Who: Gendou and Tom
What: Discussion...if you can call it that.
Where: Rooftop
When: After school
Why: Because Tommy boy has some plans of his own.

Gendou looked at his watch, it was a quarter after the hour, the exact time the note had said to meet, and he was on the roof as it had said. The blonde council president sighed and rubbed his head, steaching some. He really didn't have time for such foolish games. He'd been scared earlier when he'd found the note and figured it had to be some doing of Maeko. After all, why would anyone in their right mind write him such tripe? No one knew about his past, well except for possibly Maeko, but he was going to take care of that soon enough. Gendou just relaxed some and wandered over to the edge to look out at the front gate.

It was a nice view, he decided and pushed a smile on his face. He wanted to take Takai up here when he had the chance. Just the two of them. Sighing loudly the scowl came back on his face. He needed to protect him no matter what. Takai was the first guy that honestly liked him...he didn't judge and didn't just want sex. He wanted...he wanted Gendou to be happy and vice versa. That's why he had to protect him from Sato, from Maeko now too.

Gendou was about to head back down the stairs when he heard the door shut and turned, "So you're the one that sent the message huh?"

"Thank you for coming Retsu-san."

Thomas had wedged himself in a back corner of the roof, he wanted to watch this man for a little while, to figure out what he was like when he thought he was alone.

"Well I'm not suprised it was you who sent me this Sagaki-san." Gendou crossed his arms. There was a neutral look to his face as he moved to the gate and leaned on it to look at the boy.

"So what is it that you want from me? You said you would help me cover things up, but what exactly do you think I need help in covering up? I came up here out of curiosity as to who would send such a silly note to me."

"Us charlie dogs need to stick together." Thomas said with a smile. "Lord knows no one else will."

He hopped down from his spot so he could stand face to face with the other boy.

"Did you know Sato Kei wrote poetry? He did it under a penname, so no one would know it was him. It seems like useless information, and I'm sure the police ignored it, but then information is never useless am I right Retsu-san?

It turns out Sato kept an online journal under this penname, and I found it. He talked about how he though the Student Council President was following him and he was worried."

Tom shrugged in false concern.

"Now I just thought... if someone found that out it would be pretty incriminating wouldn't it? In fact it might make someone think you *killed* Kei Sato. But of course that's ridiculous isn't it? You couldn't pssible kill someone could you Retsu-san?"

"I'd heard he was good with literature, I didn't know the extent," Gendou commented slowly. He snorted some and rolled his eyes. "Oh how impressive you managed to ferret out something about Sato-san. I'm sure that many people probably found the journal long before you did. I don't see your point in telling me about it. It's none of my concern."

He waved his hand, "Me following him? What for? I had no reason to bother with Sato-san."

Gendou slowly smiled some and sneered, "Are you trying to scare me, Sagaki-san. Because that's the dummest thing that could be said. Me kill anyone. What for? I have nothing to hide."

"Really Retsu-san? Then why did you have a copy of his schedule?"

Thomas tried to keep the innocent tone in his voice but it was hard not to sound smug. He pulled the folded piece of paper from his pocket and extended it toward Retsu.

"I bumped into one of the second years, and she dropped this and a few other things. It was the only one not in her handwriting, which is why it stuck out. Being student council president, your hand writing was easily recognizable.

I'd say you were fortunate that I was able to get this, it could really ruin your position couldn't it? But it still begs the question... why did you have it?"

He took the paper and gritted his teeth. Maeko was going to hear about this. Gendou tried to keep calm and smiled some, "Well,I was asked to give him some notes for a upcoming meeting from the music group. What reason other then that would I have it."

Gendou rubbed his neck, "Why do you even care? It's not that important."

"You needed to keep a detailed copy of his schedule to give him some notes for music class? I have to tell you. Of all the people who have lied to me to cover their tracks, that might be the worst one so far. The truth of the matter is... "

Tom reached down to straighten his tie. Then stood up stepping closer to the other boy.

