WHO: Kozue and Keiichi.
WHAT: More cookies.
WHERE: On the beach behind the house. (In front? IDK.)
WHEN: The evening after the Photos thread and fallout.
WHY: Baked goods.

The day had been sort of shot for hanging out or lounging on the beach—normally, Kozue liked being watched, but right now, in the current context, it left a funny feeling in her mouth. So she had spent the afternoon quietly, and now, a bit after dark, had finally emerged onto the beach again.

In the interest of being circum--sneaky, really, Kozue could acknowledge it. In the interest of being sneaky, Kozue had kept her big sunhat on, although it itself was almost as distinctive as her hair. She'd put on a bathing suit, although in the slight chill of the evening she had pulled a wrap dress around herself—it helped with decency and warmth, a double benefit.

Once she hit the sand, she shrugged off her flipflops, and bent down to pick them up, before heading down to the water. Ito should be showing up, momentarily, with the promised cookies.

Maybe, Kozue mused, she should get publicly dumped by her boyfriends more often. Apparently, it got her loads of free sympathy snacks.

"Masami and I were in a smallish town earlier to get Bromonade for everyone," Keiichi replied, thoughtfully. "I think there was a club nearby. We're near a beach, there have to be clubs around here somewhere if that's what you're interested in."

Really, they were far from Nanakamado, but some things didn't change. Where there were large quantities of young people, there were always facilities to service them.

"I'd like to tag along, if you don't mind," he said. "Being around most of the rest of the group 24/7 has me jittery."

"Jittery?" She asked, and then, no, that actually made pretty good sense, thinking back upon it. "You'd be welcome to tag along. I know there's got to be something interesting, even if there isn't a club," which, again, being with Keiichi would make difficult if not awkward, and probably both, "just somewhere that isn't full of, well, certain people."

"You know."

"So, no Shirai and Oubai," Keiichi concluded, grinning. "That is a noble goal I can get behind."

Keiichi didn't have much to bring. There was the blanket, but he could fold that up and take it with him.

"I can lead us towards that town, and we can see what we find," he offered. "Though, we're not really dressed for clubbing, are we?"

"It's the beach? Who cares?" She was grinning, now, wider than she had been since she came outside, at the prospect of going somewhere and the thrilling immediacy of the decision. "I mean, in resorts, the dress code is usually really lax because people come in off the beach to everything, so why should things be any different here?"

"Either way, even if we take an Oubai-Shirai-free walk down to the town, get turned away for being underdressed, and walk back, that's... what, a good hour or so without them, right?" Half-consciously, them had been expanded to include more people, though Kozue did not want much to think about who, precisely.

"Besides, what kind of idiot would not let me into a club, no matter what I was wearing?"

"That is a fair point," Keiichi had to admit. He would defer to her on this. Keiichi was used to Hokkaido and cold and snow and such, and so resorts were not part of his usual itinerary.

She was continuing to make good points. No Oubai and Shirai for a while was definitely a welcome thing, in whatever dose he could get it.

At her final comment, he realized that she was, you know, wearing a bathing suit. Sure, there was a wrap dress, but it was still a bathing suit.

The memory of half of the group watching her play tennis flashed back to his mind. "Yeah," he agreed, remembering catching more people than he'd thought possible staring at her rear end. "I'm pretty sure you'll be allowed in."

There was nothing wrong with looking, right?

"And I'll make them let you in," she confirmed, with a wink that had surely been cribbed from some television idol or another. "I have that power."

With a laugh—this really had turned her day around, and she knew it, whether Keiichi did or not, she wasn't sure. She wasn't sure if she needed to announce this, and eventually decided against—she rose from the blanket, and dusted the sand off of her dress. She scooped her shoes up, resolving to put them on once they arrived at civilization.

He was, if nothing else, thankful he'd put on a shirt before this, even if he did just have flip-flops. "Well, in that case," he grinned back at her. Keiichi was occasionally surprised how well they got along now, but it wasn't something he was going to complain about.

They seemed to have a plan now, so Keiichi picked up the tray of cookies. He could leave it on the front porch of the beach house for anyone who wanted them, along with the blanket, and pick them up when they came back.

"Shall we be off, then," he asked, grinning at her. This day was definitely looking up. Civilization was always good. It meant less sand. Keiichi was still not a fan of sand.

"Let's!" She was still dusting the sand off--she didn't hate it, but she didn't like it enough to let it stay under her dress for particularly long. She brushed at her sides until it seemed she'd removed the nearest amount to what she needed to, and then nodded.

