"Eh, maybe they won't get full and decide to have you too," said Yuuto to Noriko, mostly not seriously. He only...vaguely recognized Renju, probably seen her around somewhere but never talked to her. "So, we'll filter off from the main group and look for a door, yes?

Noriko was about to respond to Renju and Yuuto but hesitated when she saw another approach them. She had seen this girl around before, a second year named Masami. Noriko was beginning to find it sad that she knew most of the names of first and second years. Didn't she have anything better to do with her time?

"Masami-chan," she held up her hand in a small wave. "Yeah, we finished pretty early... we were just going to go explore places we shouldn't."

"Oh, Cherry-kun." He had seen around too, and it wasn't hard to not hear about the kendo team's star member when you were in a sports team yourself. "Yeah. It's not as if there's a lot you can see about geology in the first place."

...Masami-chan? Cherry-kun? Masami wasn't sure what she thought of how she was being referred to by Noriko and Yuuto. She figured that it wasn't very important for the moment, though.

"Explore places you shouldn't?" Masami asked, her interest piqued.

"Mmhm, you can tag along if you like," Noriko replied. "But it's about time we got started. I'll lead the safari." she began heading off toward the janitors closet she had found near the back of the museum, toying with the strap of her bag anxiously.

When she reached the door, she looked back to Renju, "What's the time?"

"11:59." Renju follows along, still staying tight-lipped, though she inclined her head politely towards Sakuraba-san when she arrived. It looked like there was going to be a decent-sized crowd for what was likely going to be a disappointment.

"Which of us is going to open it?"

"I could?" Because he doubted they were going to get anything out of it, anyway. He assumed it was already noon, and once they reached the janitor's closet, he gave it a weird look, for a moment. Turn the door handle backwards, huh?

...He wasn't sure how the logic worked in that, but how many rumors had logic in the first place? Yuuto reached for the door. "Well, here goes."

The door opened.

Renju wasn't quite sure what she was expecting, besides, well, nothing. If this was "Paradise", it certainly didn't look like anything special.

Despite her senpai being there, she decided to take the lead, and stepped through the door first.

Noriko watched quietly, one brow quirked, as Yuuto pushed open the door. She just peered in quietly, not having any desire to move. She was tired of leading the safari. Luckily, Renju took the place as leader and stepped in first. Prompted to move, Noriko wandered in after her.

Masami wasn't exactly sure what was going on. She watched as Yuuto turned the door handle backward and pushed the door open, unsure what to expect. She cautiously didn't step in at first, but then Renju went in and was followed by Noriko.

Steeling herself for anything, Masami stepped through the doorway.

...It was in a way, slightly embarrassing for him to have let the girls go on ahead, 'ladies first' aside. If there really was something in there, they would be the first to meet it and...

Not that he minded, entirely.

After the other three went in, Yuuto followed.

It was... a janitor's closet. Not exactly paradisiac. In fact, it was exactly what she'd been expecting to see.

"Well," Renju muttered, hiding her disappointment, "so much for that. Let's--"

[pi-pi-pi pi-pi-pi]

She frowned sharply at the interruption and pulled her phone back out, staring blankly at it. There was nothing on the caller ID. No one ever actually called her--at least, not anymore. So why on earth...

She put it to her ear. "Hello?"

"Persona."

"Well, this turned out to be more exciting than I could have ever imagined," Noriko replied. She glanced at Renju as her phone went off, before she felt her own phone vibrate in her bag.

Well, how weird was that.

She pulled it out of her bag and flipped it open, not bothering to say anything since she hadn't seen a name or number on the phone.

And, essentially, heard the same thing as Renju did.

The man standing inside of Paradise now hadn't been there for most of the conversation. In fact, the first thing he'd seen was his Cooking Club comrade raise her cell phone to his ear, and experience the same thing he had a month and a half or so ago.

On his way back to the registration point, Keiichi had spotted the group of students working at the door. The rumor had claimed another group of unsuspecting victims. He'd been prepared to go in after them, for once in his life to be the hero. And to some extent, he could do that because they had no idea what this place was.

But then the calls were coming. Persona-users. Like him. There were at least fifteen now, by his count. What the Hell was going on?

With few other options, he stepped forward into the group, some of whom he knew, some of whom he didn't. "Welcome to Paradise, everyone," he said, quietly. "This place isn't exactly safe, though, so stay close, and I'll do my best to answer the ten thousand questions probably running through your heads right now."

Yuuto felt his cellphone vibrate and pulled it out from his pocket, answering it almost immediately. He didn't bother to check for caller ID by habit, seeing most of the time he knew who was going to call him. He just didn't expect to hear one single word before whoever it was hung up.

He turned to look at Keiichi, with a raised eyebrow. "You could start with the phone call."

"I-ito-san?" Renju nearly dropped her phone. Sure, she'd guessed that the Paradise rumor and the strange behavior of the group out in the woods were connected, but that had just been idle speculation.

And apparently Tanaka-senpai and Mizushima-senpai had gotten the same calls she had. Even more baffling. "That would be a good place to start." She looked at the phone again and shook her head wonderingly.

The expression on Keiichi's face was neutral as he regarded the other boy. "Redial that number, and you'll find out," was all that he said. "You all need to find out for yourself. Once you do, I'll explain the rest."

They did have to find out for themselves. After all, finding a god or mythological creature was in your head was a bit..jarring.