"...This suggests you killed him. As Student Council President you could probably find a way into the school at night. You were following him around. That gives you means and opportunity. And I bet whatever reason you were following for might give a pretty damming motive."

Tom fixed the president with a dark look.

"So do you want to try again? Retsu-san? Why were you following Kei Sato?"

Gendou looked at him astonished. Was this fool mad, or just stuiped. He figured it was stupidity as it would be an insult to the insane people in the world to have someone like Segaki in their group. Crossing his arms the taller blonde boy narrowed his eyes, "Just what do you think you are insinuating Segaki-san? Why would I want to murder Sato-san? I have no motive to do such a thing, and also I wouldn't have the balls to kill anyone."

"I have that schedule due to the fact that Sato-kun and I had an agreement of sorts. I went to see him if he would keep his word about something, now if you're done wasting my time, I have somewhere to be."

"You were blackmailing him!"

Tom is clearly on the crazier side of things, as the thought hat the student council president was involved in some sort of illicit activity actually almost made him smile.

Tom fixed his gaze on Retsu, who hadn't even begunt o see the crazy Sagaki could pull out.

"What did you want him to keep quiet about?"

"That is my business Sagaki, now move before I have you suspened for this irratic behavior," Gendou scowled. "Your actions are wearing on my nerves and I really don't want to wind up causing you to wind up being removed from this school. Considering the circumstances in the last one."

He glared at Tom, "You think you can prove anything? I doubt it..."

Thomas grinned. When Thomas Sagaki grinned it was not a good thing.

"Oh Retsu-san, you don't me suspended. Because I don't care if I'm in school or not, and my family doesn't, but I can promise you that it wouldn't stop me from finding out who murdered Kei Sato. And it would mean that I would have twenty four hours a day to be your own personal demon.

Allow me to demonstrate."

He moved quickly towards Gendou, grabbing the other boy's shirt collar, and pushing him backwards in one swift motion.

"See people haven't been straight with me, they've lied, and they've said down right nasty things about my character, and that tends to make me just a little bit irritated.
I asked for a roof top meeting for a reason Retsu-san. See I did the math, and a fall from this hieght, it wouldn't kill someone.

So here are your options. Option 1. You tell me everything. Why you were following Sato, and if you killed him. Or Option 2; We both go over the edge. I've read up on how to reduce the damage I would take hitting the ground, never got to test it out but this is as good a time as any. When I wake up, I tell the cops, and the faculty that I had found out you were following Sato around, you pushed me off to keep quiet, and I grabbed you as I fell.

So with either option, if you're guilty you go to jail, which would happen eventually anyways. If your innocent, and you pick option 2, then all of your dirty laundry gets aired as the police investigate you thoroughly, your reputation is shot to hell.
If you pick option 1, and your innocent then I keep your secret. And not just I don't tell anyone, but I make sure anyone who knows doesn't talk. Maeko Akuba loses all evidence she has against you and promises not to say a word. You get the smartest student in this school covering your tracks.

It's your choice Retsu-san. I would prefer you pick option 1, because having to throw myself off a rooftop just to get some answers would really slow down my investigation, but don't think for a second I wouldn't do it."

The sudden swiftness of the grab took Gendou by suprise. He was totally caught off guard winced when he hit the back of the short wall that wasn't protected by the fence. Gendou looked down and his eyes went wide. He gritted his teeth and snarled.

"How about option three, I kick your ass and you leave me the fuck alone!"

Retsu aimed a well placed kick to the groin then smashed his fist into Tom's gut. He wouldn't be going over the edge, and he would rather die then let anyone know about Takai's relationship with him. If only that little brat hadn't have seen them, then he wouldn't have had to do what he had to.

Gendou grappled with Tom and hissed, "You think you're that smart don't you Sagaki, well you're wrong. The world doesn't care what you know, or who's lied to you, so long as you keep up a front, so long as you make them happy, and so long as people stay in the dark, things can be done and you can live a happy life."

"But you," he spat at Tom, "You and Maeko just like to fuck up what I do. Why don't you back the hell off now, and I won't call the cops for harassement, then we'll see who winds up in jail."

