Investigation Day 1
Who: Investigation Team, S!Kiriko, Hapless NPCs
What: Investigating Kiriko
Where: Kiriko's Dorms
When: Sunday
Why: Time to see what they're up against.

Kiriko's quad was more of a standalone building, adjoined at the back to the rest of the dorms' common room. Considerably more private, and from the looks of it, considerably more pricey.

This only made the appearance of two uniformed girls sitting glumly on the curb outside look all the odder.

One thumbed the pad on her cell phone, looking thoroughly annoyed with whatever was or wasn't coming up on the display. The other girl held a doorknob in one hand and every few seconds, out of some kind of compulsion, twisted around to cast nervous glances at the door behind her where the knob had once fit quite snugly.

"It's Sunday, nobody's going to come today," grumbled the first.
"But what are we supposed to do? I think she might have nailed it shut..."
"We could always stay with Ayase..."

Reizo would’ve bit her, but he was too occupied staring dumbfounded at Kozue and she kept her hand far enough away from his mouth to prevent it. Instead he grunted, grit his teeth against the pain, and fell back down to the ground with a wince. He rolled his arm in its socket, glared back at the gaggle of idiots called a team to keep them from looking too smug, and shouted up at the window to call Kiriko a cunt while rubbing his sore arm with his free hand.

“Yeah, I’m fine,” he grouched back at Maeko, giving her a considerably less dirty look than the rest of the groups. “Stupid bitch. Now would be a good time to find out if hurting those things out here affects them any.”

Reizo’s mounting anger synched up perfectly with Toshimi’s suggestion, but his arm ached too much to vault back up there and try again at the moment, so instead he just stared moodily off to the side.

“I’m surprised she even wears underwear,” he said after awhile.

Lost to most of the group on the side (as per usual in investigations) was Keiichi, who had a slightly unique perspective on these events, considering, well, his girlfriend was now being held captive by a Shadow.

Logic and calm were his usual hallmarks. What kept him going in a world where everything seemed to be going to Hell.

He took three steps. They weren't towards the window. It was too high off the ground, and short of finding something to throw, he wouldn't be able to break through with any quick strike.

But with the Shadow safely on the other side of her window, the other target of his rage remained.

High on the list of good ideas this one? No, not really. Keiichi's eyes, however, indicated pretty clearly that he didn't give much of a time.

The back of his hand travelled at high speed, catching Shirai across the cheek in a move not really intended to hurt the other student as much as get his attention.

"Shut. The. Fuck. UP!" Keiichi roared, well, about as close as the Cooking Club president could roar. "My girlfriend is on the other side of that window with one of THEM, and your immediate response is to crack jokes? What the fuck is wrong with you?"

Whirling on his feet (a pretty clear sign he was out of it, considering that his back was now to the man he just backhanded), he next directed his anger at the window, or more accurately, the thing holding his girlfriend captive. This time, he didn't scream, didn't even raise his voice.

"Let her go," Keiichi said, quietly, calmly, taking steps towards the window, "or there will be no amount of yen in Japan that will be able to put you back together again..."

Well it looked like Tom had been right about Ito. He put a bit much into his reaction, and Tom hoped the others would be able to prevent a fight from breaking out. Because the thought occurred to Tom that they needed to get in and the window probably wasn't going to work.

"Keep trying to get that window open!"

Tom turned and rand from the group for the nearest door inside. There were other entrances to Kiriko's room, ones he hadn't tried, and if those failed, and they still weren't in, then they would just have to use the rope.

Reizo couldn’t recall ever being backhanded in his life. The anger that’d been brewing up in him in wake of being pushed off the window dipped, dissipated, and a great humor took its place. A roar of laughter erupted out of him, and he nearly doubled over with it. “I don’t get,” he wheezed out between gales of laughter and gasps of air, “how a badass like your dad got stuck with such a melodramatic little queen for a son. I guess his karma just sucks ass.”

He straightened up and dabbed at his eyes, shoulders shaking as his laughter died down into a low chuckle, then cut off completely. A final, cleansing breath and he was ready for action again. He eyed the window, then the back of Keiichi’s head, the window again, and jogged back a short ways so he could get a running start towards the window again.

He veered off mid-course and punted Keiichi in the nuts instead. After he tugged his foot free, he patted his back pants pockets to find his gloves. He pulled them on and eyed Keiichi’s back, spat his cigarette at the boy, and walked past him and up to the window. His chain clinked and rasped as he unwound it from around his waist, and started to do an odd jig-hop to lash the chain at the pane of glass.

A solid hit cracked the glass, and the next shattered most of it. The report the strike gave was sharp and noticeable, glass crumpled and fell inward and Reizo hopped back out of instinct.

He frowned up at his work, dropped his chain, and launched himself upwards to grab the windowsill once more. He cleared the glass out with the back of his hand haphazardly, glad for the leather gloves, and tugged himself up inside, clumsily slammed his chest into the table underneath the window on the way in, but rose with as much dignity as he could muster as he dusted himself off.

“So about that door!”

Kanaye smirked at Maeko. He was very good at annoying people, he had to admit. And he was even better at annoying people in a way that they can't prove that he was trying to annoy them. Not that that stopped some people from attempting to kill him, but you win some, you lose some.

Kanaye just blinked at Keiichi's little outburst. It was...interesting, at least. You'd think that he would've learned from what Reizo did to Kanaye. "Wow. I thought I was the stupidly confrontational one. We should make a club, we can make jackets." Taking Reizo's lead, Kanaye jumped to the windowstill, barely grabbing it. He pulled himself over and landed...not so gracefully on the floor. Jumping up, he posed. "I have arrived!" he shouted. Having done his one stupid thing for the minute, he turned to Reizo for a two-for-one bonus. "I take it you have practice with breaking in windows?"

At the sound of glass breaking, Kozue's head shot up; initially, she winced, and then just stared. Wow. Even if Reizo was a jerk, that was kind of badass. (It also made her wonder about what he spent his free time doing. That criminal.) After Kanaye followed him, she looked back over to S!Kiriko in what she intended to be a completely innocent way: "Orrr... Maybe we're not just going to leave you alone. Whoops."

She shrugged, and distinctly hoped that the Shadow decided the two tall, athletic boys were more of a threat than she was. Or that they did something to distract it right away.

The door Reizo had asked about quickly clicked open. Once Outside TOm had checked it, and realizing it was locked made him figure it was very likely only locked. The shadow wouldn't lock the door if she had nailed it closed.

It took him a little while to pick the lock, an action which would have likely been rather obvious to thoe inside the room, except for the sudden distractions of people entering.

Tom entered and shut the door quickly behind him so that the Shadow couldn't escape. Well technically it could, but that was something Tom...

His thought shifted as he saw Kondo tied up on the ground and he moved toward her, flipping his knife out, he leaned down and began cutting through the bedsheets.

At the intrusion, Kiriko's head shot towards the window - she had imagined they'd be coming in that way sooner or later, and had been moving back towards the door when it swung open. Tom leapt forward to help Kozue, and Kiriko watched this with a frown, shutting the door and backing into it to lean against it once again. She cocked her head and smirked at the intruders

"Arm feeling better already?" She simpered at Reizo, then glanced at Kozue, then looked back at her pile of work and clicked her tongue in irritation. Behind her back, she gripped the doorknob. "Just take her along with you, then. I don't really care, as long as you leave me alone."

She twisted the knob in the wrong direction behind her back, opening the door and stepping back across the threshhold, then slamming it furiously shut behind her.
