Who: Shiori + Kozue + Tom
What: An accidental meeting
Where: Some street
When: Evening?
Why: What girl doesn't like a puppy?

Walking around without her sketchbook had sounded easy enough. It wasn't like she constantly had it with her or anything - when she went shopping that one time, she didn't have it with. Or... or...

Who was she kidding? She always had it with her, and it had become like an extension of her body. She hadn't realized how often she would whip it out to doodle some amusing or picturesque sight, but now that she was walking around town without it she was becoming increasingly aware of how often she used it. It was like a crutch, almost. Her convenient, portable escape from the real world. Real life was almost a scary place to be without it.

And then she saw a puppy coming her way. A cute, adorable little puppy. Immediately scampering over to it, she knelt down carefully to pet the thing. Giggling as it licked her hand, she finally looked up at the owner.

"It's so cute! Is it a boy or a g-" she began saying before she realized who it was. Quickly hurrying, she brushed off her knees before bowing lowly. "S-sorry, Sagaki-senpai! I didn't see you!"

Nevermind he was the one walking the dog.

Thomas looked down at his puppy and frowned.
Thus far he'd managed to hide the small creature, and avoid having anyone spot him when he walked it.

"A boy, according to the vet."

He looked around trying to figure out the best way to extricate himself from the scene.

The puppy on the other hand;

...was so much happier to be around someone. The small creatures tail snapped back and fourth so fast that it's entire bottom half wiggled along with it. When Shiori stood up the puppy immediatly moved to sniff out areas of bare skin to possibly lick.

Kozue was on her way back from dinner - Masahiro-kun, not technically her boyfriend at the moment, had decided to treat her at one of the nicer places on Noodle Alley, in what she had decided was an attempt to get back to being her boyfriend. Or something. He hadn't quite said as much, but that was the gist of the messages she'd gotten from his foot underneath the table for much of the dinner.

She was contemplating it on the walk back - they still weren't dating again, but dinner had been delicious, so it wasn't a total bust. She looked up, and caught sight of her schoolmates and... the most adorable puppy. The tiniest puppy.

"Oh, Sagaki-sempai, is that your dog?" She asked, striding over as fast as her small legs could carry her.

Relieved that Sagaki didn't seem to mind too much, Shiori went back down on her knees to lather the puppy with love and affection. He was so cute!

"You're such a good boy!" she cooed as the puppy rolled onto it's back before squirming upright to lick at her hand once again. To Sagaki, she asked, "What's his name?"

She continued playing with the puppy, giggling as it tried to lick every exposed piece of skin it could. It was so weird that Sagaki would have a puppy, let alone one as adorable as this! She would have thought he'd have a stoic puppy that growled if anyone came close - something more like him. Weren't dogs supposed to be like their owners?

Looking up when Kondo came over, Shiori picked up the puppy gently and stood to greet her too.

"Kondo-san, Kondo-san, isn't he adorable?" Shiori exclaimed, holding the squirming puppy in her arms.

"He... I never named him. I found him in an alley two months ago, it was raining, and he seemed sick, I took him to the vet to get checked out and now he won't stop following me."

Thomas figured there wasn't much point in lying about where the dog came from. At least not to these two. He didn't really care if the other persona users knew he wasn't a horrible delinquent. Belatedly, he realized it might give the girls the wrong impression anyway, that he was a sweet person who saved puppies from allies on rainy nights. This was not the impression Thomas wanted the other persona users to have of him.
He opened his mouth to correct the story, but then Wakanat stood and showed the pup to Kondo. He began to look even harder for an escape route, an action with the dog was not at all helping with.

The puppy's thought process seemed to be "New people! New people!" and given that he spent all of his time locked in a room with Thomas it was no wonder. He only squirmed in Shiori's arms because he wanted th eoption of dashing back and fourth between the girls, getting showered with affection equally by both of them.

"He's adorable, so incredibly adorable, hello puppy," Kozue chirped in a much higher voice, coming up to offer the dog her hand to sniff - and then immediately, she began scratching the tiny creature's ears and head. Only belatedly did she bob her head towards the two upperclassmen: "Sagaki-senpai, Wakanata-senpai, good evening." But even that was interrupted by the puppy. He was just too cute!

