Who: Kiriko and Reizo
What: Taking a page out of Souji Seta's (cook)book
Where: Reizo's place
When: Late night before the start of whenever Toru has to start crossdressing.
Why: It's like you don't even know me, form.

[ Kiriko is standing in Reizo's kitchen, staring sullenly at the counter. She has managed to get rice going on the stove, but otherwise seems to be expecting the various ingredients laid out to assemble themselves through her sheer force of will. When this clearly doesn't work, she calls over her shoulder in a princess-whine to rival Kozue's- ]

"I don't even know what I'm doing! It isn't going to be good! It isn't even going to be edible! Can't I just buy you lunch?"

He blinks when she leans in to steal his cigarette, and a moment after she’s plucked it out of his mouth a gun is pressed to her forehead. Granted, it’s bright orange and only capable of shooting sucker darts, but a gun is a gun.

His eyes narrow, eyes flinty and expression suddenly made of stone. When he next speaks, his voice is low and gravelly.

“You really wanna do this, punk?"

	She looks surprised for a moment, before a sly smirk pulls over her face instead. Cocking her head, she turns the cigarette around and nudges the end of it between the corner of her lips. "Hit me with your best shot." (Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)

His expression stayed the same, hard and defiant as he watched her, and when she finally put his cigarette in her mouth his eyes widened and he snorted.

And fired.

The bright orange plastic sucker dart hit her squarely on the forehead.

“You ain’t cut out for these streets,” he told her afterwards, blowing on the barrel of his cheap plastic gun.

“Also? Indirect kiss.”

"Ow," she winced, rubbing her forehead. That had stung a bit - though not enough to keep her smile from blooming again a moment later. She pulled the cigarette out of her mouth without inhaling and leaned down over the counter on her elbows, lifting her hand to nudge the smoke back against his lips.

"You're right. I'm not cut out for this at all. So how 'bout I get someone who is to make these for you for a week?"

She looked up at him imploringly over half-lidded eyes in that guilefully charming way so often employed by old movie stars.

"Double indirect kiss."

He took it with a half-grateful murmur, eyes only leaving her for the moment he rolled them at her oh-so-enticing method of trying to get out of her punishment and shook his head reproachfully, and snorted out a puff of smoke.

“Nope, you gotta find a good use for those busy little hands,” he said, returning the smirk.

Then he leaned in and pressed a simple kiss to her mouth.

“Direct kiss.”

	The pot behind her boiled over. With a vehemently muttered curse under her breath, she turned back around to manage it, pulling the pot off the heat and inspecting the damage. He blew out a breath in a puff of smoke and rose out of his chair to amble around the bar and into the kitchen with her, where he further inspected the ingredients and tools she had out and at the ready. He’d never been big into making bento, because making it for himself to eat at school was a tad pathetic in his book, but he’d become well versed in them thanks to his amazing ability to cajole them out of the rest of the student body, or acquire the confused affection of a spoiled rich girl.

He pinched his cigarette out and stuck it behind his ear, and moved over to retrieve the dart he’d shot at her earlier, and once he stood and reloaded his toy gun he bellied up against the counter and tapped each index finger in tattoo as he considered the assembled ingredients.

“I’m not gonna help you with any of the cooking or cutting, but I can tell you what I like.”

	She leaned back against the bar and folded her arms, looking slightly less sullen, but no more encouraged. It was some help, at least. If he had agreed to help with cooking and cutting, he probably only would have proved that much more terrible than she was. "So tell me what you like. And not 'just as a friend.'" He eyed her dubiously, crossing his own arms in front of his chest when he went back to staring down at the foodstuffs. She’d pulled out a lot of stuff that looked simple enough, and though he’d probably rather have something fried, he’d need to settle on basic stuff unless he wanted to visit a burn ward or have to pay to get his girlfriend’s finger reattached.