"Alright, you going to ditch those?" She nodded to the cookies and the blanket--"I want just one more, ooooooone more, and then we're good to go."

(THREE HOURS LATER)

The doors to Club Pandik were thrown open, a German-sounding techno beat following two young people who should not have been allowed into said establishment.

The reasoning for them getting in was most likely visible to the male of the pair, since he was walking behind the female.

"That," Keiichi pronounced, swaying a bit under the influence of a pina colada, two strawberry daiquiris, and a mango margarita, "was absolutely *awesome!*"

Ito staggered forward, reaching out for a moment to steady himself on the woman's shoulder.

Kozue was at about the right height to steady people, although she lurched forward with the sudden pressure, wobbled, and then kept her balance. 'Balance'.

Her response was at first so full of giggles that it was impossible to understand to anyone, perhaps even herself; it resolved, somewhere in the middle of the sentence, to, "... if only that boy hadn't turned out to be a huge Hokkaido Mask III fan. Then we'd all be---" A pause. A giggle. " 'unno. But we'd be something."

Keiichi was listening about as carefully as a Keiichi with fruit and rum in his stomach could. "It wasn't JUST that," he insisted. "If you ask me, that guy looked all kindsa shady. Or maybe he was wearing shades. One of those."

It took Keiichi a few moments to come up with what he thought Kozue could be doing. "I know! You'da been out on the dance floor with him just like alla those others! Didn't know you could fuck with clothes on. Could make someone jealous like that."

Expletives in Keiichi's vocabulary tended to come from his father, who used them considerably more often.

"You absolutely, absolutely can f--"

She stopped, wobbled, and thought better of making that comment, so she settled for, "Eh, he wasn't that cute, anyway. You chased all the cute ones off before the second round, senpai! I mean, they weren't all giant creeps! Some of them were respectable and at least twenty!"

She stumbled a few more steps, whether or not Keiichi was leaning on her, and peered back at him: "Wh-hai-hait a minute, this whole blitz is to celebrate my not having anybody to make jealous anymore so, who's jealous?"

"They were all staring at your ass!" he blurted out, giggling a bit as he watched her wobble around. "Least they could do is pretend, ya know? Like this!"

Keiichi did what seemed to be his best impersonation of "checking Kozue out while still making a modicum of eye contact."

"If they'da done that," he proclaimed, "I wouldn'ta had to show 'em the German suplex!"

Yes, he'd German suplexed one patron. This may or may not be why they had to leave, your call.

"And not REALLY jealous," he explained, wobbling a bit back and forth as they walked. "You're hot, y'know? And all those other guys kept walkin' over, and you didn't even..."

He cut himself off. Even drunk, he seemed to know that finishing it might not be the best of things.

"Aw, that's just the way it goes," Kozue replied, noncommittal, not sure exactly what they were talking about after all; so she settled on pieces of conversation that she did remember. "I think it was awesome that you actually suplexed that guy right onto the dance floor! I mean, he was just being a big baby about it afterwards. Although maybe if you didn't feel the need to chase away of prowrestling attack every guy that flirted with me?"

Would have been helpful.

"You could also have suplexed that girl with the..." She gestured to her chest. "I don't think she'd have minded at all."

"Thanks," he exclaimed. "Felt good to suplex someone for real. And I din't suplex ALL of em, just the bad ones!"

Yeah, this was going downhill, fast.

"She just wanted me because of my name," Keiichi slurred. "Not hard for her to figure it out, cause you were all "Oh, he's Kenjiro Ito's kid!" every five seconds..."

Keiichi reached out, grabbing onto her arm to steady himself. "Sides, you were doing much better than I was. If only any of 'em had been decent..."

"They were decent!" She insisted. "Sunglasses or facial hair does not make someone indecent! You're too picky."

She wobbled, righted herself again, and, Keiichi attached, peered around the empty-ish street.

"But whatever, it's water under the dam now. So. Uh, which way is Satou's house?"

"I think it's that way," Keiichi replied, walking with her towards the right, but pointing to the left. "I think, anyway. I mighta had too much to drink..."

He opted to ignore the decent vs. not discussion. It wouldn't end well, he figured.

"You're--wait--direction, ack," Kozue cried, tried to walk in the direction he pointed, not the direction he walked, and stumbling. "Whu, wait! You did have too much to drink, don't get us lost!"

"Because I had too much to drink and I have no idea where we're at."

"Why 'm I in charge of being the one who didn't have too much to drink," he slurred right back at her. "I get to have fun to, y'know."

The town wasn't that big, he knew. All they have to do is..

"The beach!" he blurted out. "We just gotta find it!"
