With the attack plot underway tomorrow, we decided to write up a point list of important things you guys should know before you decide what characters you'd like to take part, and what sort of roles they would play. There's also information on the colony itself. More information will be added over the next day or so. If you have any questions please let us know. Also, please reply to this post with which characters you are thinking of having join in.
Things you should know:
- The human colony is populated by 114 people, mostly farmers and families.
- It's a thirty minute drive from the main colony.
- Contact with the infected in that region is very rare, and never more than a few small groups when it happens.
- The human colony is surrounded by a wall, much like the main colony. However, instead of a main building and a few smaller buildings, the colony is comprised of several small trailers and simple built homes. The animals are kept behind the main "village", and the crop fields exist beyond this. There is a mill, dairy facilities, several greenhouses, and other farming facilities.
- Currently the human colony is powered by a multitude of specialized batteries that are rotated out every week by the supply teams and charged by the arc reactor back at the main colony. There have been talks of a direct line to the main colony's arc reactor, but so far nothing has been established.
Things to keep in mind:
- Characters who are on the Friday supply run will not be able to join in on the defense of the human colony.
- The main colony will still need enough people to remain behind and defend it, so each player should only choose one or two characters to send out to assist. These characters should also make sense. No characters under 18 or who have no real outside/genuine combat experience.
The attack:
- The attack will be led by a group of about twenty well-armed city raiders. These are people who intend to kill those inside and steal their stores, potentially their women and children, and anything else of value to their survival.
The aftermath:
- Most of the characters will return to the colony after the attack, but several will stay behind to help with refortifying. Also, at this point characters who specialize in building or technology will be allowed to spend a few days at the human colony to help set them up.
The Important NPCs:
Simon Ellis - The colony leader. An mid-forties with a gruff appearance, who has grayed quickly in the past few years. He's a good man, if a bit wary and overprotective of his people, but he's come to trust those from the Xavier's colony. Ellen Cobb - The colony doctor. In her fifties, well graying, Stubborn and mostly friendly. Alan Clarke - Head of security. Bill Fletcher - Head Engineer.
