School Trip, Day Two. (THE GREAT OUTDOORS)

Who: EVERYONE (npcs welcome)
What: Hiking, Meeting (Major Arcana Only), Setting up Tents, Cooking, MYSTERY FOOD X, King's Game, Sleepn (Possible bear-wrestling)
Where: IN A WOOD
When: Late May
Why: We like camping.

Aomori-sensei was waiting outside the hotel when everyone was awake, tapping a foot impatiently and looking at his watch. Ishino-sensei seemed somewhat nervous. He'd snapped at her when she'd tried to speak to him. He was always a lot more patient with the students and she'd hoped that finally going on this trip would improve his mood. She shook her head and smiled. It was her fault her colleague had to deal with all the reporters and so she had no right to complain when he was in a mood like this.

Tent arrangements:

Boys
3: Reizo/Toru/Akiyama
3: Kanaye/Yuuto/Kou
4: Gendou/Keiichi/Shin

Girls
3: Toshimi/Maeko/Shiori
3: Kojima/Renju/Mitsuko
4: Kiriko/Emi/Masami
4: Noriko/Misaki/Tori/Kozue

Kiriko stood with her arms crossed around the centre of the clearing, trying to ignore Reizo's presence and ignoring the uncomfortable feeling blooming inside of her. She wanted to wait and ensure that everyone left without trouble before leaving herself - specifically, she was waiting to ensure that Misaki didn't pick this moment to engage with Reizo. She rubbed one of her arms.

She glanced back over her shoulder when Reizo speaked, blinking at him at first. Her expression settled slowly into a grave frown. Her eye dodged his - she'd meant not to look at his face at all, but found it difficult not to look at the mean scar stretching out from the corner of his mouth. She forced her gaze to meet his for a moment, and it didn't linger as she turned her head away, looking back down to the people filing away.

"I don't know why you're telling me that."

Walk. Walk. Walk. ....Then more walking. It was truly the most walking Emi had ever done that didn't include shopping in any way. Instead it just had.... dirt, bugs, trees, over grown plants, and annoying people. It was terrible. By the time she finally reached the clearing she felt like her feet were about to fall off and run away from the rest of her body. She knew they were supposed to have a meeting somewhere, but... it looked like it was over. With an expression of disgust and disbelief she just stood there and stared with a can of bug spray still in her hand.

"..... I missed the meeting?!" Her cheeks puffed up in anger and she tossed the can to the ground. Who even starts a meeting until everyone gets there?! Jerks!

Misaki was twiching, it wasn't so visible, but she was shaken. The fact that Reizo had done such a thing to Satou and Shiori-chan was way too much. She glanced at Kiriko, who clearly didn't want her to confront him, but she couldn't just let this go. Not after...it was just going to far. Just a bit to far and she hated it, hated feeling like this...it wasn't fair and she just...She held it in till everyone had left, saved for her, Emi, Kiriko and Reizo. Misaki didn't care if Emi saw her like this, she didn't go to the same school and besides that Tomako would probably tell her about smaller blow ups that Misaki had when she was at home in her room.

Misaki clenched her fists and glared at Reizo as she spoke heatedly, "I hope you're happy Shirai-san. I really hope you're happy with what you just did. How could you...be...such an...ILL TEMPEPERED, SLOVINISH, BABOON FACED, SIMPLETON! Do you know what you just did! Renji-sempai saw that! She saw it and she's probably going to tell the teachers."

"I hate this!" she kicked a log near her foot and winced, that probably wasn't the smartest of ideas. "Why would you do something like that to Shiori-chan, huh? Are you that ignorant that you have to make such a move! I thought you were better then that!"

Misaki was shaking, physically now trying hard not to cry but to scream, "I don't get this...why did this have to happen to us! Is this some sort of punishment from Buddah or something, because if it is...I want to know what we did to deserve this."

She sat down on the log, curling her toes, trying not to let the pain get to her and glared angrily at Reizo.

“Just the quiet lament of a softhearted man who can’t stand to see his favorite group of people rip apart at the seams?” He offered, face and tone as grave as he could suffer before the proverbially dam broke and a mocking grin split his face in half.

He leaned back against the tree conveniently just inches away from his seat and lifted his cigarette back to his lips, taking another long drag off it as he scanned the grounds. Most of the stragglers had left and it looked like Ikeda-bitch’s tenure as watch dog over the savage Shirai Reizo was coming to a close. Or it would have been, if Emi hadn’t come charging into the clearing.

He greeted the young girl with amusement in both eye and voice, “Oi, Hayashi-chan. Rude, innit? Someone should really teach them some manners. I always heard rich kids came with ‘em installed, but I guess we got a broken batch.”

His expression broke when Misaki started shouting, overreacting, whining. He watched her coolly from across the clearing, one eyebrow cocked.

“Lotsa people have seen me hurt people, Rabbit. Goggle girl won’t say anything. None of you will say anything for fear of getting worse if you do.” His voice was calm and casual, businesslike. He was honestly a little baffled at the shock-- did they just conveniently forget who he was?

"Misaki, let's go." her tone was firm, but didn't betray the faint annoyance she was feeling towards the girl. It was a bad situation, but she shouldn't be so surprised by it. The way she saw it, Misaki had some fantasy spun in her head about how Reizo would never hurt a fly - probably something to do with her crush on him, and dangerously naive besides.

Why couldn't she see that yelling at him over it was pointless at best and dangerous at worst?