“Well, rice, obviously, and some zucchini’s nice.. I got some meatballs you can just heat and serve..” The last bit felt like cheating. He had told her everything should be hand made, but if he wanted any meat other than cold cuts he’d probably have to allow some sort of give. At least for now.

She should be relieved, right? Less work, and making meatballs and dumplings by hand involved actually getting said hands dirty, and nothing was grosser than meat and egg under your fingernails... but there had to be all kinds of stuff that was easily made but a step above heat and serve. Backing off of the everything-made-by-you rule was surely an attack on her competence as much as an act of mercy.

Not that she was particularly competent to start with.

"I can do pork cutlets," she offered a bit defensively.

"... Cucumber cups?" she offered, after eliminating everything with a preparation process tantamount to removal from a bag. She thought a little more.

"Plain onigiri, maybe, but it would be safer to stick with just rice."

She moved a box of panko meaningfully forward on the counter and went to investigate his fridge before planning anything further. It was surprisingly well-stocked - full of more stuff than she needed or could make, anyway.

"Hey, did you go shopping for this?"

“Sorta. A lot of it is from the store. You’d be surprised at what the old pervert can stock thanks to being right beside a rich ass school with rich ass students.”

“Rice is fine,” he said resolutely. Her making onigiri was likely to earn several whiny ‘eeews’ and the like, so it was definitely better for his own sanity (and safety) if she stuck to plain rice. He liked it better, anyway.

He shot the dart idly at the gleaming door of his fridge, and sighed when it didn’t stuck. The next shot hit Kiriko on the ass, and when it didn’t stick either he used his hand instead. That stuck.

And squeezed.

	It was a testament to all of the spontaneous groping that went on at his house that Kiriko looked up at the dart hitting her and went back to staring into the contents of his fridge when it was replaced by his hand. “Uh,” he said, looking over her shoulder and mournfully removing his hand. He shrugged and leaned further into her to better look into the fridge. “It’s a container with food in it. Check it and see, it isn’t gonna bite.”

He moved away to find the dart again, but on judgment that there was nothing more to shoot at (except more Kiriko parts) he put it back on the bar top and took to one of two stools on the kitchen side, where he surveyed her and his kitchen with a bored look.

“This would be more interesting if you weren’t wearing a shirt.” He declared.

	Another tsk. Difficult. But no yes or no on low-cut shirt and stirring, so that was some silver lining for the ordeal. He retrieved his cigarette and relit it, leaning back against the bar with his elbows and tipping his head back with a tedious groan. “Made ‘em. Kiriko looked halfway between shocked and scandalized, like he'd just told her that someone he knew was having an illicit affair with a platypus.

"Are you serious?"

He was serious. She could tell that already. She squinted at him with her jaw slack for a few moments longer, glanced at the tasty-looking-leftovers, then back up at him.

"Why the hell am I making you lunch, then!?"

The huge boy lifted his head to level her with an incredulous look, the burning tip of the edge of his cigarette flaring to brighter life as he took a particularly forceful drag off of it, and then he snorted out twin streams of smoke.

“You forget that you're bein' punished?” He asked her, eyebrow cocked.

“And besides, guys who make their own bentos are pathetic. Who do you think I am, Ito?”

"You owe me money," she declared, stabbing an accusing finger in his direction, "Or food. And don't think I forget about things like that!"

Her eye strayed back to the containers, and after a moments deliberation and a bit of prodding with utensils, she popped one of them into the microwave, replaced the others and retrieved the rest of what she needed from the fridge.

"Fine," she said, turning back around with a click of her tongue, "Eating it, then."

The rice was done - just the sidedishes and the vegetables, now, and of course putting the whole thing together. She had picked up and brought along a few cookie cutters shaped like stars and fish and other unimaginative but generally pleasant things. It was a crying shame that nobody made cookies cutters shaped like fists or skulls and crossbones - they would be altogether more appropriate. Kiriko wondered idly how long any of those would take to cut out by hand and firmly decided against it.

"Come help, since you can tell me if I'm doing it right."
