This behaviour really would scream 'abusive boyfriend' if she was a guy, huh?
Who: Maeko, Thomas
What: Oi.
Where: The library
When: Before Toru!Dunjin
Why: He dared to talk to Misaki.

Thomas was out of school. Maeko didn't know why. She did know, however, where he was. His non-japanese appearance made him stick out in people's minds and it made it very easy to ask after him. Eventually she'd run into someone who had seen him enter the library. That was a blessing in itself. She'd been apprehensive about speaking to him for the same reason she was apprehensive about speaking to Reizo about inviting Misaki over to his home and her priveledged knowledge of his...

...in any case, it was possible he'd be less likely to respond with violence in a public place.

"Segaki-senpai." She said from some way behind him. "May I speak to you?"

Maeko was a little irritated that she'd not managed to get what she wanted but Thomas seemed to realize already that Misaki had a habit of wandering into trouble. The possibility of her doing that couldn't be ignored. She already had other things she could use against Gendou if he made a move and it wasn't like she'd lost anything by giving Thomas a copy of the note if he was as intelligent as his ability to come up with a place to discuss this would suggest. If he found out anything else she needed to know she could always find other things to trade.

"Fine, but I don't have them now. If you come to the Club Room tomorrow it'll give me time to make copies. What's the question?"

He reached up to scratch his chin.

"Has Retsu ever threatened Kouchiesi Oubai? Or stalked him in a similar manner?"

If Thomas could connect Oubai and Retsu, then that would really help him start to build a case against the President. If not, then maybe Oubai really didn't get kidnapped, or maybe Retsu wasn't the killer.

"I don't know. My communication with Oubai-san has been limited and I only know Retsu-senpai as council president." Maeko said, thinking. "I think they may be aquainted, Retsu sent him messages over the school's journal system when he came back...that's the only communication between them that I know of. Sorry."

She packed the notebook back into her bag. "Are we done now?"

"We are. You can go."

Again with his terse and quick dismissal. He picked up one of the books and cracked it open.

The question ended up inconclusive. Either way he would have had to speak to Retsu, but now he didn't know if Gendou Retsu was a murderer or not.

Maeko nodded and left, turning the record setting on her phone off. Nothing particularly usable, she'd save it anyway. She'd make the copies tomorrow morning before lessons.