After a moment, the things that Thomas was saying got through to Kozue, and she looked up: "So you've had him for two months and haven't named him yet?" That seemed... how could someone be so hard-hearted as to live with an adorable little creature like this and not name it? What did Sagaki call the puppy: Dog? You? Puppy? But the hard-hearted image was completely at odds with him finding a sick dog and taking it to a veterinarian, and then keeping it when nobody came forward to claim it. Or, at least, that was what Kozue imagined had happened. (She also found "he won't stop following me" to be a bit suspect: the dog's legs were mere inches long. If Thomas wanted to outrun it, or leave it somewhere, he could have done so, she assumed.)

"Whaaaat? You haven't named him yet?" Shiori gasped, scandalized at the very thought. Why wouldn't Sagaki name this cute little thing?! The only reason why people didn't name their pets was if they were...

Oh God, Sagaki wasn't going to eat the poor puppy, was he?! He didn't keep the puppy for so long just to fatten him up, right? She squeezed the puppy closer, staring at Sagaki with wide, disbelieving eyes before snuggling her face into the puppy's back. The poor thing! He didn't have to worry for his life anymore, not that Shiori was here!

"K-Kondo-san, what are you doing out here?" Shiori asked, trying not to imagine the innocent little creature in her arms sitting on a plate, roasted, on Sagaki's table. Or as stew or a puppy skewer or-

The poor thing!

Thomas looked back and fourth between the two.

"I hadn't expected to keep him, I mean I took him to the vet, and then when it stopped raining I put him back but he just.. followed me back to the school.
I already lost my blazer once... he won't give it back."

Tom signed, and wondered how long they were going to coo and caw over the dog. In truth he had thought of a name, but it was too childish to contemplate. Besides he didn't intend to keep the thing.
He was a bit worried about what Wakanta was doing squeezing the pup, and began contemplating how to get him out of the girls arms as she talked to Kondo.

"I was eating dinner at Noodle Alley," Kozue explained, with the kind of small smile that comes from true, full-stomach satisfaction. Then she went back to scratching the puppy's ears, cooing quietly at him, some nonsense about what a good dog he was.

"He'd completely vanish inside your blazer," she commented, after a moment, casting an eye over to Thomas. He was a bit far from them - and here they were, cuddling his dog. Well, it wasn't like they were kidnapping the puppy - not exactly. "You could probably fit twenty of him."

Giggling at the thought, Shiori adjusted the puppy in her arms to hold him better. After all of his wiggling around the thing had been starting to get loose despite her tight hold on him.

"Kondo-san, would you like to hold him?" Shiori asked, moving the puppy slightly away from her chest to hold him out for Kondo to take if she wanted. "I feel bad about hogging him."

She turned to look over at Sagaki. He was kind of far away from them. But Satou had said to stay away from Sagaki, so maybe it wasn't that bad. It still seemed really rude though to be playing with his dog and have him stand off to the side.

Tom actually contemplated letting both women taking the dog, it would make it easier, but he figured the animal would just squirm away to follow him.

Finally he took a few steps forward, and frowned.

"It's okay... we should probably let you two get about your business. I'm sure you both have things to do and we... I... I don't want to keep you."

Kozue had already taken the unnamed puppy and cradled him to her chest, and was continuing to coo and whisper nonsense to him. "Thank you, Wakanta-sempai," she interrupted her puppy-babble to say. "Oh, no, Sagaki-sempai, I don't have anything else to do tonight, and all I have to do is get back to the dorms before curfew. So, what kind of dog is he? Did the vet tell you?" She went on, refusing to take the hint. At least not without spending some quality time with the puppy, first.

With her hands now free of the puppy, Shiori laced her fingers behind her back as she grinned up at Sagaki; the puppy had put her in a better mood.

