Toru had been trying very hard not to listen up until this point. Or rather, he was so much more focused on following the group that he neglected to listen. But when his name was brought up, in conjunction with Reizo's, he had to butt in.
"Sempai... d-don't talk about me like I-I'm not here. I-I admit, the point you're trying to make is important... b-but... owch." That incident was something Toru really wished he could have just left behind back in May.