She waited for Misaki to move, but kept watch on Reizo out of the corner of her eye and was quite prepared to move between them if he got up and went for Misaki, too.

"Fine I'll go...but I'm not helping him..." she said softly and looked at the ground... then up at Reizo. "Not until Shirai san at least appologizes for what he did to Satou-sempai."

"What are you going to do the same thing you did to Satou-san? Smash my face into a wall! Rake it across the bark till I'm bloody and bruised? Please...do try!" she got up and muttered in a cool voice that didn't sound like her normal sweet self. "You know what makes me the most sick Shirai-san...the fact that you'd probably be one of the first to beat the hell out of anyone who did the same thing to Satou-san."

She looked at Kiriko then at the ground, as if to comply with leaving.

The youngest couldn't get a word in to reply to anyone before being interrupted by a very upset Misaki. Clearly, she had missed more than just the meeting. Emi didn't realize how tense the situation had been until Misaki started yelling. She was actually really surprised about the reaction. She had yet to see the girl be actually angry about something and she didn't think it was possible with a personality like the one Misaki seemed to have. She was a bit confused, trying to figure what happened from what was going back and forth amongst them. Whatever had happened, Reizo apparently did something pretty bad to someone. The someone being Kanaye and perhaps Shiori from what was being said.

She hesitated to butt in until it was over. The whole thing was all very day time TV drama, so she didn't really feel awkward standing there until she realized they had just pretty much left her alone with the intimidating teen when they turned to leave. Right after he had apparently done something terrible, too. She took a step forward and opened her mouth to say something, but paused as she didn't want to make it obvious she was actually a little uneasy about it. So, she just watched them make their exit and then she looked back at Reizo in silence for a few seconds. "I didn't think it was even possible to make her mad." She finally commented with her typical frown and a lack of better words.

The tall boy watched them impassively, head tipped back against the tree and cigarette bobbing between his lips, appearing to Misaki’s outburst and instead concentrate on something he could hear a little ways off. Was there a creek back there? Maybe the rain from the night before had flooded some small streams..

He tipped forward on his log and exhaled a cloud of smoke, eyes flicking away from Misaki and Kiriko and settling on Emi.

“You got a lot to learn about bleedin’ heart types, Hayashi-chan,” he grunted, standing up and propping his hands against the small of his back to lean back and stretch it out. “Try kicking a puppy or something in front of her one day, see what she does.”

He sighed, dropping back into his regular posture and looked around the clearing. All the tension and fear he’d been eating up earlier was fading, and with it his interest. He caught Emi in a bored stare after a moment, cigarette halfway to his mouth again and pinched between his index and middle finger.

“You not gonna follow your darling Ikeda-neesan?"

She thought she knew all about bleeding hearts, but anger from one like that? Apparently she didn't know that much after all. She wasn't going to be kicking a puppy any time soon though. "Well, I would have expected her to cry instead. Then again, she looked like she was about to do that, too, anyway," Emi replied honestly with a shrug.

The girl looked away from him for a moment during the pause. She reached down to pick up the bug spray she had thrown on the ground and then sat down on the other edge of the log to place it back in her bag. She knew she'd have to get back up and keep walking soon, but right now she was dreading the idea. Especially after going all of that way for nothing apparently. Next time anyone said anything about a meeting she was just going to ditch them. None of them were really worth her time anyway!

Emi let out a heavy sigh and re-tied the strings in a bow that would've been perfect if she hadn't become distracted by Reizo's comment. She shook her head and scowled at him again. "She's not my 'darling neesan'! And why should I?!"

He cocked an eyebrow and his head at her, regarding her like some strange new bug he’d just caught in his net. Emi was an easy mark, alright, but it didn’t make her any less fun. He flashed her an amused grin as if to announce his thoughts and, after flicking away the filter of his cigarette, fished his cigarette pack out of his front pocket.

“Well, the way Ikeda tells it, you’re always hanging around or off her and telling her how much you want to be like her,” he said with the practiced ease of an experienced liar, eyes skimming the young girl for any visual tics, “you know, dress like her, talk like her, that sorta thing. The girls were cooing and laughing over it.”

He hung a new cigarette from his mouth and lit it, then shook the match out and went to slip it back into his pocket. He thought better of it and instead tilted it towards her, “Smoke?” Then seemed to think better of it again and shook his head, grinning at her behind the red beacon of his cigarette, “Naw, I bet you don’t even know how to smoke.”

Misaki was just heading away with Kiriko when she paused when she heard the word smoke and glared at Reizo, thankfully the look he had seemed to indicate that he wasn't about to give them to Emi. She walked over to him slowly and tilted her head then smiled, "Shirai san...you really are an ass you know that."

She did think that Kiriko was cool, but to go as far to say all of those things behind her back just really wasn't cool. For whatever reason she hadn't really expected something like that, but at the same time she really wasn't surprised even if it was true. It was all just so... blarg. But the group of teenagers were a bunch of idiots to begin with. "Oh, please! I have better things than do with my time than hang off of her all day. And I'm better than she is as I am, so to even think I'd want to be like her is stupid!" Emi crossed her arms and angrily turned her head.

Her reaction to the cigarette wasn't much different. The wrinkled her nose at just the gross scent of the things, so she shook her head at the offer. "I don't really care to learn. It ruins your teeth, makes your breath stink, and gives you unwanted facial hair. It's bad enough that it smells nasty even if I'm not the one doing it."
