MEETING V2

Maeko had been amoung the first to slip away from the group. She clooked around the room in search of a table that nobody and an excuse to go over to. It needed to be next to a wall, preferably in a corner to minimize the amount of directions they could be approached from. Not be close to a litter bin, counter or vending machine. She exentually spotted one that was good enough and made her way over to it.

Museums were boring. That was what Kozue had figured out, after wandering around for the morning. That, and museum attendants kind of glared at you if you spent the entire time texting. She'd spent a bit of time by herself, having lost track of her friends and classmates, and by the time lunch rolled around, she was actually looking forward to the meeting with the other Persona users. Well, a little. At least there'd be people there. And as long as nobody tried to kill someone else with a tray...

She caught sight of Maeko in the cafeteria, and crossed over to the table that the second-year had just staked out. "Hi, Akuba-senpai," she said, nodding a bit gingerly.

Ordinarily, Keiichi might have actually found the museum exciting, but there was more important work to be taken care of, and as he entered the cafeteria, his mind was on the fact that they all had a lot to discuss. Without Reizo there, the chances of success were considerably higher.

It didn't take him long to find the proper table, considering Akuba-san and Kondo-san were already there.

"Hello, Akuba-san, Kondo-san," he said, as he approached the table and took a seat next to the first-year girl. "Everyone okay today?"

"Most of you are, at least."

Kanaye was just waiting for someone to say that so he can pop in dramatically. With a bit of a flourish, he sat down as far away from the others as he could. He wanted to save the spots for some girls, after all.

"Maechan, Kochan, Keikun." he greeted, nodding to them in turn.

"Ito-sempai, hello." Kozue settled down with a small, pleasant smile, the sort of expression she was so frequently possessed of; "How are you feeling, Satou-sempai? Any better?" There was, in fact, some genuine concern beneath the societal nicety of asking how he was, somewhere.

Well, if he was healthy enough to be dramatic about his injuries, they probably weren't going to kill him any time soon.

Toru had noticed the team filtering away from the main group and silently followed after them. When he arrived in the cafeteria, he shyly waved to the four students already there and sat down.

"Hi, everyone... er, sorry that I missed the meeting yesterday... And Satou-sempai, how are your injuries?"

Toshimi entered the cafeteria and looked around until she saw where the group was starting to assemble. She headed over and took a seat at the table, leaving space around herself so as not to impose on anybody.

"Hello, everybody," she said politely, smiling. "I hope you can excuse my lateness yesterday."

Misaki had been looking around taking lots of notes about the geological museum. The more notes she had the better her mother would feel about this trip, though by now her hand was cramping and she was having to switch between writing in japanese and english, though the english was not as neat as the japanese -she was still having trouble with, so as to keep her hand from hurting too much. Eventually she had to take a break and made her way into the cafeteria.

After getting a flavored milk from a vending machine she noticed the group and headed over to them waving happily and sipping her drink, "Hello Maeko-chan, Toshimi-chan, Toru-kun, Kozue-chan, Keiichi-sempai, and Satou-san..." she glanced at Kanaye and held out one of the extra drinks to him, "Here Sempai you can have this one, Milk is supposed to help with injuries."

She then sat down next to Toru and shook out her wrist, "Maeko-chan do you think that a notebook full of notes will be enough for my mother?"

"Hmn. Seems I'm late."

Kouchisei was sitting to the rear of Kanaye. After coming into the cafeteria he'd noticed the group sitting around a table away from the entrance. He'd glanced from former to latter, and had nodded approvingly. It was a place people wouldn't go to normally. He'd gone behind Kanaye because he didn't trust him.

He was also on the outskirts. Far enough in to give his opinion. Not enough to be easily noticed. It kept him happy.

"Sitting by two girls again, Kan-kun? One would think you're a player."

"It looks like enough, for sure..." Maeko said, nodding. "If we finish on time we'll take pictures, too. That way when your mother checks the notes you can show her pictures of what you were writing about."

She went through the notes quickly, pointing out a few mistakes that she caught in the english parts.