One would be surprised how often someone in Gendou's position would go for the groin kick. Tom had plenty of experience, and knew to move his knee forward to block the kick.
Blocking the kick left Tom open for the stomach hit, he tensed his muscles to keep the wind in his lungs, but the hit was hard enough for Tom's fingers to slip from Gendou's collar.

He purposefully dropped to one knee while the other man pontificated. As Gendou finished, Tom's leg snapped out in a sweep to bring them both toward the ground. Tom pounced on him, and grabbed his shirt again.

"Of course the world doesn't care what you do, every little idiot pretends, but we still have to follow the laws. Murderers go to jail Retsu! What are you hiding?!"

"Then why the hell should you! You can go to hell Sagaki! I'm not telling you anything!" Gendou struggled trying to keep the boy's weight off him. He pushed back with as much force as he could.

Neither probably, in the struggle, heard the sound of the roof door opening and foot falls slow and steady coming over, then running, and a shout of, "Hey! Get off him! What the hell?"

A tall boy with brown hair was soon pulling Tom off of Gendou. He was a third year as well, one of the members of the Basketball team. Takai Ichimori, recent all star, and one of the top students of their year. He scowled some at Tom then at Gendou.

"Alright what the hell is going on up here?" he asked seriously, "Retsu-sama are you okay?"

With the second boys entrance, Tom was pulled from the other boy. He rolled sideways and looked at the other two men.

He was prepared to fight two people at the same time. In fact he was more experienced with taking on more then one person.

"Your friend Retsu was stalking Kei Sato shortly before he was murdered. I wanted to make sure he wasn't the one who killed Sato. He was refused to confirm his innocence,"

Tom let it hang in the air. He expected the other boy to attack him as well, if the two were allied in their deception.

Takai blinked and stared at Tom then at Retsu and sighed, "Gendou...what is he talking about?"

Gendou looked away, "Look I told you I would handle it."

"Is that what you did? You attacked that boy?" Takai looked angry now and Gendou looked down. He clenched his fists. "I can't believe that you would do something like that! He was just a kid...please tell me that's not true. That what Sagaki-san is saying here is a fabrication...because if it's not...I do not want to be an accessory to murder Gendou!"

The president for the first time since Tom had brought him up here seemed almost innocent, quiet. He had his fists balled up pulling on his coat, "That's...not true...I didn't....I didn't hurt him..." he looked up. "Honestly Takai, all I did was scare him that's all I didn't want him talking about what he saw! I won't have her messing things up for you..."

Takai scowled some, "You think I care if she knows about us?"

"You should, it could ruin your basketball..." Gendou shouted and Takai hugged him tightly, "What...What are you...He'll see..."

"I don't care Gendou...I really seriously don't." Takai told him and then turned to Tom. He shook his head, "Please forgive my boyfriend he sometimes does idiotic things to protect us." Takai looked at Tom, "Gendou is no killer, I can vouch for that. The night that Sato-kun went missing, he was with me, at a movie. I can show you the ticket stub if you want."

Gendou looked away as Takai continued, "I don't know why you think he killed him, because that's silly...Gen...he wouldn't hurt anyone. He knows what pain does, he works at a hospital as a janitor. What made you think he would hurt him?"

Tom stood slowly.

"I had evidence that suggested he was following Sato. I didn't think he was responsible for Sato's death but..."

Tom shrugged. Of course sex was a good motivator for crime. But Retsu was innocent of murder, and that's what was important to Thomas.

"...When investigating the goal is to narrow down your options. I appreciate that you were level with me."

He looked to Gendou.

"If what you've told me is true, then I'll cover this up. Maeko Akuba won't bother you again. I'll see to it that she disposes of her evidence, I'll also make sure the police don't start sniffing around your situation."

With that he nodded, and turned toward the door.

Thomas paused and looked back toward the other two men.

"This entire school has no concept how to cover their tracks.

Of course this information doesn't leave this roof. But I'll still be taking care of Akuba.
If you have any other information about Sato you want to share it could be helpful."
