancing at Maeko. "I don't see why it isn't worth a shot." It sounded stupid, but at least if he tried, then people would approach this situation a little more seriously instead of hoping for a random rumor to come true.

He reached towards the door handle and gave it a quick turn in the opposite direction.

Much to his surprise, the door swung open; he stumbled through the doorway, almost tripping.

Misaki felt a whoosh of air when the door opened and looked surpised as Yuu stumbled through.

"Ah! Iwata-Senpai! Are you okay?" she asked outloud and bit her lip.

Kanaye smiled nervously at the underclassman. Quite frankly, he scared him.
"Of course not. I apologize if I made you believe that."
Trying to keep his mind of things, he proceeded to ignore the scary man and looked towards the girls.
"There aren't any other doors. Brilliant design planning, brought to you by the person that made the doors lock from the outside."

Toru looked over at the other students from across the room. He had followed them here in hope of hiding from the sports festival, as he was completely devoid of athletic talent and wanted nothing to do with the event. From the looks of it, there was something going on with the door...

Walking closer, he heard a second-year girl say "The door's locked?" Was that it? Was he locked in here with these people? He surveyed his fellow students, all in various states of dismay or annoyance. Definitely.

Toru sighed and sat down. If only I had thought to bring my PSP...

Misaki glanced around and set down her box and moved over by Toru. She sighed. The older students thought her idea wasn't that smart so she wanted to wait and see if anything came of Maeko's suggestion. She was so smart, sometimes Misaki wished she was as smart as Maeko, maybe then she could have friends that were close to her.

Glancing over at Toru she smiled some, "Don't look so down Ishinomori-kun. I'm sure that they'll get us out of here. Um..." she sweatdropped some. "What are you doing here anyway? Did Sensei send you here to help too?"

Toru numbly looked at his bubbly classmate. In a situation like this, he had no clue what to do- girls, let alone people, never talked to him.

"I-I'm fine... don't worry about me." He realized that out of the group, he was really the one who didn't belong. He was just hiding from actually participating in the festival. With a nervous look on his face, Toru looked around the room and mumbled: "Yeah... I... Sensei wanted some ...lacrosse sticks... brought out... Aoi-san..."

"Oh? I was asked to get the sashes. I'm glad I ran into you though," she smiled brightly at him. "You look as worried as I feel."

Misaki pulled her knees up to her chest and thought a moment, "My younger siblings are going to be out there to see me. I know they're going to laugh when I don't win anything, but it should be fun right?"

Tilting her head cutely she smiled, "Hey Ishinomori-kun, would you like to have lunch with me? I brought a bit too much."

It made Toru feel incredibly awkward to have someone this close to him; someone looking at him so intently, too.

"That's nice, that your siblings will be here. My sister... she's very busy with her job, and so are my parents. Plus, I don't think... they'd want to see me here, the way I am."

When Misaki offered to share her lunch, Toru blushed an intense, bright red. "Ah... y-y... nn... that's very kind of you but... I guess... maybe..." he mumbled under his breath, not sure how to act in a situation like that.

"I know the feeling, my parents couldn't come today either, neither could my older siblings. But that's okay, even if no one was here I'd still try my best," Misaki told him and then looked at him gently. "Well I'm here so I'll root for you okay? And well I'm sure that's not ture. Parents are busy a lot, so they don't always have time, but I bet they'll be proud to know you even participated."

She laughed gently and grinned, "I'll take that as a yes. It'll be fun Ishinomori-kun. You'll see. I hope you like it. I made it myself this morning, I was trying a new decoration with it."

From across the room, another figure came into the picture, carrying a box containing a variety of pinnies with numbers attached, so as to identify the various participants of Sports Day. Not that Ito Keiichi cared much about sports, but being helpful was very important.

It didn't hurt that the room was currently housing several rather...attractive co-eds. Not at all.

He was, though, surprised to see several of his fellow students huddled around the door to the gymnasium.

"What's going on, everyone," he asked, cocking an eyebrow at the group, and then more specifically at the door that seemed to be everyone's focus. "Door doesn't work?"

Misaki smiled at Keiito as he came over. She knew him from the Cooking club they were both a part of and tilted her head some looking back at him. "The Door is locked and no one seems to know how to open it. I said the lock should be picked but, I guess no one knows how to."

Kiriko returned the nasty look as soon as his back was turned, tossing her hair over her shoulder. Her second dirty look went to the blonde second year who was very obviously checking out Misaki's legs. She was glad she had waited to change.

Stepping away from her position against the wall, she approached the offending door.

"It must have been one of those automatically locking ones. We shouldn't have let it close..."

She looked behind her to the rest of the room.

"I've got extra pins if anyone wants to try picking it."

Shiori had been relying on peoples voices to guide her way, the two boxes she had balanced in her arms blinding her slightly. If the top box was just a bit smaller, she would have been fine, but all she could really see was the top of people's heads. The boxes weren't particularly heavy, either, being mostly filled with the plastic stripes used to make cheap "fences" of sorts. Still, when the rest of the group stopped Shiori didn't hesitate in bending to drop the boxes down onto the ground. Massaging her hands with a slight grimace, Shiori turned when Ito-san from her class asked what was going on.

"It's locked, I guess," she said. "I have no idea how to pick a lock though, and aside from just banjo-ing it or finding another door I'm outta ideas."

She paused, glancing down the hall behind them. "Eurgh, imagine how creepy this would be if it was at night though! There'd totally be a kil- er, a creep running out."

Considering the recent murder of one of her classmates, it would probably be wise to omit "murder" or anything associated with the word out of the conversation.