"Oh, I was going to give you this yesterday but there was the incident." She said, digging around in her pocket and producing a bracelet made of multicolored beads with a bird charm hanging from it. "I found these in a shop in town the day we arrived. I was just going to get one for me but I thought it'd be nice to have something like this. Sorry it's so childish." She paused, holding up her own wrist and pulling back her sleeve. Hers was similar except with a butterfly charm. "If you want the butterfly we can switch, I just thought you'd like the bird because of...you know" She trailed off, not sure how to word 'because your soul apparently looks like one and not like the bad guy for a storybook'.

She waved to Kou, only just noticing he was there. "Oubai-san, I'm glad you could make it."

Turning to Kozue and Toru, Kanaye smiled. "Much better. It's nothing permanent, but still something I'd rather do without." he said unnecessarily.

Next on the list, he turned to Toshimi. "Oh don't worry, Toshichan. You didn't miss anything important. I doubt you would've wanted to see it, anyway." he said, gingerly touching the bandages on his face.

For the best part, he took the milk Misaki was drinking, opened it dramatically, took a gulp, then swallowed and smiled at Misaki. "Why, thank you Misachan! I feel better already!" he exclaimed, posing for emphasis before grinning at Kou. "I don't know if you realize this, Koukun, but that's kinda the point. You should try it sometime!"

Finally, he just raised an eyebrow at Maeko. "Friendship bracelets? A nice touch, Maechan, but I think it's kind of redundant. Everyone knows you and Misachan are best friends anyway. It's like required knowledge for this school."

Misaki grinned happy that she had done well enough with the writing and nodded at the photo suggestions. "Yeah that would be great Maeko-chan! She would be really happy about that I think."

Beaming at Kanaye she added, "Good I'm glad to hear it. Next time it would be better to upset Shirai-san where there's no large dangerous objects he can hurt you on."

Seeing Kou she waved happily and asked quickly, "Oubai sempai, will you please give me a few of those photos that you took while we were taking that walk?"

Her eyes quickly moved to Maeko and she postively smiled so brightly it was likely that her face might tear in two if she kept it up. "For me! Maeko-chan you didn't need to! It's beautiful!"

Misaki quickly tied it on and examined the bead work and the charm. She shook her head and grinned, "No I like this one. And it's from you Maeko-chan, so I know you picked it out with a lot of care. I really appricate that...thank you so much. I won't ever take it off!"

She showed it to Kozue, Toshimi, Toru and the others, "Isn't it pretty. Maeko-chan knows exactly the sort of colors I like too!"

Kiriko arrived and sat down without any apologies for her lateness and scarcely a greeting to anyone at all - she was preoccupied with two folders and a notebook in her hands, still scribbling furiously in one of them. It was a shame they'd have to miss the museum - it wasn't particularly interesting, but she was almost positive they'd be testing on something from it and so had made quick rounds to take notes on everything that looked important enough to be on a test and was just finishing her thought on them as she arrived.

She tucked all but one of the folders away as soon as she had finished and looked up at her work, performing a headcount now rather than saying hello. The other folder took a place on the table before her and she seemed to gain some levity at having it out of her hands.

"Are we ready to begin?"

"Uh."

Kou wasn't sure. It was nice of Misaki to ask, but he'd never been in that position, except with family members. At all. However, he didn't want to be mean. Photos were photos and she had seen him taken them. He gave a small smile, "Sure."

And when he looked across the table he was confronted by Kiriko. She'd come in from nowhere! His breath lodged in his throat and he coughed.

"Yes. Please."

"Alright then."

Kiriko flipped open the folder, spreading looseleaf sheets of paper out over the table so that everyone could see at least one of them.

"These are club registration forms. Sagaki-" she paused and took a cursory look around the table, frowning slightly when she didn't see him. Oh well, no skin off her nose. "-decided to register us as a club, to give us an excuse to hang around one another. We're now the Anti-Bullying Club Special Outreach Program. We... target problem students and try to better integrate them. I think I'll be increasing the mandate so that we double as a study group, too, since neither of our troublemakers can even be relied upon to show up at the meetings...

