Jade swished her way off the stage and threw a wink at the audience over her bare shoulder before disappearing into the wings. The howling applause made her spine tingle every time. It wasn't so much that she thought they were applauding her talent, she had no delusions about what she was doing -- it certainly wasn't acting, but it was performing and it was a lot of fun. So much fun that she got a bit caught up in the moment and nearly ran into one of the older dancers who was strictly a dancer. That's what there were in her line of business: there were dancers and then there were Gems. Jade counted herself lucky to be a part of the latter as it meant she got to play with gadgets and follow people and take pictures of things in addition to performing. At any rate, the woman she bumped into hissed at her, something along the lines of 'watch it, kid!' and Jade looked over her shoulder at her, frowning. "Sorry," she said earnestly, and tacked on a quiet, "Geez!" under her breath.
When she got to the dressing room that all the Gems shared together, she began pulling bills from the slim strings at her hips and counted them out quickly. Not bad for being her only show that night. She rummaged around the small closet where her costumes resided and pulled out a short red silk robe and slung it on, tying it off around her waist and taking a seat in front of her mirror. After a quick hair and makeup check to make sure that she didn't look a complete mess, she kicked her platform boots up onto the counter and leaned back to relax a bit.