"Same for me! I was just taking a walk," Shiori said, turning her attention to the puppy once again. Looking up once again as Kondo asked Sagaki questions, Shiori listened carefully. Maybe when she got home she could draw the puppy and Kondo. It'd be from memory, but it'd have to do for now since she didn't have her book with her.

Tom sighed, and put a hand to his forehead. He contemplated lying, and claiming the puppy belonged to his family. His father's house wasn't too far away after all, and then he wouldn't have to walk with both girls back to the dorms. Of course leaving them may not be the best of ideas either.
Part of why Tom had brought the dog along was so he could check up on the gang that was harassing people, and he was unwilling to leave either girl alone if they were around. Finally he sighed.

"Well if neither of you have any place ot be but the dorm rooms, then you can walk back with me, he's probably thirsty by now."

Tom looked to Kozue.

"He's a Lhasa Apso. They were originally bred in Tibet, and used as guard dogs... well alarm dogs."

The puppy had managed to get it's belly exposed, and the constant rubbing left proved that there was a rather big flaw in this apparent alarm system.

"Alarm dog? Oh, you're such a good alarm dog, yes you are," she had to break off from actual conversation to coo at the dog some more, and scratch his soft, tiny belly. Oh, man, her brain was melting from exposure to cuteness.

"'mm, I'm sorry, I've never heard of that kind of dog, though. My family doesn't keep pets." She nods, although not too regretfully - she wanted a dog as a kid, sure, but who didn't? Then, a thought strikes her, and she looks up: "So you're in the dorms, too, Sagaki-sempai?"

Because the dorms definitely didn't allow any living creatures that weren't paying tuition and attending classes: especially not puppies. (Or squirrels, she thought, remembering her room-mate's brief infatuation with the weird little creature. And the weird little creature's brief residence in their closet.)

Shiori had no idea how to spell the dog's breed, but she still repeated the name to herself in an effort to memorize it. Maybe Ayumu would know how to spell it; he was a smart guy, after all.

Though Sagaki's request was curious. Shiori supposed she could walk back to the dorms with them, but it was a little bit of a distance. Maybe she'd just walk half way? Or maybe she wouldn't go with them at all. Decisions, decisions...

"I'll pass on walking with you two," Shiori decided with a small grin. "I think I'm going to keep walking around here and maybe get myself a- oh, Kondo-san! If you still have time to kill, would you like to go with me to the convenience store? I still owe you from last time!"

Tom nodded, and looked around. He let out a breath, and reached out to take the small puppy from Kozue.

"I suppose if you two want to go to the convince store, I'll walk with you to... um... I'll walk with you."

He didn't want to let them know he was walking with them to ensure they'd be safe.
Of course the puppy ruined the image he was trying to project as it squirmed around to begin licking his cheek.

She handed the puppy over, a bit sad to give it up, but it was Sagaki's dog, after all. She turned to Shiori again, after watching the dog start licking its owner - and suppressing a giggle. How had Tom not understood gestures of affection, after living with this creature? It was -- really, a point of consideration for another time, at the end of the day. Shiori was waiting for a response.

"I do have time," she said, nodding. "So that sounds great. And Sagaki-senpai, if you want, you're certainly welcome to join us." Why did he want to join them, anyway? He sounded kind of uncomfortable about it - wouldn't he want to use the opportunity to escape from socialization as quickly as possible?

Remembering Satou's words about Sagaki, and the last time she had met the older boy, Shiori was a bit hesitant to have him tag along with her and Kondo. But... he had a puppy. And he hadn't said anything that would imply him eating the puppy - if anything, it sounded like he was going to keep the thing around as a guard dog. Though it was hard to imagine a cute little thing like that protecting someone from a bad guy.

"Alright then! Letsa go~" she cheered, pumping a fist in the air before laughing to herself. Taking a step forward, she spun around on the heel of her foot to face Kondo and Sagaki. "It sounds like a good day for some Ramune, doesn't it? Mm, I'm so getting myself a bottle!"

Tom starred for a moment. He was completely thrown by how excited Shiori was. He scratched the puppies ears, and tried not to smile as the creature tried climbing up his chest to lick his face more.

