Maeko had been to Kanaye's home before but not as a guest. It made her nervous - large places often did. They made her feel very much like she wasn't meant to be there. If there was a doorbell she was ignoring it, she had had quite enough of buttons that made noises.

She'd arranged to visit before, right? So it should be okay. She knocked, first almost inaudiably and then again a little more firmly.

	A maid opened up the door. She looked at Maeko hesitantly, then closed the door and went back inside. The door opened again, a small voice said "one moment..." and all was quiet for a while. (Reply to this) (Thread)

	Maeko headed to Kanaye's room in silence, a little apprehensive after the maid's reaction to the whole thing but far less so than she would have been had she not spoken to Seiko earlier. She knocked on the door, once again initially inaudiably and then more loudly after a few seconds. (Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)

The door flung open. Kanaye appeared, smiling at Maeko. "Hey, Maeko! Glad to see you! How was your day? Was it alright? How's the family?" He asked, rapid fire as he ushered her into his room, closing the door behind him. It was...clean. The entire room was completely spotless. Nothing was out of place. Kanaye smiled again. "Do you want to sit down?" He asked, sitting on his bed.

Kanaye was less brightly dressed than usual but seemed otherwise fine. The neatness of the room still didn't surprise her all that much, she tended to take 'bedrooms are clean' for granted since she couldn't unroll her futon to sleep if hers wasn't. And she didn't really visit other people's bedrooms often. Misaki and Tamiko were not exactly representative of much at all.

And then suddenly she was assaulted by questions. "Huh? Ah! Busy, yes, kind of quiet?" She said, trying to answer them in order. She seated herself, glad he at least seemed well but not really able to shift the nagging feeling in the back of her head.

"I havn't seen you much around school, sorry about that. Have you recovered okay?"

	Kanaye nodded happily. "That's good!" he said, smiling. He nodded again, grinning. "Oh yes, I'm fine. I'm quite good, really. You couldn't find me at school, I have to go home straight after class. Maybe at lunch? I would love to have lunch with you. I'd make a bento! That'd be great! Yeah, I'll make you a bento!" He nodded to himself, smiling. "Sweet!" (Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)

	Words. Words. A whole lot of words. Maeko had to pause before answering, trying to work out what she'd just managed to agree to without saying anything at all. "Oh, um, sure! That sounds nice!" 	Maeko couldn't say she didn't approve of the idea of working hard but she was more than a little worried about the fact that Kanaye sounded like a motivational speaker, especially having had a whole lot of experience with faked smiles recently.
