Human/Mutant/Vampire: Vampire Background: Shiwon grew up a pretty normal boy of a pretty average Korean family. So he thought it was normal to study lots to not let his parents' high expectations down, and care about making friends only later - a thought that had him end up with as one of the less popular boys of the class. But Shiwon didn't mind. He did their homework - it was a good excercise for him, anyway - and in turn they left him alone. Just a normal boy trying not to stand out. Except for his perfect grades.
A bright future would have been ahead, if puberty had never intervened. Suddenly Shiwon found himself attracted to people, wanting to belong to a group, and what was more; stop being the quiet guy in the front left corner of the class. A desire that made him stray so severely from his perfect son's image that his parents didn't know what to do and eventually sent him to a private school. A nice, strict and upstanding private all-boys school, where everyone appeared as spotless as Shiwon had been, and where no one really was. Shiwon was fifteen, and only two weeks at his new school, when he had his first shot of alcohol. Hardly a week later he smoked cigarettes with the others and had lost his virginity to a two years older senior.
In this environment, something else spawned. Something that had been inside of him all along, but that Shiwon hadn't been aware of until his hormones started becoming his biggest influence. He couldn't explain it and it scared him to be different. Notably different. He might have never given in, either, if he hadn't one night been unable to resist the desire and placed his teeth against the neck of one of his friends trying to haul his drunken ass home, and strangely gotten off on it. It was simply impossible to deny it any longer. Suddenly Shiwon was spending days and days in the library again. Reading, trying to find answers. When he finally joined in on the parties of his friends again, something about him had changed.
Shiwon lives in New York now. He's balanced his life and left his parents, but he still tries to keep a good bond with them, even though it's obvious to himself that he'll never succeed his father, and might have to break off contact if some stories that he's read about - mostly immortality - are true. He doesn't expect it, because he can walk in daylight just fine, although he feels he's become more sensitive to it lately. The truth is, he doesn't know what he can and can not do. He doesn't know others like him, and the books that are written feel like fairytales to him, legends that tell him nothing. He's currently in university for a Master degree in Biology and works on the side in a bookstore. It's a low-profile job, but there are few windows, he thinks the shop owner's a nice guy - and oh, Shiwon might be nice to everyone, but he hardly thinks many people are really worth his attention - plus, he can take a day off whenever he wants to. Shiwon needs that, sometimes.
Preferred RP Style: Paragraph's fine, but AIM's all right too. Another valid excuse to make yet another new sn soon. Anything Else: ... I don't think (so).