Tom finally set him down on the ground, and wrapped the leash around his hand. He looked back and fourth between Shiori and Kozue and silently began to follow them, not keen on revealing any *more* personal details.

"Mm, it might be nice," Kozue said, rather noncomittally, following along behind the now-excited Shiori. It was strange, what things this girl seemed to get enthusiastic about.

So, what were they supposed to chat about? They were from three different years, were in different clubs - wait, was Sagaki actually in any clubs? - and didn't have anything in common except for Paradise. She could have talked more about the dorms, she supposed - Shiori had liked hearing about them and Tom lived there. Or could have asked Tom how he liked being hafu at Nanakamado, but - oh, no, can of worms, not going there.

So she settled for a rather neutral, pedestrian, "So, what have you two been up to since we were all last together?" It was completely normal as long as all details of when we were together last were ignored. You know, the tentacle monster details.

"I've been.... researching for a school project."

Tom walked with his head down, and his hands in his pockets. The puppy, now on the ground trailed at his heals. The leash didn't seem necessary, as the puppy kept up with Tom's pace, and never once needed to be pulled along.

Blinking, Shiori wondered what was with the pause. And what kind of school project he could be doing. Maybe it was some third year thing..? But Satou-senpai would've complained about it, wouldn't he? Anything that would keep him away from women seemed to incur his wrath.

"What kind of project?" she asked curiously, swinging her arms as she ambled along with them. She was surprised that the puppy was following so obediently. He was a good boy.

"I was just taking a walk. Gotta get used to doing it without my notebook," she said, smiling half-heartily.

"Oh, you--without your notebook?" Kozue asked, two points of curiosity troubling her. First, what, Shiori didn't go anywhere without her sketchbook? And second, why was she abandoning it now? Clearly, it didn't make her too happy.

"Are you putting it aside for some reason, Wakanata-sempai?"

Tom looked away, at the mention of a school project. In truth he was researching Paradise, and didn't want to talk about it in public. He thouth the girls would get that.
Thankfully Kozue had managed to switch topics. He looked to Shiori, and spoke in his usual deadpan.

"Yeah, I can understand you cutting back in school, or ... other dangerous situations. But you do have a lot of skill, I wouldn't imagine someone with that much talent would just stop doing what's important to them in times when it wouldn't get in the way."

Interlacing her fingers behind her back, Shiori moved forward once again and turned to face them as she walked backwards.

"I'm practicing!" she said, "I gotta get used to not having my sketchbook with me, so I don't get really anxious and go into a withdrawal or something at that place. I still draw at home, don't worry! I just... don't carry it with me anymore."

It was like leaving a limb behind. But...

"Eh? Have you seen my pictures before, Sagaki-san?" Shiori asked, trying to think of where he could have.

"As long as you can make some of those really funny drawings when you get home - like - did you finish the one of Satou-sempai without his shirt?" She giggled, and kept on walking, swinging her arms a little. She had to step fast to keep up with the other two, but she didn't mind it. She was kind of used to that by now, really.

Tom nodded to Shiori's question.

"I saw the ones you did when we were doing that large canvas thing. You wanted to prevent Kondo and I from messing it up. It was very detailed. I imagine you have quite a bit of skill having spent so much time practicing, but I imagine there was a good bit of talent to begin with."

The way Tom said it, the comment was obviously not intended as a compliment. It was simply, in Tom's mind an honest assessment of skill.

Shiori blinked, thinking back on what Sagaki could be referring to. She never drew on canvases aside from the couple of times she went to an art club meeting, so what could he be...

And then it hit her. The shadow world, where they had that game of who could paint the most space. She hadn't even thought of covering as much space as she could - she just wanted to make a picture. To be honest, she had forgotten about the whole thing and was more than a little surprised that Sagaki had remembered. And was paying her such compliments.

Grinning, she thanked him with a quick bow before giggling as she straightened.

"I finished the picture of Satou-senpai while we were there!" Shiori told Kondo. "It's a bit sketchier than I'd like it, but it's done!"
