She had frozen at the feeling of a hand on her arm - she was unaccustomed to being touched in a casual manner, except by her pseudo-siblings, and almost never by an almost-stranger. It wasn't exactly uncomfortable as it was unexpected, and Adelaide wasn't entire sure how to react when the instructor's words broke the moment and Josie backed away.
"Thank you, Daisy," she heard the instructor as the door began to close behind her, and she called out with a smile, "You're welcome, sir!"
She had only gotten a few steps down the hallway when she felt the papers in her arms begin to shift, so she quickly cross to the nearest windowsill, which was wide enough to place her files on. With a tiny sigh, she began to reorganize the mess - not necessarily putting anything in order, just making it easier to carry. It was rather mindless, and as her fingers deftly moved the papers, Adelaide noticed a small pot of violets in the corner of the window.
With a small smile on her face, she reached out to stroke the petals of the nearest flower as most people would pet a kitten. She could tell the plant was almost perfect, healthy except for one small stem that was dying. A quick glance around showed her that she was alone, so she turned her eyes back to the flower, feeling her power extending through the tips of her fingers to bring the single dying stem back to vigorous life equal to that of its companions. She took her hand back and smiled at the plant, her thoughts on nothing more than how pretty it was.
