Ability: Electric shock producing... abilities xD;? Will be described in past XD;;
Background: Changmin grew up on the northwest coast of the States in a small fishing community. His life was normal, growing up with both parents and enough siblings to keep them all sufficiently occupied and out of trouble. He didn't start showing any manifestation of his powers until he was 11 and even then they were little things, easily explainable. He could stroke his siblings hair and have it sticking straight up and staticy with a single touch but no one thought anything of it. The other kids thought it was fun, nicnaming him 'static cling' and often poking him until they were shocked and ran away giggling before returning to do it again.
His abilities manifested slowly, nothing more then small shocks for a couple years before he started to build up a 'pulse'. When he was 13 Changmin first began to realize about his powers when he was playing with his sisters hamster and it bit him, sending a shock up his arm and Changmin dropped it. Further investigation revealed a still body and it wasn't until a few similar incidents that Changmin began to realize it was him. Frightened of what was wrong with him and too scared to ask anyone Changmin began to seperate himself from everyone, friends and family, in fear of what he could do to them or what they'd think or do to him if they found out.
Though his parent's were worried about the personality change that was happening in him they reassured themselves it was just a phase and made sure his siblings gave him his space. Unfortunetly shortly after he turned 14 Changmin had a run-in with one of the local bullies, older kids who thought they ruled the town. He tried to avoid the older teen but his attempts were futile and when he seen a fist flying towards his face Changmin tensed, eyes closing to prepare for the hit. The punch sent him flying back but the quick shot of pain was unnoticeable when he felt the familiar warm shock pass through his body. Panicking he quickly opened his eyes only to see the older kid sprawled on the ground, twitching slightly and Changmin stared in horror, knowing he did this again, before running away, not bothering to see if the older boy was okay. That night he packed up all his belongings and ran away, convinced he'd be locked up if the truth ever got out.
The next few years were spent on the road, trying to understand what was happening to himself and never staying in one spot too long. Changmin travelled east, slowly learning what he could do and how to stop himself. He soon found places with too much technology gave him headaches caused from the electric currents he could feel around him like a constant buzz and he often short cirquited anything he touched. His days were spent hiding in old libraries, all his knowledge learned from books, his nights trying to figure out a way to turn himself 'off'. He researched for hours on any hint of what he was but there were no other documented cases like his and Changmin didn't want to tell anyone and become a guinea pig. Scrap yards became his haven, the large piles of metal an easy way to release some of the built up electricity not using his powers would cause. That's where he learned about his ability to 'radiate' giving off small amounts of electricity that acted as a radar and telling him where things were in his surroundings. It worked best in wet and metallic environments though he's never been able to extend it past its range of 15 feet from him so far. Places without any conductors shortened his range as well to around 5 feet.
When he was 17 he started working on a way of blocking his powers somehow, wanting to live outside the constant fear they would accidently manifest and hurt someone again. It took a long time and many trials but eventually Changmin managed to fashion himself some wrist and leg bands, devices that absorbed his electricity while covered in a thick insulator. The payoff was worth it though when he could move in crowds without worrying about everytime someone bumped him though he does get stares for the weird adornments now. Thinking his problem was solved and it'd eventually go away Changmin pushed everything about what he could do to the back of his mind. His body wouldn't let him forget though and after a while Changmin started to get muscle spasms, small at first and then full out seizures where he destroyed anything electronic in a 20 foot radius.
It was during one of these attacks where he first met Peyak, who would become the most important thing in his life. The dog had stumbled upon him while he had lain paralyzed on the ground, body shaking Though Changmin often tried to chase the dog away he wouldn't leave him and soon he was used to his presence, even naming the canine after a while. Peyak, as he was now known, had an uncanny ability to know when another episode was about to start and often warned him before moving an appropriate distance away. It took him a long time to figure out that the bands he had made to absorb his powers had worked too well, absorbing everything his body gave off so Changmin was unconsciously always giving off electricity without his constant effort of trying to stop it. After the bands absorbed so much they started to fail and with no where to outlet the extra energy his muscles would store it until it became too much and they became tense, setting off the seizures that plagued him. Without proper resources or an ability to research himself though Changmin was stuck just replacing the battery packs as they failed, moving through the country with Peyak as his guardian, companion and often blanket on any cold nights. Finding enough food for the both of them was hard but they always managed to get by even if they were a bit too skinny.
When he was 19 Changmin reached New York city at the beginning of another long winter. Desperate for food and money for him and Peyak Changmin took a job at an old scrap yard, filled with cars, electronics, appliances and all other sorts of odds and ends. It wasn't the highest paying job but with no higher education Changmin couldn't be picky and it paid enough for them to get by. Setting up a small shack next to the scrapyard Changmin lived far from luxurious but they got by comfortably and though his space was small it was his own. With free reign over the items in the yard Changmin managed to fashion himself a simple laptop computer from the different remains, encased in a protective rubber layer to keep himself from ruining it. He relies on it for everything, from work to his research on himself, and takes special care not to ruin it. He catalouged everything in the scrapyard and knew where to find whatever he needed, his natural 'radar' helping. Peyak quickly became the mascot of the scrapyard as well, his friendliness making him a favourite among the other workers. Changmin's frame quickly filled out from all the physical labour, the gaunt look of growing too fast with too little food finally starting to leave him. He's slowly learning the repairing aspect of the job, working best with cars and woodworks while trying to avoid the electronics as best he can. At 6'3 he towers over most people though he often slouches to try and hide it.
Despite the advances he's made into controlling himself Changmin still lives in fear of accidently hurting someone. He avoids contact with people as much as he can, as well as any places with too much electrical interference. While some sensitive people can pick up when hes using his 'radar' the amount of electricity he puts out it so small that the feeling is never more then a couple unexplained shivers and they never think anything of it. He doesn't know how much electricity he can put out or for how long and has never tried to measure it. He's also never been electrocuted though he doesn't know if that's from his abilities own protection or just luck but he isn't too anxious to test it and find out. He still has his seizures occasionally when he doesnt use his abilities after a while, Peyak essential on picking up on them before they happen. When excited, nervous or scared his body starts to spark slightly, leaving him to try and control his feelings at all times as well. A sudden jolt or something startling him often lead to him letting loose a shock too.
After trying to stop his powers and make them go away for so long Changmin is slowly learning that training them is his best option for keeping his abilities under control rather then just wishing them away. He's wary of strangers and keeps a distance between him and others both emotionally and physically. He's learning to relax though, the other workers at the scrapyard the closest people hes been to in years. He still wears the bands on his arms and legs most of the time just in case but is learning to work without them as well. He also wants to find out if there are others like him out in the world or if he's a lone mutated case.