"Anyway. He's put my name down as leader."

She looked up and cast a searching look around the table.

"I... personally think we're more of a democratic group, but if we're going to keep doing this, we should talk about leadership eventually."

A school club. Really.

Well, if nothing else, it would at least give explanations for their meetings, and provide a reason for them to give to people like Sonozaki-san who happened upon them.

"It's a little hokey, but it's probably the best we can do for the time being. Gives us a reason to all be together," Keiichi said, looking at the first-year girl.

"The problem I see is this. Realistically, there are only a handful of us that any sizable group of us are going to be able to agree upon as a leader." Kiriko probably had as solid of a claim as anyone. "I'm willing to agree on you because you probably have the best chance of controlling our Mister Manners."

She also was one of the least...objectionable of the group.

Maeko frowned when she heard the words 'Anti-Bullying Club'. Even if she hadn't been approached directly about this Sagaki would have had to go to the councellor and he hadn't mentioned it either. It wasn't that she cared that much but it would have been nice to be informed.

"I agree." she said, sighing. "Ikeda-san is easily the most qualified here to lead us. If you're willing to act as leader than I think you should."

Kanaye grumbled silently. He wanted to be the leader, dammit! You can't not pay attention to the leader, and if you do, you can yell at them for it!
...But...
"I agree, Kirichan!" he said, smiling like always. "You're great at making people pay attention to you! I'd listen to you anyday!" he lied. He wasn't going to pay attention to Kiriko if it didn't have to do with Paradise.

"Ah-- I wasn't trying to nominate myself, everyone. If you have another suggestion..."

It wasn't that she wasn't up to the job, but really, it seemed a little premature to her to be electing anybody, especially since nobody had really specified what duties that entailed, exactly.

"I can keep order of this club thing, and make sure we get all of our meetings organized and do other things like that. Until we know more about Paradise, well... it's not like any of us knows more than anyone else. About all I can do as leader there is pick which direction we walk in, isn't it?"

Misaki was studying the charm and not looking up as she spoke not wanting to meet eyes, "We also should have someone keeping track of clues and information that we know so that we can go on what we've figured out so far. Like a record keeper...I say either Keiichi-sempai or Maeko-chan. We should also have someone that can keep a listen out for rumors or ideas of who could be taken next." This time she did look up. "For online I nominated Toru-kun because he's the best among us to handle that area, for school Kozue-chan and Satou-sempai, since people easily talk to them."

She went back to playing with her charm.

Toru was between bemused and mildly terrified by the whole situation. It was bad enough that Misaki had chosen to sit next to him in front of the whole group (including Maeko), but infinitely worse that this group would be an official club. That he would have to attend regularly. Cutting into his time. At the very least, though, he could make it tolerable. He raised his voice a tiny bit.

"I... agree. Ikeda-san's the most suitable one here to lead us." He promptly shut afterward.

So that's what she had been talking about when Misaki had mentioned a club on her journal. "You'd be a good leader, or, I guess, Team Chairperson. Should we think of a title? You're very good at organizing." Kozue confirmed, nodding towards Kiriko. Far enough down, Kozue sort of agreed with Kiriko: it might be better to make their team (or organization or whatever) democratic.

"And - that's a good idea, split up responsibilities. I'm fine with uh... being in charge of rumors, I guess." She nodded, smiled a little flatly. Well, gossip was fun, so it wouldn't really be like work.

Kanaye leaned in. "Well, thank you Misachan! I'll be happy to help-" he managed to get in before the bold interrupted him. Aw, man. She, too, rose from her seat at the table.

"I guess we have a bit of bad luck for meetings," Kozue said, looking up at the ceiling from where the announcement had come. It wasn't time to leave, yet, was it? Oh, some kid had probably gotten in trouble. For all she knew, Reizo had stolen some priceless artifact and that was why they were being kicked out. It was likelier than anything else she could imagine. Even though there was a perfectly reasonable explanation, she was sure, the PA announcement made her feel vaguely uneasy.
