Action Scene: Snape has dreams for the future? Really?


Harry stood on Snape's front step nervously. It had been over a week since he'd last been told to go buy something nice for himself, and here he was standing in front of Snape's home wearing it. He knew he didn't have to knock, but something kept him firmly in place and wasn't allowing him to move forward. What if Snape didn't like it? Why did that even matter?

He shook his head and gripped the doorknob, jumping back in surprise when it turned without him moving it.

"I suppose he wouldn't be willing to hear any excuses either, would he?" Harry sighed in a huff and jumped off the sofa. "Fine then. I best try my hardest to show up before he does then."

"Indeed," Severus agreed, rising to his feet and following Harry toward the lab. "You may even be rewarded for being early. Then again, I'm sure he's the type of man to take points when he notices that your left shoe is untied."

When Harry halted to look at his shoe, Severus passed him, entering the lab first.

"You're late, Potter."

Harry bent over and re-laced them and then double knotted them for good measure. Neither had been untied, but they were loose. "You're a horrible man."

"Aren't I just," Severus replied, smirking as he pulled open a drawer and removed a piece of parchment. "Quiz, Potter. You have fifteen minutes."