Noriko said nothing as Keiichi approached the group, instead regarding him with a look of skepticism. Yeah, yeah, sure they all got the same phone calls but what the hell was going on here, anyways? Where were all the spooky monsters or whatever?

Glancing around at the others, she gave a simple shrug and redialed the number, holding the phone up to her ear tentatively.

For a moment, nothing happened, then her brows furrowed as she felt a sharp pain jolt through her head. It was vaguely similar to smacking her head against a sharp corner of a table or going for days without a cigarette. Except, you know, twice as bad.

She made a small face, one hand going up to cradle her forehead as she continued to hold the phone up to her ear. She supposed that, of course, she could have been hallucinating but it wasn't everyday that the air began to waver and then a bizarre looking thing with wings appeared in front of her. The creature looked female with blonde hair and clothed in a skimpy emerald outfit.

"I wasn't aware I was calling for Tinker Bell," she looked back to Keiichi, brows raised.

Renju was at an utter loss for words. This... thing was completely impossible, and yet she was looking straight at it. There was just no way...

Staring resolutely at her phone, she pressed her thumb to the redial button, and--

She stumbled and fell to her knees with a cry, clutching her head as white-hot pain lanced through it. When the worst of it had passed, she slowly lifted her head, only to find a tall, powerful man--like some stereotype of a Western god--standing in front of her, bearing a burning stalk of some plant she didn't recognize and with a deep, bloody wound in his side. "W-what the..."

"Those things," Keiichi stated, in what had to be a shockingly calm voice for the others, "are what are apparently called "Personas." They're part of us, somehow. We did a whole bunch of psychological research, most of it doesn't convince me. Regardless. As you've just found out, you summon them here by hitting redial on your cell phones. Don't ask me why, we don't know that yet either."

Ito-san nodded, and cast a glance in the direction of the school's star swordswoman. "If the pattern holds, she'll be getting her call pretty soon. If and when she does, we need to go. There's some sort of emergency back in the real world, and they've asked all the students back to the registration point."

He paused for a moment, as if trying to let it all soak in. "On the way back, I'll give you guys the short-form of the full story."

It was only a few moments more before Masami's cell phone rang, just as Keiichi had predicted. From having seen the what happened to the others, she already knew what would happen to her, but in spite of that she still checked the caller ID as if hoping it were some mundane, ordinary number.

Nothing. No name, no number. Of course. This was all so confusing, but Masami decided not to ask questions... for now at least. Taking a deep breath, Masami answered the phone.

Persona... was the only word she heard before the click of the other line hanging up.

"Well... here goes..." Masami said as she pressed redial on her phone.

Almost immediately she had to struggle to keep herself from screaming as the pain washed over her. It was tough, but through sheer force of will Masami was able to remain steady, though she did bring a hand to her forehead.

The air in front of her began to distort as a man in samurai armor appeared in front of her. He was holding two swords: one a katana, the other a wakizashi. The latter he gripped inverted-style.

The pain subsided, and she turned to Keiichi. "Ito-san, now that that's over with, I think we'd all like to hear this story of yours."

Seeing all that, Yuuto looked down to his phone. Yup, no caller ID. For a very short moment, he contemplated on whether he should even bother trying, seeing he already knew what was going to happen at this point. Still, he was curious...

"Might as well," he said as he hit redial on his phone.

There was a sharp pain, like a very bad headache, and Yuuto visibly flinched as a hand went up to cradle his forehead. When he managed to look up, he saw a large blue dragon, holding an orb (no, no, pearl, probably, like in those stories) in one of its claws.

Despite himself, he smiled a little.

"It's going to be a complicated story, I'm guessing?"

"As you may have figured out, I've already been through this. Mine is an Indian volcano god by the name of Agni."

Lord, it all still SOUNDED utterly ridiculous, but they'd just experienced it. Not like they could really deny it.

"There's a group of us who have this ability," Keiichi continued. "We have gone in here on multiple occasions. We don't quite know what's going on, but suffice it to say, we found both Oubai-san and Ishinomori-san in here. They both also have the ability. When in here, we fight these...things. Shadows. The personas seem to give us enhanced combat abilities. I, for example, can use...fire magic, as ridiculous as that sounds."

He continued to look at them, trying to read any signs of reaction or anything else. This was, after all, slightly traumatic.

"The full story is a bit more complicated than that, and you really should meet the group as a whole before we tell it...though I imagine Sonozaki-san and Sakuraba-san probably figured it out, they ran into us in the woods. For now, though, we need to go. The teachers are probably looking everywhere for us..."

The wounded apparition--Prometheus, something in her mind helpfully supplied--had dissipated, and Renju picked herself up unsteadily, brushing dust from her skirt. She really wasn't sure what to think. Her mind was busy, overwhelmed with what had happened here--it was just too much to completely process yet.

She'd save the quiet panic for the privacy of her room.

"This would explain Sagaki-senpai's 'anti-bullying club outreach program' story," she finally remarked quietly, slipping her phone back where she'd found it. "We should still have a few hours, though, shouldn't we, Ito-san? I thought we weren't due back till later this afternoon."

Shaking his head, Keiichi frowned.

"Something's come up. They're asking all students to report to registration. I don't know why, but I can't imagine it's anything good. If you guys have any further questions, ask them on the way back. Doesn't help us to get in trouble with the school."
